Abstract: A biaxial press molding system includes a cam apparatus having cams facing each other, and a biaxial press apparatus, disposed between the cams and installed to be capable of sliding contacting the cams, for forming a biaxial pressure to a molding object by converting rotational motion of the cams to linear reciprocating motion. Thus, a repulsive force generated during pressing concentrates only on the rotation shaft, so that an optimal design of the frame and a light system are possible. The upper and lower pressure continuously applied to a pressed object can be changed and the maximum pressure can be freely maintained, increased and decreased by forming upper and lower portions at the frictional surfaces of the cams facing each other. Also, a fine control of pressure is possible, the pressure can be appropriately distributed according to part of the pressed object, and mass production of accurate molding products is possible by controlling the pressing point of time.
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a ball feed mechanism for use in a paintball loader. The ball feed mechanism includes a feeder which conveys or impels balls toward a feed neck, and a drive member which is concentric with the impeller. The feeder is coupled to the drive member through a spring. The spring is configured to store potential energy which is used to rotate the feeder and, thus, drive the balls toward the feed neck. An electric motor is used to rotate the drive member to wind the spring. The feed mechanism includes sensors which detect the motion of the feeder and the drive member. A controller determines the spring tension based on the relative motion of the feeder and drive member, and actuates a motor when necessary.

Abstract: The invention includes various approaches to assigning codes in wireless code division multiple access communication systems. The invention estimates the cross code correlation between codes to base the code assignment. One approach assigns codes having a high cross correlation to users having a low transmission power level. Another approach assigns code groups having a high cross correlation to a same coded composite transport channel. Another approach assigns codes using a cross correlation factor of each code to minimize a system noise rise. Another approach uses transmission or reception diversity to assign bad code groups to users having a different diversity relationship. Another approach uses a diversity factor and a cross code correlation factor to assign codes.
Abstract: Two related voiceband compression techniques are employed in order to enable an RF subscriber unit to accommodate data signals of high speed voiceband modems and FAX machines. A High Speed Codec enables the subscriber unit to pass voiceband modem and FAX transmissions at up to 9.6 kb/s. An Ultra-High Speed Codec supports voiceband modem and FAX transmissions up to 14.4 kb/s. The High Speed Codec operates using three 16-phase RF slots or four 8-phase RF slots, and the Ultra-High Speed Codec operates using four 16-phase RF slots. Because these codecs transmit information over several RF slots which can be contiguous, the slots within RF communication channels are dynamically allocated. The Dynamic Time slot/Bandwidth Allocation feature detects and monitors the data transmission and forms a data channel from the necessary number of slots.

Resources are assigned to the allocated timeslots according to the timeslot sequence having the lowest total interference.
Abstract: A method of using a user equipment (UE) in a wireless time division duplex communication system. Each communication burst has a unique channelization code and a midamble code which is uniquely related to the channelization code, each such midamble code being uniquely related to one or more channelization code. The UE receives communication bursts and detects each midamble code in a received communication burst. The UE determines the channelization codes related to each detected midamble based on a mapping of midamble codes to related channelization codes. The UE detects channelization codes in the received communication burst from among the determined channelization codes.

Abstract: A combined signal is received over a shared spectrum in a time slot in a time division duplex communication system using code division multiple access. Each data signal experiences a similar channel response. The similar channel response is estimated. A matrix representing a channel of the data signals based on in part the estimated channel response is constructed. A spread data vector is determined based on in part a fast fourier transform (FFT) decomposition of a circulant version of the channel matrix. The spread data vector is despread to recover data from the received combined signal.

Abstract: A method employed by a subscriber station for controlling transmission power during the establishment of a communication channel utilizes the transmission of a short code from a subscriber unit during initial power ramp-up. The short code is a sequence which has a much shorter period than a conventional access code. The ramp-up starts from a low initial power level, and the power is quickly increased while repeatedly transmitting the short code until the subscriber unit receives an indication that the short code has been detected.
