  • Patent number: 7236750
Abstract: Techniques to correct for phase and amplitude mismatches in a radio device in order to maintain channel symmetry when communicating with another device using MIMO radio communication techniques. Correction for the amplitude and phase mismatches among the plurality of transmitters and plurality of receivers of a device may be made at baseband using digital logic (such as in the modem) in the receiver path, the transmitter path or both paths of that device. In a device, amplitude and phase offsets are determined among the plurality of radio transmitter and radio receiver paths by measuring phase and amplitude responses when supplying a signal to a transmitter in a first antenna path of the device and coupling the radio signal from a first antenna to a second antenna path of that device where the signal is downconverted by a receiver associated with the second antenna path, and similarly coupling a signal from the second antenna path to the first antenna path.

  • Patent number: 7236064
Abstract: The present invention relates a laminated balun transformer with an improved insertion loss characteristic in a pass band. The laminated balun transformer includes a first strip line and a third strip line form one coupler, a second strip line and a fourth strip line form another coupler, and a conductive non-ground electrode formed at an intermediate position between the third strip line and the fourth strip line. The non-ground electrode forms a ground by electromagnetic coupling between the third strip line and the fourth strip line. With the configuration, insertion loss in an operation band is reduced.

  • Patent number: 7234456
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for feeding projectile balls into the ball chamber of a handgun, especially into the ball chamber of a paintball gun, having a ball container with an outlet port, a feeder tube between the outlet port and the ball chamber, and an essentially cylindrical feeder with an axis for feeding the balls from the ball container to the feeder tube. The device comprises a flexible element that is disposed inside the ball container adjacent to the outlet port. A first end of the flexible element is fixed to the ball container and the flexible element is essentially rigid in the direction of the axis. Balls that are not in the correct position when approaching the outlet port are deflected back into the ball container, instead of hitting the edge of the outlet port. This way, jamming of the balls and explosion by excessive pressure are prevented.

  • Patent number: 7233624
Abstract: An analog/digital gain control device avoid some of the requirements associated with the nature of a closed-loop AGC circuits and which meets the remaining requirements without much difficulty uses an analog to digital conversion method that increases the number of effective ADC bits by compressing the baseband input analog signal using a logarithmic circuit. After the compressed analog signal is converted into a digital signal, a digital anti-log process or look-up table (LUT) is used to expand the digital signal back to the original linear scale. The word size of the output of the anti-log process is larger than the input word size due to the nature of the anti-log function. To reduce the word size of the digital signal an open loop normalization technique can be applied.

  • Patent number: 7230938
Abstract: A spread-spectrum code division multiple access interference cancellation method for a base station reduces interference in a direct sequence CDMA receiver having N chip-code channels. The interference canceller despreads the spread-spectrum CDMA signal as a plurality of despread signals. A timed version of a plurality of chip-code signals, spread-spectrum processes the plurality of despread signals, respectively, with a chip-code-signal corresponding to a respective despread signal. For recovering a code channel using an ith chip-code-signal, subtracting circuits subtract from the spread-spectrum CDMA signal, each of the N?1 spread-spectrum-processed-despread signals thereby generating a subtracted signal. The N?1 spread-spectrum-processed-despread signals do not include the spread-spectrum-processed-despread signal of the ith channel of the spread-spectrum CDMA signal. The channel correlator or channel-matched filter despreads the subtracted signal.

  • Patent number: 7230815
Abstract: A multilayered chip capacitor (MLCC) includes internal electrodes and external electrodes formed to be perpendicular to the internal electrodes, whereby parasitic capacitance is reduced, resulting in no parallel resonance frequency effects. In addition, the MLCC has a capacitor structure, which provides a first surface and a second surface formed in a stacking direction of the dielectric layers in the capacitor body as a top surface and a bottom surface. Hence, in the thin capacitors having the same size, the number of internal electrode layers is increased, thereby reducing the equivalent series resistant (ESR) and equivalent series inductance (ESL). Further, the printed circuit board (PCB) having an embedded MLCC is easily manufactured.

  • Patent number: 7227865
Abstract: In a communication between a mobile unit (UE) and a gateway general packet radio system (GGRS) support node (GGSN) wherein resource reservations setup protocol (RSVP) capabilities are shared therebetween by a session setup mechanism, preferably session initiation protocol (SIP) in which RSVP capabilities of the UE and GGSN are defined and exchanged. In addition, the SIP is utilized to identify the preferred RSVP mode of operation by negotiations. The SIP is utilized to indicate that: the UE is RSVP capable; those media flows which are based on RSVP; the preferred mode of operation i.e. either UE based RSVP signaling or GGSN proxy based RSVP signaling and to communication a final setup mode for RSVP signaling to the UE from policy control function (PCF). The SIP may also be employed to enable the UE and network to indicate intended quality of service (QoS) protocol during a call setup procedure.

  • Patent number: 7222617
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for feeding ball-like ammunition, so-called paint balls, into the projectile chamber of a sporting arm. The magazine is arranged separately from the arm and is connected to same by means of a feeder tube. A motor-driven feeder feeds the balls from the ball container into the feeder tube. In so doing, a spring element stores the traction from the motor, so that, even when the motor stops, balls can still be transported using the energy stored in the spring element. The traction from the motor is transmitted via a connection or clutch consisting of a spring element and a transmission element. Protrusions are arranged on both the spring element and the transmission element, which come to bear on each other for transmitting traction. The protrusions are at least partially flexible, so that the transmitted force is limited. This way, explosion of the balls from excessive pressure is prevented.

  • Patent number: 7224685
Abstract: An adaptive antenna signal identification process to provide increased interference rejection in a wireless data network such as a wireless Local Area Network (LAN). The adaptive antenna is located at an access point and can be steered to various angle of arrival orientations with respect to received signals. Associated radio receiving equipment utilizes two distinct signal detection modes. In a first mode, the directional antenna array is set to have an omni-directional gain pattern. In this mode, certain identification parameters of an initial portion of a received signal are detected, such as a source identifier. If the received signal has not been previously detected, then the antenna array is scanned determine a direction setting that provides a best received signal metric. Once the best directional setting for the received signal, that setting is saved for future use in receiving the same signal.
