  • Patent number: 5642978
Abstract: A device for handling disk-shaped objects in a handling plane of a local clean room has the object of ensuring process steps preceding or following the processing and inspection of the disk-shaped objects under the conditions of a local clean room with the use of SMIF boxes. The handling plane (H--H) is in a fixed constructional relationship with a reference plane (E--E) of at least one device comprising the magazine seat as a component part, which device serves to index the shelves of magazines and disk-shaped objects contained therein and is arranged above an intermediate base dividing the clean room into two partial spaces located one above the other, in which an air flow component of an air flow is directed from the partial space above the intermediate base into the partial space below the intermediate base. The device can be used in the manufacture of integrated circuits, particularly for handling tasks.

  • Patent number: 5644203
Abstract: A brushless motor speed detector requires no FG pattern or FG magnetization so that a motor structure is not restricted. The detector includes a simple detection circuit and a simple detection signal processing circuit, and is capable of obtaining a high-accuracy detection signal by using a variable signal output circuit for providing a signal alternately varied due to the rotation of a motor, a constant signal output circuit for providing a signal not varied due to the rotation of the motor, and a comparator for comparing an output signal of the variable signal output means with output signals of the constant signal output means or for comparing output signals of the first and second variable signal output circuit with each other to provide speed detection signals for one turn of the motor more than the number of driving magnetized poles.

  • Patent number: 5643169
Abstract: A decanter centrifuge comprises a bowl and a worm or screw type conveyor. The bowl is rotatable about a longitudinal axis and has a cake discharge opening at one end and a liquid phase discharge opening. The conveyor includes a conveyor hub having at least a portion disposed inside the bowl for rotation about the longitudinal axis at an angular speed different from an angular rotational speed of the bowl. The conveyor further includes a helical screw or worm attached to the conveyor hub and disposed inside the bowl for scrolling a cake layer along an inner surface of the bowl towards the cake discharge opening. An adjustable component on the hub forms a gap between the hub and the inner surface of the bowl so that the gap has a size adjustable independently of hub rotation speed. The adjustable gap enables an optimization of the moisture content of cake exiting the bowl at the cake discharge opening for a given solids throughput and cake rheology.

  • Patent number: 5643483
Abstract: An improvement is proposed in a ceramic heater which is an integral body comprising a flat substrate plate made from an electrically insulating ceramic material, e.g., fused silica glass, and a layer of an electroconductive material formed on one surface of the substrate plate in a pattern of an electric heater element. One of the surfaces of the insulating substrate plate, on which the heater layer is formed, is subjected to a surface roughening treatment, e.g., by sand blasting, prior to the formation of the heater layer so as to be imparted with a specified surface roughness so that the heat generated in the heater layer and transmitted to the other surface as infrared rays is irregularly scattered .

  • Patent number: 5641190
Abstract: A gripping device for use in pressing together two radially protruding ends of a hose clamp constituting a spring wire which is wound into a single loop or coil, the diameter of which can be increased by pressing together the two ends of the spring wire. The gripping device has a rigid jaw with a movable jaw hinged thereto, the jaws having gripping devices for gripping the free ends of the spring wire of the hose champ. The relative movement of the jaws is controlled by a first roller and a second roller, the rollers being seated in a roller head, which is moveable and parallel with an additional roller path of the rigid jaw. During movement, the first roller bears against the additional roller path and the second roller against another roller path as a result of which the friction between the individual parts of the gripping device is reduced to a minimum.

  • Patent number: 5636476
Abstract: In a device for opening and closing a window, a casement moves between a closed and an open position with respect to a stationary frame. This is done by a longitudinally displaceable toothed rack, which effects the movement of the casement of a carrier. In order to obtain a space saving, easy to operate device. Not only is the casement moved by the toothed rack, but the casement is also moved by a moveable closing element in the frame between its latching position and unlatching position with a stationary carrier located on the frame. Both carriers are connected respectively to the toothed rack by means of an independent coupling, which is rendered effective and ineffective at an associated change-over location. These two change-over locations are arranged in a specific place in the path of longitudinal displacement of the toothed rack, respond to the associated coupling and are automatically effective.

  • Patent number: 5636724
Abstract: The object of a device for transferring a transport object between two end positions is to exclude negative influences on dependability and clean room conditions, also in lengthy transport paths, while ensuring a highly flexible transfer. To control the operation of sensors and actuators at a movable part of a drive serving to transfer, electrical contact between these sensors and actuators and a supply unit located in a stationary part of the drive is effected exclusively in the two end positions. The device is provided in particular for use in the manufacture of semiconductors, e.g., for charging semiconductor processing machines, but is not limited to this field.

  • Patent number: 5634689
Abstract: Articulated fitting for seats having an adjustable backrest, in particular motor vehicle seats. The articulated fitting has an articulated part which is stationary with respect to the seat part and a swivelable articulated part associated with the backrest, these articulated parts being connected with one another via a swivel axle. The position of the two articulated parts relative to one another is determined by an adjusting and fixing device constructed as a gear unit. The swivel axle has an eccentric portion which is formed by two wedge segments which embrace a driver of the swivel axle, by a driver arm engaging between the narrow sides of the wedge segments, by an energy accumulator which presses apart the wide sides of the wedge segments and possibly by a centering segment arranged adjacent to the latter. The swivel axle has a central receptacle serving to connect with a transmission rod so as to be fixed with respect to rotation relative thereto.

  • Patent number: 5634412
Abstract: To detect a regulating quantity which is directly proportional to the combustion temperature, an infrared measuring device in the form of an infrared pyrometer is provided in the descending waste gas flue of an incineration plant and measures the temperature of the waste gases. The influence of radiation from the glowing fuel bed or the flame is excluded by arranging this measuring device in the descending waste gas flue. The temperature-dependent regulating quantity which is determined in this way can be used directly or indirectly to influence the combustion process. In a preferred application, the temperature-dependent regulating quantity serves to influence the supply of fuel and the speed of the combustion grate, while a regulating quantity derived from the mass flow of steam serves to influence the supply of primary air.
