  • Patent number: 4677750
Abstract: A guide arrangement for portable power saws is made up of a guide plate adapted to be placed on the work and a stand plate fixed to the saw. The guide plate possesses a raised rail running in the feed direction of the saw. In use, the saw with the stand plate is placed on the guide plate so that a socket in the stand plate fits round the rail and the stand plate may then be moved along the guide plate on the rail, the guiding section straddling the rail and guiding the stand plate on the rail. The stand plate is fitted with a backlash limiter having an operating part acting against the side of the rail for reducing play between the rail and the stand plate. This means that the saw is guided in the length direction parallel to the rail of the guide plate and it is possible for straight cuts to be sawn with a high degree of accuracy without any danger of the saw running askew. The backlash limiter may take the form of a spring loaded member or one driven by a screw or threaded rod.

  • Patent number: 4677926
Abstract: A drive device for positioning a sewing machine main shaft and driven by a positioning motor into a needle-up position when it is stopped for example, after the thread is cut comprises a removable drive lever member which has a tappet portion which engages wtih the shoulder of a cam which is mounted on the main shaft for rotation therewith. The drive lever is driven by a device such as a fluid pressure operated piston cylinder combination and when it moves the tappet engages the cam face and rotates the cam with the main shaft to a second position which is predetermined. The mechanism also includes a stop which is effected between a face of the cam and a lever member which is shifted by the drive lever to stop the backward movement of the cam with the main shaft at a precise second position.

  • Patent number: 4678426
Abstract: This transfer nozzle consists of a nozzle body with a disk type cylindrical center part (21) and two axial nozzle cones (22,23). On a part of their height the nozzle cones (22, 23) are embraced by a sleeve-like collar (25, 26) and within the collars there are several axial passage openings (27, 28). A radial passage opening (30) through the center part (21) serves to receive a heating cartridge. The nozzle body (21, 22, 23) is supported by means of the outermost portions of the two collars (25, 26) on the one hand in the supporting basket (2) and on the other hand in the tool part (5), so that little heat can be lost to the cooled machine parts. The nozzle cavity (11) forms an air cushion around the center part (21) which also has a heat-insulating effect. Such a transfer nozzle has a low structural height and can keep the molding material warm from within, and by the axial arrangement of two nozzle cones the material is ejected with each molding.

  • Patent number: 4678480
Abstract: A process for producing a synthesis gas containing methane and using a reactor having a fuel containing carbon comprises directing gasification gases in a circulation system through a bed of fuel containing carbon to form a synthesis gas containing methane and carbon dioxide. Thereafter, the synthesis gas is cooled in a regenerator and subjected to the gas separation wherein the syngas is subjected to a gas cleansing by means of a pressure change absorption in a gas scrubber to remove most of the methane and carbon dioxide and its water content is increased. The separated gas is then heated and subsequently the portion is returned into the system together with the waste gases and fuel containing carbon. The process includes a 4-pole heater which includes the first heat exchange passage for the syngas which is cooled and a second heat exchange passage for the recirculation of the syngas and is further cooled and passed through a scrubber.

  • Patent number: 4677885
Abstract: A face driver for centering and driving a workpiece to be chucked in a lathe comprises a support provided with a dead center member and several driving pins around the dead center member so as to be movable and pressable against the workpiece by a compression member acting against a pressure plate, the pressure plate is retained so as to be floating in the axial directions of the support, and it has parts or arms associated with the driving pins which are elastically deformable. This causes squareness errors of the workpiece to be chucked to be compensated for automatically at low structural cost.

  • Patent number: 4676704
Abstract: An apparatus for connection to a machine tool having a rotating head and a fixed part is capable of automatically moving a cutting tool radially while a spindle carrying the cutting tool rotates. The apparatus includes a body which is engageable to the tool machine so as to remain fixed with respect to a central axis. A spindle is rotatably mounted to the body and is connected to the head of the tool machine for rotation. A slide holder is fixed to the spindle and carries a toolholder for sliding movement in a radial direction with respect to the central axis. An electric motor is mounted in the non-rotating body and drives a gear train which can radially move the toolholder while the spindle, slide holder and toolholder rotate. A position transducer is engaged with the electric motor for determining its position and thus the position of the toolholder on the spindle.

  • Patent number: 4675503
Abstract: An electric resistor element which can be installed on the outer surface of a filter such as the oil or fuel filter of a combustion engine. The electric resistor element is designed especially for improving the cold starting of a combustion engine. It is suited to be employed particularly during the cold seasons, and apart from improving the cold starting, it is also designed for heating the fuel such as diesel oil before feeding it into the engine. In connection to the oil filter, onto its outer surface there is arranged the electric resistor element in such a fashion that the caloric capacity produced therein is conducted as as effectively possible into the oil filter proper and therealong further into the oil contained in the filter. The electric resistor element is formed as a wide and thin tape and attached around the oil filter, preferably in the vicinity of the filter ring between the oil filter and the engine or the like.

  • Patent number: 4674266
Abstract: The present invention relates to an apparatus for filling bags with a material and for sealing them, and it can carry the bags in a direction of a bag thickness. A first feature of the present invention resides in that, in the case that the bags are arranged between a pair of chain conveyors disposed in parallel vertical planes, they are gripped by plural pairs of grippers mounted on a pair of axes extending through each rectangular parallelepiped carrier. Further, a second feature of the present invention is that the apparatus according to the present invention is equipped with nozzles for introducing a compressed gas into the bags and pressure gauges for measuring a pressure within the bags in order to detect whether or not each bag is normally gripped by the grippers. Furthermore, another feature of the present invention is that a return pipe is fixed to a filling device so that the filling material may be returned to a storage tank, without being discharged therethrough, by closing the filling nozzle.
