Patent number: 5634830Abstract: The contact element for electrical connectors, in particular for audio connectors, is stamped out of a starting material in sheet form. It has two fork-like legs having projections directed opposite one another at their free ends for the purpose of making contact diametrically with a contact element in the shape of a pin or strip which can be inserted between the fork-like legs. The contact-making boundary edges of the projections extend in a straight line. When the contact element is not loaded, these straight boundary edges enclose an acute angle with the center axis of the contact element, which acute angle corresponds to the deflecting angle of the legs when the pin-shaped or strip-shaped contact element is inserted. The portion of the contact element remote of the projections is constructed as a curve and a web leading to the terminal lug of the contact element adjoins the central portion of this curve. The contact element is substantially shaped like a tuning fork.Type: GrantFiled: April 10, 1995Date of Patent: June 3, 1997Assignee: Neutrik AktiengesellschaftInventor: Bernhard Weingartner

Patent number: 5634380Abstract: The articulated fitting has a stationary articulated part associated with the seat part and a swivelable articulated part associated with the backrest. These articulated parts are connected with one another via an adjusting shaft. An adjusting and locking device which is constructed as a gear unit and determines the position of the two articulated parts relative to one another is provided. The adjusting shaft has an eccentric portion for supporting one articulated part, this eccentric portion being formed by two wedge segments which are inclined relative to one another and engage regions of a driver of the adjusting shaft, by a driver arm engaging between the narrow sides of the wedge segments, and by a torsion spring which spreads apart the broad sides of the wedge segments with its spring legs. Therefore, the invention minimizes the play occurring between the driver arm and wedge segments as a result of operation and manufacture.Type: GrantFiled: March 28, 1995Date of Patent: June 3, 1997Assignee: Keiper Recaro GmbH & Co.Inventors: Grit Scholz, Dirk Angermann, Thorsten Nottebaum

Patent number: 5630347Abstract: The device includes dispensing units, each of which features a pair of counter-rotating rollers, between which there is inserted the end of a blister band unrolling from a reel and pushed toward a delivery opening. A blade moves vertically and cooperates with the edge of a support surface, situated downstream of the two rollers, to cut the blister band after a predetermined number of products, counted by a sensor, have passed through the delivery opening. An electric motor drives two ratchet coupling mechanisms acting in opposite directions and connected, by belts or chains, with pulleys or toothed wheels which are integral respectively with the rollers and with a pinion meshing with a rack fastened to the blade. An electronic unit controls and checks the working of the device. Optionally, a token, or coin receiver, a banknote reader or other payment mechanism may be used to allow the user to activate the dispenser after making a payment.Type: GrantFiled: November 29, 1995Date of Patent: May 20, 1997Assignee: I.M.A. Industria Macchine Automatiche S.P.A.Inventor: Gasperini Elvio

Patent number: 5626858Abstract: Various liquid or low melting pesticide and herbicide formulations, previously formulated with organic solvents, are combined with a polymer in solution and co-precipitated to form a polymer complex which captures the pesticide or herbicide yet exists as a solid at ambient conditions. By preparing the pesticide or herbicide formulation as a solid complex, storage and handling of the formulation is possible without the potential for organic solvent emission. When the solid polymer complex is placed in water, a stable aqueous dispersion of the pesticide or herbicide is achieved as the polymer inhibits flocculation, with approximately 100% recovery of the pesticide or herbicide.Type: GrantFiled: June 7, 1995Date of Patent: May 6, 1997Assignee: ISP Investments Inc.Inventors: Kolazi S. Patent number: 5626590Abstract: A laparoscopic suturing method comprises the steps of (a) disposing a laparoscopic cannula in an abdominal wall of the patient, (b) moving a first end section of a suture through the laparoscopic cannula and into an abdominal cavity of the patient so that a second end section of the suture remains outside the patient, (c) passing the first end section of the suture through organic abdominal tissues of a patient, and (d) drawing the first end section of the suture back out through the laparoscopic cannula upon passing of the suture through the abdominal tissues of the patient. Upon drawing of the first end section of the suture out of the patient, a suture locking device is slid along the suture end sections and through the laparoscopic cannula until the locking device is substantially juxtaposed to the organic tissues at the opening. Then, the suture end sections are severed on a side of the locking device opposite the abdominal tissues and the opening.Type: GrantFiled: February 21, 1995Date of Patent: May 6, 1997Inventor: Peter J. Patent number: 5627585Abstract: An arrangement for high-resolution scanning of large image formats with exact geometrical correspondence is described. It is applied in photogrammetry and in optoelectronic scanners with high requirements regarding exact geometrical correspondence. Metric image contractions of large image formats are obtained without dimension-embodying auxiliary means by employing a CCD matrix which is exactly dimensioned to pixel sensitivity distribution. This CCD matrix is used as an absolute dimensional embodiment, from which only one active pixel area determined as a function of the memory area of the frame grabber is adopted into the frame grabber while ensuring an image contraction which is absolutely synchronous with the pixels.Type: GrantFiled: July 19, 1996Date of Patent: May 6, 1997Assignee: Rheinmetall Jenoptik Optical Metrology GmbHInventors: Ralf Goldschmidt, Werner Borchardt

Patent number: 5624514Abstract: An alarm trigger is a component part of an anti-theft security system which also comprises a detector. The alarm trigger is integrated into a support and is fastened to merchandise, preferably articles of clothing, by means of this support. In order that the alarm trigger may remain inconspicuous and so as not to impair visual appraisal of the merchandise outfitted with this alarm trigger, a process is proposed in which a continuous textile web is produced from thread material. This textile web has successive web pieces comprising textile functional strips specific to the merchandise, e.g., a woven label. Every web piece is constructed, at least partially, in two layers so as to form a cavity, this cavity being produced by portions in at least two partial steps. In the first partial step, only an initial portion of the web piece is produced at first. This initial portion has a pocket which is still open in the double-layer region.Type: GrantFiled: February 1, 1995Date of Patent: April 29, 1997Assignee: Friedrich Graf Soehne GmbH & Co. Patent number: 5624618Abstract: A multi-vane structure for incorporation in an aircraft gas turbine engine has vanes of complex geometry made of braided fibers which are continuous about the cavities defined by the vanes. These complex geometry parts are prepared by providing a plurality of removable mandrels, stacking the mandrels along a horizontal axis in a cavity end to cavity end configuration, braiding about the mandrels, cutting the mandrels adjacent the cavity end faces, side stacking the mandrels so the faces are placed in a parallel orientation and molding. Utilizing braided fibers instead of hand lay-up woven fibers eliminates seams and produces cavities having continuous fibers about the periphery thereof which substantially increases the strength and dimensional reproducibly of the part.Type: GrantFiled: June 7, 1995Date of Patent: April 29, 1997Assignee: Dow-United Technologies Composite Products, Inc.Inventors: Thomas P.
