Abstract: A signal interfacing technique for connecting signals between a signal processing device and a radio integrated circuit (IC) involving multiplexing two or more signals on a connection pin between the radio IC and a signal processing device. According to one technique, transmit and receive signals are multiplexed such that during a transmit mode a transmit signal is coupled on the connection pin from the signal processing device to the radio IC, and during a receive mode a receive signal is coupled from the radio IC on the connection pin to the signal processing device. According to another technique, in-phase (I) and quadrature (Q) signals are multiplexed on a connection pin during both transmit and receive modes.

Abstract: A display apparatus capable of illuminating a light modulation device with a light from a light emitting body to display an image on a display plane comprises a plurality of light emitting bodies (R, G, B) different from one another in emitted light color, a light receiving device configured to detect the light from the light emitting bodies and to output an amount of light received, and a color balance adjustment control section configured to adjust and control a color balance in the display plane in accordance with the amount of light received by the light receiving device. Abstract: A method and apparatus for providing fast detection of a high speed shared control channel (HS-SCCH). The HS-SCCH carries information necessary for receiving data via a high speed downlink shared channel (HS-DSCH). The apparatus receives messages transmitted via a plurality of HS-SCCHs. The apparatus measures a channel quality for the messages received via each HS-SCCH. The apparatus performs a threshold test by comparing the channel quality with a predetermined threshold. The apparatus then selects a HS-SCCH having the best channel quality among the HS-SCCHs.

Abstract: An internal combustion engine having a device for hydraulically adjusting the angle of rotation of the camshaft thereof relative to the crankshaft thereof is provided, which also includes a vacuum pump for a servo load. The device includes a drive unit that is connected in a driving manner to the crankshaft and an output unit which is connected in a torsion-proof manner to the camshaft. The lubricating oil of the internal combustion engine, which is fed from a radial bearing of the camshaft in the cylinder head, is used as a hydraulic pressurizing medium for the device. Thee vacuum pump includes a housing that has a flanged connection to the cylinder head cover, and a rotor that is disposed therein and is provided with a drive shaft via which the vacuum pump is driven and lubricated. The vacuum pump is arranged in an axial direction relative to the device, while the device is provided with additional coupling elements via which the drive shaft od the vacuum pump is connected in a driving manner to the device.
Abstract: A circuit for use in a receiver receives a plurality of code division multiple access data signals simultaneously. Each data signal experiences a similar channel response. The circuit receives a combined signal over the shared spectrum in a time slot. The combined signal comprises the plurality of data signals. The combined signal is sampled at a multiple of a chip rate of the combined signal. The similar channel response is estimated. A channel response matrix or a channel correlation matrix is constructed based in part on the estimated channel response. A spread data vector is determined based in part on a fast Fourier transform (FFT) decomposition of a circulant version of the channel response matrix or channel correlation matrix. The spread data vector is despread to recover data from the matrix.

Abstract: Disclosed is a formwork element (1) which can be assembled with other formwork elements (1) so as to form a formwork structure. Abstract: A method for combining multimedia files according to the present invention includes a step of selecting a plurality of files of the same kinds or different kinds, a step of checking the structures of the selected files, and a step of combining the selected files based on their structures. Various useful information for users can also be added to the combined files to provide the users better service. The present invention can be implemented in an on-line system as well as an off-line system.

Abstract: A modem is configured for demodulating a communication signal associated with a unique code-division multiple access (CDMA) code. The modem includes an adaptive matched filter and a vector correlator. The vector correlator generates filter coefficients for the adaptive matched filter based on signal distortion determined by the vector correlator. The vector correlator has a processing capacity of at least eleven chips whereby the vector correlator compensates for a known phase distortion and for multipath distortion ascertainable within its processing capacity. The adaptive matched filter processes communication signals with the unique CDMA code using coefficients generated by the vector correlator.

Abstract: A process for computing an eccentric amount of a disk upon rotating is provided. The process includes steps of starting a servo control system of a disk drive to rotate the disk at a specified angular velocity, measuring a track crossing speed of the servo control system at a focusing point on the disk, and computing the eccentric amount of the disk according to the specified angular velocity and the track crossing speed. A process for controlling rotation of a disk loaded in a disk drive is also provided. The process includes steps of realizing an eccentric amount of the disk, and rotating the disk at an operating speed corresponding to the eccentric amount.
Abstract: Apparatus and method for providing an automatic handoff process of a user equipment (UE) from either a wireless local area network (WLAN) to a universal mobile telecommunications system (UMTS) or from a UMTS to a WLAN. Handoffs may be initiated by the UE, based upon user preference, signal quality, comparison of location coordinates of the UE and the system to be switched to or signal quality. The available channels of one system may be broadcast to the UE by the other system or the UE may monitor channels of the system to be switched to and lock on to one. The handoff may also be initiated by the UMTS, the selection being power-based.

Abstract: A wireless communication method and system for minimizing severe interference to one or more wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRUs). A plurality of non-overlapping zones (e.g., an inner zone and an outer zone) is defined for each cell of a wireless multi-cell communication system, such as a time division duplex (TDD) system. Information regarding potential conflicts between the non-overlapping cell zones is obtained. Each potential conflict indicates that there is a high likelihood of one of the WTRUs using a specific time slot for transmitting in a zone of one cell causing severe interference to a second one of the WTRUs using the specific time slot for receiving in a zone of another (i.e., a different) cell. Time slot usage (e.g., uplink, downlink or none) is then determined on a zone-by-zone basis using the obtained information to minimize interference caused by a conflicting uplink assignment or a conflicting downlink assignment.
Abstract: A wireless communication method and apparatus for coordinating Node-Bs during handover for enhanced uplink (EU) transmission. In one embodiment, a radio network controller (RNC) initiates an inter-Node-B soft handover. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) establishes communication connections with a plurality of Node-Bs. A particular one of the Node-Bs is designated as being a primary Node-B, and each of other Node-Bs are designated as being a non-primary Node-B. The RNC informs all of the Node-Bs that the particular Node-B is a primary Node-B. The primary Node-B schedules EU transmission and performs ACK/NACK during soft handover. In another embodiment, the RNC initiates a hard handover for a WTRU connected to a source Node-B. The RNC sends an activation timer to the source Node-B to set the time for handover. As many previously negatively acknowledged (NACKed) data packets as possible are prioritized for retransmission in the source Node-B before the activation timer expires.

Abstract: A barrel adaptor for a paintball gun is provided to induce spin onto a paintball exiting the barrel of the paintball gun thereby providing selected projectile drop compensation. The adapter consists of a structure having an elongated aperture with a first end adapted to fit snugly over the barrel of the paintball gun thereby extending the barrel. An exit portion of the adapter forms an open trough-like cavity, wherein the trough-like cavity is generally mal-aligned with the paintball gun barrel such that a spin is imparted upon a paintball fired from the paintball gun barrel as it passes longitudinally through the trough-like cavity and exits therefrom.
