Abstract: A semiconductor device provided with a shallow metal basin having a flange outwardly extending from the top edge of the side wall of the shallow metal basin, to receive a semiconductor device chip having one or more semiconductor device elements disposed therein and one or more bonding pads arranged thereon, an insulator frame having one or more external terminals arranged thereon, the external terminals being connected with the bonding pads, and the insulator frame being arranged on the flange of the shallow metal basin, and a plastic layer molded to cover the semiconductor device chip, resultantly realizing a semiconductor device packaged in a chip scale package of which the production procedure is simplified and the heat dissipation efficiency and the integration are remarkably improved.
Abstract: A serial bus data control device for communication devices to receive data in a packet format is provided which is capable of obtaining each piece of actual data contained in each of packets needed for reconstructing a series of original data by storing actual data contained in two or more received packets in a memory location with a continued address in a buffer. The serial bus data control device includes a preprocessing section to recognize each of the packets received through the serial bus and to divide the actual data contained in each of the packets into a plurality of unit length data portions having a predetermined length, and a storing section to store the actual data portions contained in each of the packets recognized by the preprocessing section. The preprocessing section has an address control circuit to perform addressing to store each of the unit length data constituting the actual data contained in each of the packets.
Abstract: Disclosed is an inexpensive semiconductor device which has a built-in antenna capable of efficiently radiating low-power microwaves and has excellent productivity. An IC chip is mounted on a lead frame on which a chip base for mounting an IC chip, an inverted-F antenna and a ground electrode are integrated and is molded with an encapsulating resin. At this time, a gap portion, which is formed between the open end of the resonance portion of the inverted-F antenna and the distal end portion of the ground electrode, is not molded with the encapsulating resin and is left open as a window. This can permit electric waves to be efficiently irradiated from the open end of the antenna exposed to air through the window. As this semiconductor device has nearly the same structure as that of an ordinary semiconductor device, it is excellent in productivity and can be fabricated at a low cost.
Abstract: There is provided a text analyzer for analyzing Japanese text data, a facial character reading assignment unit for assigning facial character readings to character string portions of text analysis results determined to correspond to facial characters, and a speech synthesizer for outputting synthesized speech based on the analysis results of the text analyzer. The facial character reading assignment unit is constituted by a facial character determining unit for determining whether or not a symbol is a symbol constituting a facial character using an outline symbol table, a characteristic extraction unit for extracting characteristic symbols used in facial characters from character strings determined to be facial characters, and a reading selection unit for outputting readings allotted to the extracted reading numbers. Here, readings are assigned to the facial character strings according to the number of times characteristic symbols appear in facial characters.
Abstract: A touch-point detecting method is applicable to a resistive touch panel with a touch-point detecting apparatus comprising a plurality of switches. By selectively enabling and disabling those switches, the present method comprises the steps of determining whether an external force is exerted on the touch panel, determining whether the external force is within a predetermined threshold, producing X-coordinate, and producing Y-coordinate.

Abstract: The maximum transmittable amount value (outmax) and the average transmission amount value (average) stored in a transmission amount setting circuit are supplied to a maximum transmission amount manager, a transmission result amount manager, and a maximum transmission amount calculator, respectively. The average transmission amount value is added up and updated in the maximum transmission amount manager, and the data transmission amount value (rvs) output from a data transmitter is added up and updated in the transmission result amount manager. These added-up values are reset under predetermined conditions to prevent an overflow. Based on the values added up in this way, the maximum amount of data to be transmitted is determined and, with this value as the threshold, a data transmission request is output from the data transmitter to a data receiver unit.
Abstract: The present invention aims to reduce a waiting time of an information processing machine from reception of an interrupt request signal to an actual start of an interrupt process. The information processing machine includes a CPU that normally operates with a first clock. The machine also includes a circuit for generating a second clock which is faster than the first clock. Upon receiving the second clock, a clock switching circuit of the machine supplies the second clock to the CPU instead of the first clock in order to cause the CPU to operate with the second clock. When an interrupt control circuit of the machine receives the interrupt request signal, it supplies a start signal to the CPU and the second clock generating circuit so as to cause the CPU to start preparation for the interrupt process and to cause the second clock generating circuit to produce the second clock.
Abstract: A process for making a diamond film with low surface roughness. A substrate is provided. A diamond layer is deposited on the substrate. A binder layer is coated over the diamond layer. A carrier plate is provided to join with the binder layer, thereby forming a laminate structure. The substrate is then removed, thereby obtaining a diamond film with a low surface roughness with respect to the surface roughness of the removed substrate.

