  • Patent number: 5622434
Abstract: A linear bearing structure comprises a bearing bush, a plurality of annular ball retainers each holding a plurality of bearing balls, circumferentially and a pair of annular endpieces respectively removably secured to ends of the bush to confine the ball retainers therein. The bearing bush comprises an outer metal cylinder and an inner cylindrical lining layer formed by a bearing material having a small coefficient of friction and a small coefficient of wear and is provided with a slit which has a predetermined width and extends along the axis of the bush over the entire length thereof so that the bush can be circumferentially elastically compressed by a magnitude corresponding to the width of the slit. Each of the endpieces has, at the inner side thereof, an annular groove having a diameter smaller than that of the bush so that by compressing the bush into the annular grooves of the endpieces at the ends of the bush, the bush and the endpieces can be elastically fitted together.

  • Patent number: 5622037
Abstract: A pressing or pelletizing device for compacting vegetable materials, in particular grass blades, is disclosed for use with a harvester. In order to reduce the pressing forces required for the pelletizing process, the pressing channels are heated up to a temperature above 100 degrees C. It has been demonstrated that by heating the pressing channels, local overheating of the device, which could otherwise lead to malfunctions, can be avoided. The pelletizing device has two co-axial hollow cylinders in which the pressing channels are delimited by radial lands which alternatively engage the pressing channels of the other hollow cylinder. The hollow cylinders are heated by means of a liquid circuit guided through the lands and linked to a heat exchanger that utilizes lost heat from the internal combustion engine of the harvester.

  • Patent number: 5619989
Abstract: A respirator filter with a pot-shaped filter housing, with a flange at the edge of the filter housing, with a flow channel passing through the filter housing with a sealing surface, with a housing cover and with a filter element located in the filter housing is to be optimized in terms of simpler manufacture. To accomplish this task, with the housing cover located at a spaced location from and in parallel to the filter housing, a distance a between the sealing surface and the corresponding part of the housing cover, on the one hand, and a distance (b) between the flange and an outer edge of the housing cover, on the other hand, are dimensioned such that distance (a) is smaller than distance (b), so that when the housing cover is being placed on the filter housing, it comes into contact first with the sealing surface and then with the flange, while the housing cover warps.

  • Patent number: 5617912
Abstract: The present invention pertains to a process for preparing ceramic shells as casting molds, wherein a) a pattern of a part to be cast, which pattern can be melted or dissolved out, is prepared, b) the pattern is dipped into a dip-coating composition of a slurry of a refractory material and a binder in order to form a wet coating on the pattern, c) a coarse refractory powder is sprinkled onto the coating, d) the coating is dried, and e) steps b), c) and d) are repeated until the mold shell has reached the desired thickness. A ceramic protective material is added to the dip-coating composition and/or to the coarse refractory powder. Carbon is introduced into the ceramic protective material during the preparation in the molten state. The carbon is able to chemically bind oxygen at the time of the cooling of the casting essentially at mold temperatures above the firing temperature of the casting mold and is thus able to prevent skin decarburization and surface defects in carbon-containing steels.

  • Patent number: 5618043
Abstract: A game wherein characters are defined to form a data pool. Each character in the data pool is related to and distinguished from the other characters in the data pool by a geographic location data. The data preferably includes actual information such as geographic information, city, country(the character is present in), maps, house plans etc.. However, the data can also be fictitious, such as imaginary worlds with imaginary cites towns etc. The character data may be presented to the player for review or interaction to further develop the character. The characters may be randomly selected from the data pool to simulate the possibility/probability of living at the locations corresponding to the data. Several characters may be provided in sequence, each with a potentially different date and location data.

  • Patent number: 5611663
Abstract: A geared multishaft turbocompressor with impellers arranged in series in terms of flow, which are fastened to two or more pinion shafts, which are arranged in parallel to one another and are driven directly via a central gear or indirectly via pinion shafts on the circumference of the central gear. Two or more compressor impellers are arranged in the same direction of flow in the area of the high-pressure stages III and IV on a pinion shaft. An intercooler is arranged between an intermediate outlet housing and an intermediate inlet nozzle. In stage III, the gas enters the impeller through the inlet nozzle, and it leaves the compressor via an intermediate outlet housing. After intercooling, the gas again enters stage IV via the inlet nozzle, and it leaves this stage via the outlet housing after flowing through the second impeller. An analogous arrangement of the stages Ia, IIa, IIIa is used in the radial expander, with opposite direction of the gas flow.
