Abstract: The present invention is directed to a sealing device for a rotary fluid machine having bearings which are disposed at opposite end portions in a shaft chamber and support a shaft, the sealing device being characterized by comprising a fluid seal of a fluid having a higher pressure than in the shaft chamber, the fluid seal being provided at a portion in the shaft chamber through which the shaft extends; usual dynamic pressure type bearings disposed in the middle of the fluid sealing device itself or in the vicinity of the middle thereof, the bearings being further received in a housing of the sealing device; and sealing members for partially confining a space defined between the housing and the bearings in an axial direction and a peripheral direction in order to form a closed loop; whereby the bearings are pressed downward by a differential pressure between a pressure of the fed fluid and a pressure in the outside of the shaft chamber so as to permit increasing the number of kinetic fulcrums for the shaft an
Abstract: A dental matrix band for engaging around a tooth comprises a plastic sheet member which includes a straight winding portion which can be wound into a coil and a curved tooth engaging portion which is wrapped around to form a tooth engaging band. A lock loop having inner and outer legs is engaged onto overlapping portions of the band to hold the band in position. The locking loop has interior notches which form a gingival inwardly directed bend and tooth contacting point and an elongated gingival open area to provide band's diametric adjustability prior to seating matrix on a tooth, as well as a crimp structure for crimping the occlusal edge of the band to form an occlusal concavity. The coil may be conical and polygonal in shape to more accurately receive a winding burr of a winding tool. The coil is rotatable to tighten the band around a tooth.
Abstract: In a load-sensing proportion valve including a control valve disposed in a hydraulic fluid passage extending from a master brake cylinder to rear-wheel brake cylinders, a plunger adapted to operate the conbtrol valve in response to the output fluid pressure from the master brake cylinder, and a stem formed integrally with a load-sensing lever and adapted to urge the plunger to open the control valve in accordance with a current load of a vehicle, a resilient member is interposed in a working position between the plunger and the stem so as to prevent the occurrence of noises from possible contacts between these plunger and stem, when set together.

Abstract: The invention provides a method and apparatus for quantity controlled, continuous liquid exchange in distillation and absorption refrigerant circuits. In the method on the one hand the pressure of a volumetric liquid flow, to be supplied to the high pressure zone at a defined rate, of enriched starting solution is raised from a low level to a high pressure level, while on the other hand the mutually separated liquid flows (which in sum are equal in amount) to be removed from the high pressure zone, of the product condensate and of the depleted solution, are transferred from a high pressure level to a low pressure level. In a solution exchange apparatus the method utilizes mechanical energy of the liquid flows (which are to be depressurized and to be removed from the apparatus) and only requires a small external boosting device to overcome internal frictional and intercomponent leakage.
Abstract: A camera light arrangement includes a light having a rectangular housing and a cylindrical crown connected to the housing. An opening connects the interior of the housing to the interior of the crown. A light bulb support is held in the housing for supporting a light bulb through the opening. The crown comprises a plurality of coaxial rings which define at least one annular slot therebetween. An octogonal accessory frame is removably engaged to the slot and carries accessories, such as opposite pairs of barn door assemblies each comprising a pair of polygonal barn doors. Two of the barn doors are in the form of elongated rectangles which are each pivotably mounted at a single point and the remaining two of the barn doors are substantially triangular in shape and are pivotably mounted at separate locations to the frame. This permits the formation of rectangular openings and slot-shaped openings for light emanating from the crown.
