Abstract: The speed of a motor or a moving body driven by a motor is detected by interpolating by an estimated speed, the speed between pulse signals generated by a pulse generator. The estimated speed is obtained by updating a variable representing the torque disturbance obtained by compensating for a variable representing a motor torque by a variable representing a torque disturbance synchronously with a clock pulse of a predetermined interval, and the initial value of the estimated speed and a compensatory amount of the torque disturbance is updated each time the pulse generator generates a pulse. In the prior art, the mean speed of the present pulse signal section was regarded as the initial value in the immediately following pulse signal section, while in the present invention, the real (spontaneous) speed is obtained when the pulse generator generates a pulse signal, and this real speed is regarded as the initial value of the estimated speed of the immediately following pulse signal section.

Abstract: A safety device on a quill with a sensing head fixably connected thereto interrupts a positioning motion of the quill in case of a collision of the sensing head. For this purpose there is fastened to the quill a mounting plate 6, on which rests a bearing plate on at least three balls 20. The sensing head is fixable to the bearing plate. Several switches and switching cams assigned to them are offset relative to the balls on the bearing plate. In case of a collision of the sensing head, the bearing plate is deflected relative to the mounting plate, thereby causing at least one switch to interrupt the driving motion of the quill.
Abstract: A recreational device for producing the thrill of a series of consecutive free falls, which includes a housing, a shock absorbing cushion throughout the bottom of the housing, an inwardly extending peripheral deck near the top of the housing arranged to provide a launching platform for allowing persons to jump into the housing, and a plurality of horizontal planar non-woven nets of elastic bands arranged at different levels within the housing with each net spanning the whole horizontal cross-section of the housing. The elastic bands are randomly arranged within each individual net so as to leave spans between the bands which are insufficiently small to prevent a person from passing through the nets without bouncing on each consecutive net, the elastic bands having an elasticity sufficient to permit persons to manually space the bands to jump from a higher net of bands to a lower net of bands.

Abstract: A sliding plate of a gate valve is guided in guide grooves formed in the region of a flow passage of the two-part gate valve housing. Each guide groove is bounded on both sides [upstream and downstream] by guide strips which extend into the flow channel. The guide strips have axially outwardly directed chamfers, and each such strip has a circular arcuate shaped recess. The recess, which starts at the upper entry point of the guide groove into the flow channel, extends to the lower third of the guide strip. The maximum depth of the recess is 3-5 mm less than the depth (t) of the guide groove 4b. The guide grooves 8a, 8b provide problem-free guiding of the sliding plate when said plate is moved to its closed position, particularly when said plate is moving through the lower third of the flow channel; nonetheless, the guide grooves 8a and 8b present only minimal flow resistance.
