Abstract: A receiver employs iterative decoding of packet data, where the packet data represents a data frame encoded with at least two logical dimensions. A logical dimension refers to a layer, or sub-layer, of a layered network architecture. Consequently, a first logical dimension of encoding might refer to error detection in a packet frame at the data link layer, while a second logical dimension of coding might refer to error detection/correction encoding at a physical layer. For example, a data frame might be divided into several packets, each with a corresponding cyclic redundancy check (CRC) value as coding in the first logical dimension, which are then transmitted with a convolutional code as coding in the second logical dimension. The receiver performs iterative decoding in the first and second logical dimensions until either i) all errors are identified and corrected or ii) another type of stopping condition is met.
Abstract: The invention relates to a backflow preventer (1) integrateable into a gas or liquid pipeline (2). The inventive backflow preventer consists of a closing body (3) which is embodied in the form of a hollow body which is open on a drainage side thereof and defines a passage channel (5) between itself and the central counterpart (4) opposite thereto. Said closing body (3) is displaceable by a flow medium flowing through the passage channel (5) in a flow direction (Pf 1) from a sealing contact thereof with said counter part (4) of the closing body to the open position thereof against the opposing force of elasticity and o r stability thereof. Said backflow preventer (1) is easily producible even with a small number of components and is characterised by a high flow and low pressure loss.
Abstract: An image display apparatus for displaying acquired image data on a display part determines whether the acquired image data needs correcting, and when determining that some correction is necessary, causes the display part to show preset correction contents. When an operator selects one of the correction contents displayed, the image display apparatus corrects the acquired data based on the correction content selected.
Abstract: A method for managing quality of service (QoS) in a wireless local area network begins by receiving a traffic flow. The traffic flow is mapped to a traffic class (TC), based on QoS requirements of the traffic flow. A transmission budget of an access class (AC) is calculated, each AC including at least one TC. A determination is made whether the traffic flow can be admitted, by calculating whether the transmission budget can support the traffic flow. If the traffic flow is admitted, the parameters of the TC are adjusted and collisions in the TC between existing traffic flows and the newly admitted traffic flow are managed.
Abstract: A method of forming and a blank therefor, in which the blank comprises a parent body and an insert, at least one of which is made of a material which possesses superplastic properties. The insert is joined to the parent body by friction stir welding. The primary purpose of the invention is to provide a blank for a forming process during which some parts of the blank are required to deform to an extent which requires superplastic properties, whereas the remaining parts of the blank are deformed to a lesser extent.

The insulating wall has a first conductor layer formed on an entire perimeter of the upper end surface thereof and a second conductor layer formed on an entire perimeter of a lower surface thereof, an electrode formed at a peripheral portion of the lower surface of the insulating wall so as to be electrically independent from the second conductor layer, an external connection terminal brazed to the electrode, and a connection conductor formed from the first conductor layer to the electrode. The first conductive plate is attached to the insulating wall via the first conductor layer.
Abstract: A kitchen mounting-part (3) is provided which is to be mounted in a cut-out (1a) of a countertop, with the mounting-part extending with its edge region (31) beyond the cut-out in the countertop and having numerous mounting elements (8) below the edge region, which can be made to engage the countertop (1). The above-mentioned edge region (31) merges into a sloped splash wall (32). Here, it is essential that the mounting elements (8) are arranged on said splash wall (32), and the edge region (31) is formed from a single layer and extends out above the countertop (1).

Abstract: A camera is disclosed which includes: at least two image sensors, an image sensor selector, a multiplexer and an image processor. The at least two image sensors are configured to synchronously output successive pixels of image data. The image sensor selector is responsive to a pan and/or tilt signal input associated with a target view of the image data provided by the at least two image sensors, to output a select signal indicating for each synchronous output of pixels from the at least two image sensors a selected one of the at least two image sensors delivering a pixel within the target view. The multiplexer has inputs, an output, and a control input. The multiplexer inputs are each coupled to a corresponding one of the at least two image sensors to receive the successive pixels of image data there from.
Abstract: A 3D video conferencing station (200, 300, 500, 700) comprises: a camera (104) for acquiring a first (604) and second (602) image of a first user (110); and optical means for visualizing stereo images of a second user, the optical means comprising glasses for the first user (110). The station (200, 300, 500, 700) is arranged to acquire the first image (604) at a first moment at which the left eye of the first user (110) is better observable by the camera (104) than a second moment and to acquire the second image (602) at the second moment at which the right eye of the first user (110) is better observable by the camera (104) than at the first moment. The station further comprises combining means (714) for combining a first portion of the first image (604) and a second portion of the second image (602) into a third image (606) in which the left eye and the right eye of the first user (110) are relatively well visible.

Abstract: Detachable locking arrangement that includes a push-in element, a receiving member having an insertion opening structured and arranged to receive therein the push-in element and a locking device which is insertable into a clearance area of the receiving member. The clearance area is defined by a space arranged between the push-in element and an inner surface of the receiving member when the push-in element is inserted in the insertion opening. The locking device prevents removal of the push-in element from the receiving member when the push-in element is inserted within the insertion opening and when the locking device is inserted into the clearance area, thereby defining a locked position. The locking device is structured and arranged to automatically and releasably lock with the receiving member.
Abstract: A user equipment determines transport format combinations (TFCs) that are available for at a dedicated channel (DCH) based on at least a maximum transmit power for the user equipment. A TFC is selected from the available TFCs for the DCH. Based on a remaining power after the TFC selecting, enhanced uplink TFCs (E-TFCs) are selected that are available for an enhanced dedicated channel (E-DCH). An E-TFC is selected for the E-DCH from the available E-TFCs.
