  • Patent number: 4734265
Abstract: In a gas generator for a vehicle protection system having an outer jacket and an inner housing attached thereto through an edge union and consisting of an ignition carrier and a thin-walled propellant vessel, which inner housing together with a primer and a propellant charge forms a hermetically encapsulated separate structural unit, an edge lip of the ignition carrier bent radially inward over the collar type enlarged propellant vessel edge is provided, which, when the inner housing is installed in the outer jacket, is pressed axially against a stepped abutment surface of the outer jacket and is thereby held in tight press-fit engagement on the collar-like vessel edge. Due to this the gas generator has, in terms of manufacture, a very simple construction in the region of the ignition carrier attachment to the propellant vessel but yet is highly burstproof.

  • Patent number: 4733985
Abstract: The binder mechanism for loose-leaf binders or file folders comprises a flat, oblong support plate on which are disposed at a standardized mutual distance at least two binder yokes, each consisting of a fixed yoke rod and pivotable yoke part, which is provided with a crank arm. The pivotable yoke parts are operable jointly because they are interconnected by a coupling rod disposed in the support plate. The support plate is made of plastic and has a cavity which is open at its underside and in which the crank arms and the coupling rod are accommodated. The privotable yoke parts are mounted in mounting bushings integrally molded to the likewise plastic crank arms mounted in hollow cylindrical bearing lugs or bearing holes of the support plate. The coupling rod and/or at least one of the crank arms are associated with a releasable detent or locking device which arrests the movable yoke parts jointly in their pivoted position forming the yoke shape.

  • Patent number: 4734607
Abstract: A miniature motor having a plurality of commutator segments with commutator terminals which are connected to rotor windings. The commutator terminals are disposed on an insulating cylinder which is fixedly fitted to a motor rotating shaft, and a spark-quenching resistor connects each of the commutator segments. This resistor is a disc-shaped electrically conductive rubber ring which is fitted to the insulating cylinder so that the end face of the disc-shaped ring comes in contact with the commutator segment and commutator terminals and is brought into intimate contact with the commutator terminals by heating.

  • Patent number: 4733516
Abstract: The present invention relates to an apparatus for filling bags with a material and for sealing them, and it can carry the bags in a direction of a bag thickness. A first feature of the present invention resides in that, in the case that the bags are arranged between a pair of chain conveyors disposed in parallel vertical planes, they are gripped by plural pairs of grippers mounted on a pair of axes extending through each rectangular parallelepiped carrier. Further, a second feature of the present invention is that the apparatus according to the present invention is equipped with nozzles for introducing a compressed gas into the bags and pressure gauges for measuring a pressure within the bags in order to detect whether or not each bag is normally gripped by the grippers. Furthermore, another feature of the present invention is that a return pipe is fixed to a filling device so that the filling material may be returned to a storage tank, without being discharged therethrough, by closing the filling nozzle.

  • Patent number: 4732096
Abstract: A sewing station has a sewing machine and a feed device with a holder for the product being stitched that is driven by at least one drive mechanism to execute a predeterminable course of motion. To prevent damage or destruction of components of the stitching area from deviations of the holder for the produce being stitched from the predetermined course of motion, the stitching station has a monitor that includes a marking and a sensor conforming to the form of stitch to be made. These are movable relative to one another as a function of the motion of the holder for the product being stitched. The sensor is connected to a control circuit to emit a switching signal after the occurrence of an error.

  • Patent number: 4732587
Abstract: Devices for breaking down a gas mixture by means of an absorbent permit the production of an enriched product, e.g. oxygen for technical processes or for ventilation. During the operation, the device is switched periodically between two operating stages, in which the gas mixture is fed to one of two tanks with absorbent, while the other is regenerated at the same time. The charging of the absorbent becomes clear with the pressure rise in the gas mixture in front of the tanks. As a characteristic curve is considered the hyperbolap=K/TwithK as a system constantp as the optimum adsorption pressure, andT as the optimum adsorption time.In the control, a timing unit releases a multiplier in which the value K/T is constantly formed, which corresponds then to the respective time related optimum adsorption pressure. In a comparator, this signal is compared with the signal of a sensor in the gas mixture in front of the tanks. In case of agreements, the tanks are switched on the characteristic curve.

  • Patent number: 4732322
Abstract: An arrangement for the retention of an ultrasonic atomizer has the advantage of little influence on the vibration system due to the fuel supply connections and reduced bearing surface of the ultrasonic atomizer. The construction permits quick installation through since the retention is effected with a clamp. The fuel supply occurs via a bore opening into an annular channel in the structural part in which the ultrasonic atomizer is mounted. The atomizer is retained by a small bearing surface. A radial bore in a lug of the ultrasonic atomizer is a component part of the horn of the atomizer.

  • Patent number: 4730337
Abstract: In a direct-current arc furnace, the service life of the bottom electrode can be extended substantially, if the cooling unit cooling the bottom electrode during the melting operations is not switched off during longer stoppages, as has been customary thus far, but continues to be operated at a reduced cooling output during at least a part of the stoppage. The cooling unit is preferably controlled during the stoppage according to such a program and in dependence of the respective measured temperature of the bottom electrode, so that the temperature of the bottom electrode is maintained within a preset range.