Abstract: Debugger impact reduction through motion of an induction variable based breakpoint (“IV-breakpoint”) set within a program loop, where the IV-breakpoint and the loop are controlled by an induction variable having an induction rate, may include extracting, from program code within the program loop, the induction rate; extracting, from the IV-breakpoint, a final value of the induction variable for which the IV-breakpoint would be satisfied; and if the IV-breakpoint is satisfied and the induction variable has a present value that would be beyond the final value upon a next iteration of the loop based on the induction rate, removing the IV-breakpoint. Debugger impact reduction may further include setting, at one or more loop exit program positions, a reset breakpoint; and if one of the reset breakpoints is satisfied, removing the reset breakpoints and/or reestablishing the IV-breakpoint.

Abstract: An optical module apparatus equipped with a latch coupler includes a carrier movable on a guiding rod. The guiding rod is coupled with a turnable check member. When the optical module apparatus is on a flat and using position, the check member may pass through a check trough to enable the carrier to move freely and linearly and reciprocally. When the optical module apparatus is mounted in an inclined manner and moved away from the using position, the check member is subject to the gravity force and turns in parallel with the direction of the gravity force, and is latched on the check trough to restrict the moving range of the carrier. Thus the optical module apparatus may be prevented from moving by external forces during transportation and avoid being damaged.
Abstract: A tamper-proof enclosure for an electrical card, such as a high speed communications card, includes an enclosure in which the card is mounted. The enclosure has a wall with an opening, and a cup member is attached to the wall at the opening. A bus that is connected to the card extends through a passage in the cup member and through the opening in the wall. A security mesh is wrapped around the enclosure. The cup member is filled with liquid resin, which is also coated onto the security mesh. After the resin is cured, the resin in the cup member forms a plug that seals the security mesh from inner pressure when the enclosure is heated to an elevated temperature. The resin is preferably polyamide.

Abstract: A circuit design method to control access pointers of different memory used to transfer the data buffer of printers. The proposed control signal circuit employs a read control signal circuit and a write control signal circuit to receive and send m+n-bit control signals, respectively, to control the access pointers of a memory with 2m*2n-register to perform buffer transfer in printers. The disclosed method is able to solve the problem that only one memory block is accessible in sequential mode before. In addition, the method is able to use all memory blocks in buffer transfer in sequential mode to increases the efficiency of data buffering when printing.
Abstract: A duplex scanner capable of calibrating the two-sided documents comprises an automatic document feeder (ADF), an upper carriage and an upper calibration paper. The upper carriage is installed in the ADF and the upper calibration paper is installed under the upper carriage. Alternatively, the upper carriage is movable installed in the ADF while the upper calibration paper is fixed in the duplex scanner and corresponding to the upper carriage. Before image scanning, the relative motion between the upper carriage and the first calibration paper is generated for calibrating the light beam information. According to the invention, the effects of the contaminated upper calibration paper for the calibration of the light beam information can be reduced, and the quality of the scanning image is greatly enhanced.
Abstract: A wafer grinder withholds a lateral force and adjusts a tilt of worktable with precision. The wafer grinder is used to grind a wafer; that is, the tilt angle of wafer can be adjusted so that wafer is ground with precision. The wafer grinder has a housing module, a rotary worktable module, air pressure spindle module and an adjustment module.
