Abstract: An intermediate portal protecting an intercommunicating gangway between two coupled vehicles, particularly railroad cars. The portal comprises two mirror-symmetrical parts which are detachably connected to each other. The portal is closed on all sides and mounted for lateral displacement relative to the cars. On a straight track, the portal contour is flush with the contour of the cars. The parting surfaces between the portal and the respective car are designed to maintain a definite narrow gap therebetween under any operating conditions, as long as a supporting and guiding structure can follow these parting surfaces in parallel motion. To this end, the invention provides a supporting and guiding arm by which the portal is guided both horizontally and vertically by means of cam tracks conformable to the parting surfaces which are preferably spherical.

Abstract: The invention concerns fluid power connector fittings for joining a piece of elastic hose with a fixed structure such as bulkhead or with another piece of hose. The novel connector fitting may be thought of as comprising two sections each having a shank adapted for connection with a piece of hose or with a screw threaded hole in a structure. If the two shanks are at an angle to each other there is a swivel joint between them. If they are in line they are made integrally.
Abstract: A chuck for machine tools has basic jaws which engage with attachment jaws which are exchangeably retained and can be fed by means of a pallet and attached through a relative rotation mechanism between the jaws, each basic jaw is provided on its face with a specially shaped projection and each attachment jaw is provided with a corresponding, laterally open recess. The radially oriented surfaces of these parts are concentric to the longitudinal axis of the chuck body and furthermore, the attachment jaws are locked to the basic jaws secure against rotation by a holding member in a chucking position. This makes it possible to exchange the attachment jaws easily and quickly with the aid of machine motions and, in addition, there is an assurance of safe support of the attachment jaws on the basic jaws.

Abstract: Device for maneuvering a fast connection tangential button operated in the tranmissions having splined profile clutches or joints, comprising an annular member encircling the body of the joint and having an internal profile making up a thrust surface able to act on the button as a consequence of an angular displacement of the annular member around the joint body; the reaction spring acting on the button angularly urges said annular member in a direction opposite to that causing the release action upon the button.
Abstract: The two ends of a band of a marking tag for game, defined by male part and female part, are provided with means for permanent attachment to one another by simple pressure. Other means on the perimeter of band permit indication of the date of the tagging using a simple sharp object.
Abstract: Solar cells with photoanodes based on CuInS.sub.2 semiconductor material produced by specially adapted methods, permit the transformation of light into electric energy with a good efficiency. The semiconductor material according to the invention comprises inclusions of extraneous phases, namely In.sub.2 S.sub.3, In and/or Cu.sub.2-x S (0.ltoreq.x.ltoreq.1) in a concentration between 5 per thousand and 5 percent, in the CuInS.sub.2. The energy gap of this material is 1.5 eV. Working electrodes for photoelectrochemical solar cells or solid state solar cells can be constructed.

Abstract: A short-stroke clamping element for exerting a clamping or holding force on a workpiece has a bar-like form with its length direction normal to the direction of the clamping force to be produced. There is an internal pressure space that is put under pressure for operation of the device. The pressure space is sealed off peripherally and extends essentially along the full length of the clamping element. At least one of the sides of the element forms a claiming face constituted by a wall that is able to be moved outwards by admitting compressed air to the pressure space.
Abstract: A sewing machine with a sensing device positioned ahead of a stitch-forming point, senses changes in the thickness of a material being fed by the sewing machine. In order to determine the difference in thickness, the sensing device has a pickup foot capable of vertical movement with a sensing surface that lies on the material adjacent the point the stitch is formed. A sensing lever is movably mounted on the pick-up foot with a sensing arm that lies on the material ahead of the sensing surface, a measuring member detects the relative movement between the pickup foot and the sensing lever.
Abstract: A combination needle for the axillary plexus brachialis anesthesia comprises a plastic tube and a solid steel mandrel that can be inserted in this plastic tube. The mandrel has a puncturing tip without any facets or cutting edges, which is formed either by a level partially ground surface extending at an angle to the mandrel axis that is elliptical in form and forms a wedge angle of at least 45.degree. with the mandrel axis, or by a right or oblique cone with right or bulging mantle surface and with a cone angle of at least 60.degree.. The handle of the steel mandrel is equipped with partially a ground surface and has, on one side surface, a visible and palpable mark with a fixed angular location corresponding to the angular location of a partially ground surface of the tip, so that it can be used to determine the angular location of the partially ground surface accurately, at all times.
Abstract: An apparatus for manufacturing a tire comprises a former for forming a carcass ply or the like to a cylindrical configuration, a bead holder for placing bead cores on the cylindrical carcass ply and then effecting assembly of a carcass ply-bead core structure. A drum receives the structure from the former and effects assembly of a cylindrical carcass layer and then deforms the latter into a trochoidal configuration to obtain a green tire. The carcass ply located between both the bead cores on the structure is caused to expand and the structure is placed on the drum, the bead cores are wrapped with the end portions of the carcass ply and then the green tire for the radial tire is assembled by attaching side wall members or the like.

It consists of multiple walls and framework frames which can be folded or rotated to fold the container compact. It is formed into a box when it contains goods or materials and folded compact when it is not in use.
Abstract: Gas filters protect the user of respirator equipment against the inspiration of harmful gases. The protection decreases with the use of the filter. To alert the user in time to the imminent exhaustion of the filter material, the respirator is equipped with an indicator that makes the remaining time of use visible through optical characteristics such as color change. The indicator provides for the inclusion of an indicator granulate loosely filled between two discs and permeable to the respiration gas, which changes its color as it detects a gas to be filtered out. The indicator is located in a container open to the gas flow which is covered by an inlet screen and it extends to a given immersion depth into the filter material. The immersion depth guarantees that the respiration gas flows uniformly through the indicator with each inspiration.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for outlining the manipulation environment of a duty machine automatically determines its working cycles. The method includes a laser pointer (2) which measures the direction and distance of the laser beam with respect to an object. By means of the pointer there is registered a set of points (1), which can be formed of separate pointes or of continuous lines and which gives a rough illustration of the entire manipulation space, i.e. its free space and the objects located therein. The set of points is completed to form a model of the manipulation environment both by means of geometric plane figures (primitive volumes)(3) sent from the user's keyboard, and by means of mathematical algorithms, in order to match the spatial planes and curves with the given set of points. The automatically determined trajectories are corrected during the working performance according to the feedback information received from the object under operation.
