Abstract: A fishing device for preventing a line from breaking when a fish has been hooked. The fishing device comprises a hollow cylinder in which a piston is slidably mounted. The piston is provided on one of its flat surfaces with a rod that extends out of the cylinder. The free end of the rod is formed with an eyelet. A tab with a similar eyelet is provided at the opposite end of the cylinder. On its other flat surface, the piston is provided with a pair of elastic jaws that engage the end of a retaining stud that is solid with the cylinder. A coil spring is fitted around the piston rod and bears at one end on the cylinder and at its other end on the piston. To use the fishing device, the adjacent ends of two line portions are connected to the eyelets. When the jaws are engaged on the stud, the piston is solid with the cylinder and a fish may be struck as if the line were uninterrupted. Once hooked, a fish can exert considerable pulls on the line.
Abstract: Method of filtering both noisy and fluctuating input signals for a controller which is used for controlling the operation of a turbo compressor comprises obtaining an input signal from the operating device and before delivering an input signal to the controller correcting these signals through a filter whose time constant is small in one direction for example a decreasing or increasing signal amplitude directed toward the pumping limit of the operating device whose time constant is great in the other direction increasing or decreasing signal amplitude particularly away from the limit being controlled. Advantageously the filtered signal is compared with an unfiltered signal and the time constant of the filter is set as the function of the magnitude and the sign of the difference between the filtered and unfiltered signal. In addition the time constant may be reduced to a permanently pre-selected value possibly to zero when a switching threshold in a limit stages unilaterally exceeded.

The outer ring has a circling groove on its interior face and the grid rods are inserted in seating slots formed in an interior face of a one-piece inner ring (B). A tongue and groove connection is provided between the grid rods and the inner ring. The inner ring, with the grid rods inserted in the slots and retained at a radial and axial distance from each other, is encircled by a multiple-part, particularly a two-part in axial direction, outer ring.
Abstract: A process for calibrating a gas metering instrument comprises flushing a test chamber with a flushing gas and subsequently filling it with a calibrating gas having a predetermined composition of carrier substance and carrier gas. The calibrating gas does not have to be carried and made available constantly in its predetermined composition. Thereby a reduction in the volume of the gas metering instrument is obtained. For this purpose, provisions are made so that a feed device introduces a specified amount of calibrating substance from a reservoir into the heat chamber, whereupon the calibrating substance mixes with the flushing gas in the test chamber to form the calibrating gas of predetermined composition. In addition, equipment is described for implementing the process of calibrating a gas metering instrument.
Abstract: A cone for dyeing reeled yarns and for equivalent uses, with a truncated-cone wall pervious and having such a thickness so as to create, along a portion of its length, an axial through seat for the centering over the stems of the dyeing equipment and with an axial recess formed by the end part of the truncated-cone wall and an annular bottom, which axial recess is apt to receive the narrowest part of an axially adjacent cone, thereby the cones fitted onto the same stem penetrate partially one into the other.
Abstract: This invention concerns a process for cooling the crude coke oven gas drawn from a gas collecting main at a gas temperature of below 20.degree. C. after separating a collecting main flushing liquid fed to a tar separator. To prevent deposists of naphthalene on the cooling tubes of a precooler, the invention provides that the crude coke oven gas is treated before the precooler with tar or a tar-water mixture withdrawn from the tar separator. This effects a partial evaporation of the more volatile components, and the remaining tar or tar-water mixture is again withdrawn before the precooler. A flushing liquid from the edge zone of the tar separator that has definite proportions of low-solids and lighter tar is used in particular and it is fed in parallel with the cooling crude gas in the precooler.

Abstract: A process for preparing an aminoacetaldehyde dialkyl acetal which comprises reacting a halogenoacetaldehyde dialkyl acetal with ammonia or an alkylamine in an aqueous medium in the simultaneous presence of an alkali metal hydroxide or of an alkaline earth metal hydroxide, and distilling the resulting reaction mixture.
Abstract: The invention concerns a process for removing dust from coke cooled by a dry method after the coke has left the cooling zone of a cooling chamber, and a device for carrying out the process. A dust-free flushing gas is injected below the cooling zone, preferably parallel to the direction in which the coke moves when it has been cooled to below 200.degree. C., to draw the gas off above the discharge lock together with the stirred-up coke dust, and to recirculate the gas after the dust is removed from it. As an alternative, compressed air is blown through the coke after it has left the lock and while it is being transported through a vibrating machine. The coke is cooled in a dry cooling unit to below 200.degree. C. and preferably 130.degree. to 180.degree. C. The coke is then cooled outside the dry cooling unit by means of air at about 50.degree. to 90.degree. C. and preferably 70.degree. to 80.degree. C.

Abstract: A cup-like container, doubling as a sealing cap is disclosed for application to cans for soft drinks and the like. The cup-cap combination consists of a cup element rotatably mounted, directly of indirectly, on the rim of the can's lid and having a base aperture that can be positioned in juxtaposition with the opening in the lid, so as to allow the pouring of the contents, or away from said opening, so as to seal the can and prevent the spillage of the liquid. The cup element, thus, permits the consumption of the contents without resting one's lips on the rim of the can and allows the preservation of the contents, once the can has been opened.
