The sensor portion includes a light-emitting element that emits light at the detecting position and a light-receiving element that receives light reflected from the subject, and generates an electrical signal corresponding to a quantity of received light. The filter is between the sensor portion and the detecting position, is made of a material that transmits light heading to the detecting position from the light-emitting element and light heading to the light-receiving element from the subject, and prevents intrusion of dust. A filter surface facing the sensor portion is tapered and has an inclined plane opposing the light-emitting element, another inclined plane opposing the light-receiving element, and a ridge portion where the inclined planes meet. The ridge portion extends between the light-emitting element and the light-receiving element.
Abstract: A method of configuring a computer system capable of being woken up on a LAN A core power is actuated for an interval by performing a Pre-Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (Pre-ACPI) routine. Next, a PCI clock signal is retrieved in the fixed interval and then an Ethernet ID is loaded using the PCI clock signal, so as to set a south bridge to a standby mode capable of receiving a wake-up event. As a result, use of an oscillator in conventional methods can be reduced, and the computer system can be configured to be capable of being woken-up on LAN, without requiring the start-up procedure, so that the computer system may be awoken on the LAN even after an abnormal shutdown.
Abstract: A collapsible telescopic steering apparatus comprises a steering column having an inner tube and an outer tube which are engaged with each other. The engagement state of the tubes is switchable between a press-fit state and a loose-fit state. Upon vehicle collision, the tubes in the press-fit state are slid relative to each other for shock absorption. For telescopic adjustment, the tubes in the loose-fit state are slid relative to each other to adjust the fore-and-aft position of a steering wheel.
Abstract: The present invention discloses a method for finding an optimized filter parameters design to meet input specifications and hardware constraints in accordance with a typical single channel digital IF programmable downconverter. Said typical single channel digital IF programmable downconverter comprises four stages, including a high speed down-sampling stage, a spectral shaping stage, a rate matching stage and an oversampling stage. According to input specifications, said method firstly determines a number of Halfband interpolation filters used in said oversampling stage, secondly obtains optimized parameters for a CIC decimation filter and a Halfband decimation filter in said high speed down-sampling stage, using as many Halfband decimation filters as possible. Then determine if it is necessary to use re-sampling FIR filter for rate matching.
Abstract: A method for solving a mismatched negotiation result between an auto-negotiation mode and an enforce mode in an Ethernet. The method is applied to a local device with an auto-negotiation mode, the local device is connected to a remote device, and the local device has a plurality of registers including at least an auto-negotiation advertisement register (ANAR) for recording information advertised to the remote device by the local device, and an auto-negotiation link partner ability register (ANLPAR) for recording an ability of the remote device. First, turn on the auto-negotiation mode. The contents of the ANAR register are set according to a transmission mode enforced by a user when the remote device is in the auto-negotiation mode, and then the auto-negotiation mode is restarted. Next, the contents of the ANAR and the ANLPAR registers are determined whether they are matched.
Abstract: A paper pickup mechanism located on one side of a feeding paper tray consists of a pickup roller, a plurality of gears and a plurality of linkage bars to form a highly free mechanism that drives the pickup roller rotating in the paper feeding direction and generating a torque to enable the pickup roller exerting a force on the top paper of the paper tray and provide an automatic compensating paper pickup force. By rearranging the structural locations of the elements, fewer gears are required to transmit the driving power, and energy loss and noise generation are reduced.
Abstract: An improved vibration suppressed bicycle structure includes a frame and a handle set that have ceramic piezoelectric elements located thereon to couple with passive and active control energy consuming mechanisms to convert the vibration energy of the bicycle body into electric energy, which is consumed in heat or gathered for active control use. Abstract: A nonvolatile memory cell occupying a minimum chip area is provided with a cell structure that includes two or more base materials being programmable by a heat induced chemical reaction to form a layer or layers of alloy. The formation of alloy results in a change in resistance of the cell structure so that one or more programmed states are determined. A semiconductor memory constructed by a large number of the nonvolatile memory cells can be obtained in a compact manner with simple and as few as possible steps. This process vertically stacked layers, and this semiconductor memory is thus easily to be combined with other integrated circuits on a single chip.
Abstract: A scanning apparatus adaptable for two resolutions has two carriages with different resolutions. The carriages are disposed in the cover and the scanning bed of the scanning apparatus respectively. Each carriage includes a lens and a sensing module and the sensing module and the lens are at a fixed distance. The optical lengths between the lenses and the documents to be scanned are different so that the resolution produced by the carriage in the cover is different from the resolution produced by the carriage in the scanning bed.
Abstract: A novel Land Grid Array (LGA) interposer with adhesive-retained contacts and method of manufacture provide improved reliability in LGA mounting applications. A flexible adhesive is used to secure LGA interposer contacts to the walls of voids through an interposer frame. The contacts may be spring contacts or “fuzz button” type contacts. The use of a flexible adhesive provides for floating movement of the contacts within the voids so that thermal expansion stresses do not cause unbalanced compression of the contacts that could otherwise occur with a fixed attachment of the contacts to the frame. The resulting interposer can provide reliable electrical connection from LGA lands on an integrated circuit package to lands on an electronic assembly that is highly tolerant of thermal expansion differences, while eliminating migration of the contacts out of the voids that could otherwise cause shorting or disconnection.

Abstract: A scanner with scan-starting device comprises a housing, a carriage and a scan-starting device. The carriage is movable inside the housing whereas the scan-starting device further comprises a key section and a trigger section. Besides, the key section is situated on the housing whereas the trigger section is on the circuit board of the carriage. The trigger section generates a triggering signal to start the scanner to proceed scanning when the user presses the key section to touch the trigger section. The scanner according to the invention reduces the hardware space occupied by cables and circuit boards, therefore, lowers down manufacturing costs.
Abstract: A differential amplifier. A differential pair constructed by a first transistor and the second transistor receives differential input signals. The gate terminals of a third and fourth transistor are coupled to the source terminals of the fourth transistor and the third transistor respectively, and the third and fourth transistor construct a feedback device. This feedback device provides a positive feedback to the differential pair in the differential mode, thereby increasing AC amplitude of the differential amplifier. Further this feedback device substantially brings the drain currents of the first current path and the second current path into coincidence in the Vcom mode.
Abstract: A PNPN structure thyristor and a third P-type impurity region are formed on a semiconductor substrate, and a fixed current circuit using an NPN transistor 20 and a resistor 30 is connected to a cathode terminal K and a gate terminal G of a composite element 10 that has a P-channel MOS transistor Q3 with the third P-type impurity region as a drain connected to a PNP transistor Q1 of the thyristor. If a voltage applied to the anode terminal A of the composite element 10 rises from 0V, initially the thyristor is on and current flows, but once the threshold voltage of transistor Q3 is reached transistor Q3 turns on. A short circuit then exists between the base and emitter of transistor Q3 of the thyristor and current of the composite element 10 itself is cut off. Because of the bipolar structure it is simple to configure a small integrated circuit with a high withstand voltage.
