Abstract: A cycle respirator for pressure operation makes sure that in the respiratory cycle a positive pressure relative to the ambient atmosphere always prevails. During the exhaling phase this positive pressure is undesirable because he (the user) is additionally burdened unnecessarily during exhalation. The invention includes a sensor connected with a measuring circuit which can distinguish between inhalation phase and exhalation phase and activates through a measuring circuit an auxiliary device by which the positive pressure is reduced during the exhalation phase. Across an electric resistance path a voltage difference drops which varies in accordance with the stroke movements of the breathing bag. This varying voltage difference is used as a measurement signal for the switching of the auxiliary device, whereby the positive pressure in the respiratory cycle is created in the respiratory cycle only during the inhaling phase, but is reduced during the exhaling phase.
Abstract: A method of dry cooling red-hot coke in a vessel having an antechamber with a small discharge leading to a vertically elongated cooling chamber which is of larger dimension than the discharge and with both the cooling chamber and the antechamber having fluid cooling tubes in one or more walls and the ceiling thereof and also having cooling tube bank diverging downwardly from the discharge of the antechamber into the cooling chamber, comprises directing the red-hot coke to be cooled downwardly through the antechamber and into the cooling chamber so as to maintain a charge of coke in the cooling chamber to the conical charge cone of the cooling tubes adjacent the top of the cooling chamber which extends downwardly below the discharge, thereafter circulating a coolant through the cooling tubes to effect transfer of sensible heat from the coke to the fluid and directing a cooling gas from the bottom of the cooling upwardly through the coke and above the entire area of the coke charging cone and then into an exhau

Abstract: In conventional attachments of target plates for cathode sputtering the danger always existed that they will become plastically deformed at the operating temperature and detach from a cooling support. For secure attachment without fastening means on the front side to be disintegrated, the target plate according to the invention presents on its back a cutout (4) in which there is inserted by means of a mechanical spring union, e.g. by means of a lock ring (8), an auxiliary body (6) of a material of higher strength and higher softening point than the material to be disintegrated, which body has a threaded bore (12) for attachment of the target plate on a support (1).

Abstract: A waste heat boiler system includes a vertically elongated waste heat boiler having an upper portion with a waste gas inlet and a lower portion with an exhaust line connection which in addition to its vapor generating tubes includes evaporator tube nests and a water preheater. The waste gases are received from a dry coke cooling vessel and they are delivered through a separator by a blower to the lower end of the coke cooling vessel for flow upwardly through the hot coke. The superheater is mounted over the waste heat boiler and has a connection through a controllable valve to the top of the waste heat boiler. The superheater includes its own burner and air and external gas supply are supplied to the combustion chamber for the superheater along with bypass portion of the circulated waste gases. The steam generated by the boiler is delivered from a steam cylinder or drum in the superheated tubes of the superheater.

Abstract: A rotor having N and S poles is rotatively supported through bearings from the lower end of an electrode to be immersed in a water sample in which dissolved oxygen is measured. A rotor driving means is disposed adjacent to the rotor, the means generally comprising a magnet which is so constructed that the N and S poles thereof alternately approach the rotor. The rotor follows the rotation of the rotor driving means to rotate in and stir the water sample.

Abstract: A compass saw comprises a drive unit for a saw blade holder carrying a saw blade, and a base plate supporting the drive unit. The base plate has on its underside a glide shoe lined on a bottom face with a contact sole. The guide shoe is provided to guide the blade at the level of the base plate, more particularly close above the contact sole, laterally to an extract such as to prevent it from deviating from the desired course, as well from canting and coming into off position.

Abstract: A removable handle for portable, automatic weapons is disclosed, which allows the easy grasp of the weapon and its transportation, without affecting the line of sight. The handle is provided, at one extremity, with a spring-loaded dowel for engagement in a cavity provided in the base of the rear sight and, at the opposed extremity, with a blocking bolt or pawl which dove-tails and couples with the forward attachment of the weapon. The blocking bolt or pawl prevents the accidental disengagement of the handle from the body of the weapon.
Abstract: A double coupling comprising two flexible couplings are connected to each other through an intermediate hollow shaft and have outer parts on each and each with a hub and radially extending arms between which rubber blocks shaped as ring segments are inserted in a prestressed state. The rubber blocks each comprise a central, radially inwardly narrowing wedge to which two rubber members carrying plates on their free surfaces are symmetrically vulcanized on either side. The wedges are connected to corresponding claws of the intermediate shaft. The wedge and claws, along with the intermediate shaft serves as a common hub portion and form an inner part of the flexible coupling. One hub is secured to a solid shaft and the other hub is secured to a hollow shaft. The solid shaft extends through the hollow shaft and they move relative to each other, even in misaligned positions. As compared to similar prior art couplings for transmitting comparable power, the weight of such a doubling coupling is reduced.
Abstract: A buried grid structure is produced in a semiconductor material particularly a silicon wafer, while using a metallic grid mask. The buried grid is formed directly within the semiconductor material by contradoping ion implantation by means of a high energy accelerator through the metallic grid mask. The bars or ribs of the metallic grid mask stop the ions passing therethrough so that two vertically separated and laterally offset buried grid structures are produced. By beveling the periphery of the wafer, buried conductive structures are formed at the same time as connections between the buried grid structures and a control electrode provided on the back side of the wafer.

Abstract: A floor covering cutter for cutting floor coverings such as carpets, has a shell handle (3) consisting of several parts and a cutting blade (6) that is gripped with its cutting head at an angle of deployment with respect to the longitudinal axis of the shell handle between the shell parts of the handle that are connected with a screw. They enclose a storage area (12) for spare blades on the inside and present a gripping contour on the outside. The cutting blade is positioned with its cutting head at a slight forward angle of deployment with respect to the theoretical mid longitudinal axis (7) of the handle shell, while the handle shell, on the end opposite from the cutting blade (6), presents a steadily expanding outer cross-section (4) with flattened contours in the area adjoining the gripping surface (3). In the storage area (12) are kept blades standing on one edge. The two shell parts (1,2) are connected by a joint and held together by a knurled screw (10).
