Abstract: A flow regulating device for gravity infusion and transfusion of fluids comprises upper and lower housing parts which include inflow and outflow channels respectively. A continuously adjustable valve is connected between the inflow and outflow channels. The outflow channel has an outlet opening which defines a valve seat and a membrane extends across the outlet opening and is movable toward and away from the outlet opening depending on pressure appearing on opposite sides of the membrane. In this way extraneous pressures, such as patient venous pressure, can be compensated for by the membrane to maintain a substantially constant flow of fluid once the valve is set.
Abstract: A process for producing a hollow fiber mass transfer module with a number of hollow fibers sealed into a housing is improved according to the invention with regard to the development of a desirable flow space in the surface area of the hollow fibers by the fact that a spacing material is applied to the outsides of the hollow fibers before their insertion into the housing (2). The thickness of the material is chosen to conform to the desired separation of the hollow fibers. The hollow fibers are arranged substantially parallel and inserted as a bundle into the housing and are fixed with the grout. The spacing material can have a layered or particulate and granular form. A hollow fiber mass transfer module produced by the process pursuant to the invention has hollow fibers suitably arranged at uniform mutual spacings.
Abstract: A plasticizing and injection group of mechanisms is detatchably secured on the injection side tool holder through a press-on and shift assembly. Releasable attachment occurs by automatically engageable and disengageable couplings each having a head, arranged at the end of an axially movable connecting element, e.g. of a piston rod of a press-on and shifting device. Slides engage the piston rod from behind a protuberance thereof slide back and forth crosswise to the connecting element. The slides are controlled by a central control unit of the machine. To perform maintenance work, the coupling is disengaged, and for better accessibility of the injection nozzle, the plasticizing and injecting group is moved away from the tool holder and can be pivoted out of the injection axis. Any manual work for releasing the attachment of the connecting element on the tool holder is eliminated.

Instead of the ratchet wrench unit, a screwdriver may be mounted removably on the tool body in such a manner that the screwdriver can be rotated by the driving member.
Abstract: In a method for the wet grinding of explosive, a homogeneous suspension with a given ratio of water to explosive of e.g. 4:1 is produced in a vessel with an agitator. The level in the vessel (10) is adjusted as the suspension is being supplied to the mill in such a way that it does fall below the level of the blades of the agitator.
Abstract: A process for synthesizing material uses an exothermic reactor which comprises a coolant shell, two concentric pipes provided within the shell, a catalyst bed packed between inner and outer ones of the concentric pipes, an introduction tube connected to the inner pipe through which a starting fluid is introduced, and a communication path enabling the fluid after the passage of the inner pipe to be passed through the catalyst bed in a direction opposite to the direction of the passage through the inner pipe, the coolant shell having an inlet and an outlet for a coolant arranged in such a way that the flow of the coolant is parallel to the flow of the fluid within the catalyst bed. The coolant on the outside and the starting fluid on the inside of the catalyst bed cools the bed in such a way as to produce a temperature distribution along the bed that follows a maximum reaction rate line (M in FIG. 1) relating the concentration of the methanol to the temperature of the starting fluid.
Abstract: A blowing device for the elimination of compactions in bulk material storage silos by using air blasts, includes a compressed air storage container, a compressed air supply duct, a compressed air outflow duct and an interposed rapid exit valve. The rapid exit valve has a conduit in which a valve closure is guided whereby the conduit turns into the compressed air supply duct forming an afflux cross-section for the valve piston over a miter cut or tube turn. The afflux cross-section is selected to be significantly greater than the outflow cross-section in the compressed air outflow duct. In this way, the flow losses, and pressure losses, otherwise customary are considerably reduced, so that extremely high flow velocities can be achieved in the compressed air outflow duct until the velocity of sound is reached. The result is a rapid impulse-like discharge of the compressed air storage container and, consequently, faultless elimination of possible compactions.
Abstract: Improved small dendrite arm spacings and good technical values, regarding the technical properties of aluminum alloys, particularly tensile strength, yield strength and elongation percent, can be reliably obtained by refining the grain of the casting to provide the smallest possible spacings between the secondary dendrite arms, by casting the aluminum alloys in a ceramic mold provided with numerous micro-sized rough spots and pores and to the inner wall of which mold after it is dried and fired has been applied a thin layer of a salt mixture in which the cations are primarily from the alkalis and/or alkaline earths and the anions are primarily from halogens and which applied salt mixture has a liquidus temperature lower than the casting temperature of the alloy.

Abstract: To improve the homogeneity of the porosity of a concave-convex pressed part with minimized mass, a pre-compressed pressed part with plane frontal surfaces is produced in a first process step. This part is then further compressed to produce a concave-convex sintered pressed part in a further process step. The pressed part can, however, also be produced in only one process step, if the requirements for homogeneous porosity distribution are less.
