  • Patent number: 5954314
Abstract: A spring vice (1) compression springs (31), comprising a spindle drive with a threaded spindle and two tensioning claws (2, 17) of an approximately fork-shaped design, wherein the tensioning claws (2, 17) can be moved toward each other by actuating the threaded spindle. To make it possible to apply strong tensioning forces for tensioning compression coil springs and to guarantee a simple exchangeability of the tensioning claws (2, 17) at the same time, the two tensioning claws (2, 17) are provided with a mounting cylinder (3, 16), which forms a kind of bayonet catch together with the spindle drive. This bayonet catch is optimally suitable for absorbing strong tensioning forces and permits a simple replacement of tensioning claws (2, 17) without problems.

  • Patent number: 5952296
Abstract: Methods of using relaxin (RLX), a peptide hormone of the insulin family, which has been found to produce effects on the walls of blood vessels, on blood clotting and on blood lipids and electrolytes, per se, and through the stimulation of the synthesis and release of the two powerful substances: nitric oxide (NO) and atrial natriuretic peptide (ANP), are contemplated whereby RLX is administered to a patient for increasing blood flow, producing dilation of the arteries, influencing blood clotting and fibrinolysis, reducing blood lipids, inducing reduction of blood osmolarity and sodium concentration, and through NO for inhibiting release of histamine from mast cells. • Patent number: 5947717
Abstract: A vaporizing combustion chamber for a heater running on liquid fuel, in particular a vehicle heater, in which inter alia two pipes disposed concentrically one inside the other form therebetween an annular chamber which is closed at a first end. At the second end, the annular chamber is open and leads into a flame diaphragm which projects radially inwards from the outer pipe and is located at a spacing in front of the inner pipe. At both its ends the inner pipe is substantially open and the opening at the second end is contracted by a concentric baffle edge of a baffle plate. In order to improve the emission values of the combustion chamber exhaust gas and reduce combustion noises both when the combustion chamber is disposed horizontally and when it is disposed vertically, the opening in the flame diaphragm is eccentric to the opening, in the inner pipe, formed by the baffle edge of the baffle plate.
