Abstract: A plurality of channels are received as a received signal. Each channel is associated with a code. For each of the plurality of channels, others of the plurality of channels are subtracted from the received signal and a result of that subtracting is despread as data for that channel.
Abstract: A spread-spectrum code division multiple access interference canceller for reducing interference in a direct sequence CDMA, employed at a base station receiver having N chip-code channels. The interference canceller includes a plurality of correlators or matched filters, a plurality of spread-spectrum-processing circuits, subtracting circuits, and channel correlators or channel-matched filters. Using a plurality of chip-code signals, the plurality of correlators despreads the spread-spectrum CDMA signal as a plurality of despread signals, respectively. The spread-spectrum-processing circuits use a timed version of the chip-code signals, for spread-spectrum processing the despread signals, respectively, with a chip-code-signal corresponding to a respective despread signal. For recovering a code channel using an ith chip-code-signal, the subtracting circuits subtracts from the spread-spectrum CDMA signal, the N?1 spread-spectrum-processed-despread signals generating a subtracted signal.
Abstract: A system for detecting and rewarding the return of shopping carts to collection points is provided. A signal corresponding to a dividend is generated as soon as a shopping cart is returned to a collection point. The signal is only generated when the shopping cart is returned correctly to a row of shopping carts. The correct return of the shopping carts is monitored by a digital image processing camera or with an optical signal transmitter which cooperates with evaluation units disposed on the shopping cart.
Abstract: A method for admission control of control plane signaling requests includes receiving a signaling request. Upon receipt of the signaling connection request, a first determination is performed to determine whether to provide admission to common resources. When the first determination is negative, a second determination is performed to determine whether to provide admission to dedicated resources. When the second determination is negative, the signaling request is rejected. When the second determination is positive, the request is admitted to dedicated resources. When the first determination is positive, a third determination is performed to determine whether the quality of the signaling request is high or low. If the quality of the request is high, the signaling request is admitted to common resources. When the quality is low, a fourth determination is performed to determine whether to provide admission to dedicated resources.

Abstract: A method for simultaneously receiving and processing multiple channels of data at independent rates which share a same frequency spectrum begins with receiving a multichannel data communication signal having multiple data channels at independent data rates on the same frequency spectrum. Next, selected channels of data of the received signal are separated and the data rate for each channel is identified. Then each separated channel of the received signal is decoded at an assigned data rate using a common decoding memory. Lastly, each separated channel is directed to a different decoding means and each decoding means is assigned a data rate responsive to the identification of data rates when the channels were separated.

Abstract: The invention relates to a connector fitting (3), for a high pressure hose (1), which comprises at least two components and has a connector unit (4), for connecting to a high pressure hose (2). The connector unit (4) may be connected to one of several different designs of coupling unit (5), which are destined for the connector unit (4). The connector unit (4) has a shaped nipple on the end away from the coupling unit (5), which fits in the facing open end of the high pressure tube (2). The high pressure tube (2) is thus sealed tight in a ring gap, defined by the outer surface of the nipple (7) and the inner surface of a clamping ring (9) which may be pressed onto the connector unit. According to the invention, the connector fitting (3) is characterized in that the connector unit (4) and the high pressure tube (2), sealed in the ring gap, may be rotated relative to each other.
Abstract: A user equipment has a transmitter for transmitting an access attempt signal and data packets over a random access channel. The access attempt signal requests a base station to permit the user equipment access to the random access channel. A receiver receives access control signals and access control modification signals transmitted from a base station. A controller is operatively coupled to the receiver and transmitter. The controller determines a wait period based on in part the received access control signals and access control modification signals and delays transmission of a subsequent access attempt signal for the wait period in response to an unsuccessful access attempt to the random access channel.
