Abstract: Briquettes made from bituminous or sub-bituminous coal or peat are produced by grinding the coal, mixing it with a binder and compacting the mixture. They are then carbonized in a continuous process in a shaft oven. The coal may be predried and the finished briquettes may be preheated, with a subsequent drying and hardening. The carbonization is effected in two stages in an indirectly heated shaft oven, with the evolved gas being taken off about at the mid-height of the oven shaft, processed, and used for heating in the second, high-temperature stage. The flue gases from this high-temperature stage are used for heating in the first stage and for preheating. The second or high-temperature stage is followed by a cooling stage where the gases evolved in the second stage, and mainly comprising hydrogen are used and circulated. The evolved gas in excess is continuously removed from the cooling circuit.

Abstract: A guide housing as a component of a linear actuator is made up of a barrel and two platforms integrally formed thereon and running the length thereof. The transition or join between each platform and the barrel is formed by a constricted part or waist of the guide housing. The outer face of the guide housing is convex over the barrel and concave over the constriction. The outer face of the barrel may have flats with grooves therein. The platforms have longitudinal holes or grooves in which fittings are adjustably mounted for setting and monitoring the stroke of the actuator.
Abstract: A device to push a wheel flange hub or splined hub of motor vehicles out of a shaft bearing press-fitted in a bearing cylinder is of simple design and easy to handle and, in addition, adjustable to different diameters of various bearing cylinders. The device includes two each semi-cylindrical spreader sectors supported on the one hand by axial pins in eccentric axial holes in a supporting member resembling an internally threaded ring so they can swivel while having at their opposite ends projections which project radially outward and can be inserted in form closing fashion into an annular groove of the bearing cylinder. A threaded spindle equipped with a wrench engagement head and a spreading cone is adjustably screwed into a central, tapped hole of the supporting member by means of which threaded spindle the spreader sectors can be spread apart. Seated in a central, tapped hole of the threaded spindle is a pressure screw with a pressure transmitting part and a wrench head.
Abstract: A guide device for the workpieces on a sewing machine comprises driven guide wheels arranged one above and one below the workpiece, and revolving in a plane extending crosswise to a sewing direction for the workpieces. The guide wheels are each mounted on a low-mass rocker which are, in turn, mounted on a support. Due to the low-mass construction of the rockers, they form together with the respective guide wheels, vibratory systems uncoupled from the respective supports, whereby a uniform frictional contact between the guide wheels and the workpieces is achieved.

Abstract: An apparatus for the peel off feeding of stacked printed items such as newspapers, periodicals, booklets or the like, comprises a number of open-topped containers for receiving the stacked items. There is furthermore a peel off station into which the containers are moved for the removal of the printed items therein. Each such container for printed items has a bottom shelf with device for guiding it vertically and is slanted towards a removal side, at least in the feeding station. At least during the time it is in the peel off station the shelf in each container may be driven vertically so as to bring the uppermost printed item therein into the range of action of a suction device which cooperates with a scoop plate in lifting and sliding off the items from the top of the container one by one. The scoop plate is able to be moved between a position in which it somewhat overlaps the top edge of the container in the peel off position and a position retracted therefrom.
Abstract: A displaceable inclined hoist has conveyor cars which can be moved up and down along two tracks by cable lines driven by windlasses, where the tracks together with the windlasses are located on a support construction, which is mounted in the region of its upper end around a horizontal axle on a displaceable support structure. The support construction can be pivoted in the perpendicular plane with the aid of a drive where the pair of tracks, which have different track gauges, lie one above the other in their middle region and lie in one plane in their end regions. The pairs of tracks lying one above the other, together with the support construction, have a separation distance from each other which provides clearance for the passage of the conveyor cars.
Abstract: A device for counting and sorting coins belonging to a set of coins with a guideway 8 tangentially connected to a horizontal coin plate 3 is to be developed for separating foreign coins 11' through a sort-out opening 16. To this end, and behind a coin identifying device 14 and immediately in front of the sort-out opening 16, a diversion element 18 is movably arranged for the coins 11' identified as foreign or counterfeit coins by the coin identification device 14, with its front edge 35 arranged at a distance of at least the width of guide rail 17 from the guiding edge 9, with the diversion element 18 able to be triggered by the coin identification device 14. The diversion element 18, which in its active position is brought into the path of movement of coins 11, 11', diverts the coins from guiding edge 9 by at least a distance that is equal to or greater than the width of guide rail 17. In this manner, the foreign coins 11' to be separated out can drop through the sort-out opening 16.
Abstract: Sewing machine with a control for the movement of a workholder. For the formation of edge parallel seams when sewing on labels with seam sections extending parallel to the movement axes of a cross slide system carrying the work holder, there are arranged at uniform distance from the stitch hole four transmitted light sensors, of which always only the one which can recognize the crosswise extending following edge of a seam section is switchable into readiness for operation. After a signal has been given by a sensor, the respective drive motor of the cross slide system is controlled by means of a microcomputer in such a way that the respective seam section ends exactly in the intended corner. Because of the work related feed control, a sewing program is not needed. Besides, the control automatically adapts itself to different label dimensions.
Abstract: To obtain a defined reset for horizontal articulations for an elastic articulation of a central buffer coupling, if at least one elastic ring is used, the inner part of the housing as well as the drawbar have the greater axis of their cross-section in the vertical in the installed position. The coupling which is secured on the vehicle and a drawbar which traverses the housing are supported by a ring of rubber, plastic or similar resilient material which is prestressed normal to the coupling axle of the coupling and arranged between the housing and the drawbar. The drawbar and a side of the housing have peripheral cams directed toward each other. The housing and the drawbar have an oval cross-section and the rings are spaced by cams formed on the drawbar and portions of the housing, the ring and the housing and the drawbar have a major axis of their cross-section extending along the vertical in their installed position.

Abstract: A tool for measuring rolled-up material comprises a housing with a measuring thread spool rotatably mounted in the housing, having a supply of measuring thread thereon, which is delivered out of the housing through a rotatable delivery tube which is angled to one side so that the tip of the tube may be passed around the material to be measured after the measuring material is anchored to the end of the material being measured. The measuring thread is advantageously passed over the thread spool which may be cylindrical and of uniform diameter or may vary in diameter from one side to the other. The thread spool is part of a counter which records the length of measuring thread that is fed out, preferably in feet and inches when the thread spool is made in the form of a cone measuring thread is guided on each side of the spool so that it passes over selective thicknesses of the spool and, thus, the feed-out speed is varied and so is the counting in dependence on how the thread is guided over the spool.
