  • Patent number: 7554916
Abstract: To minimize overhead in the allocation of channels, forward and reverse link time slots are automatically assigned in pairs. In particular, rather than requiring a separate process for allocating reverse link channels for the sending of acknowledgment messages in response to receipt of a forward link packet, a different scenario takes place. At the receiving end, such as for valid reception of data on a forward link channel at a central base station site, a reverse link time slot is automatically allocated in a time slot which depends upon the time slot allocation on the forward link. This assists with the rapid return of acknowledgment messages in a reverse link direction which is the predominant direction for such messages in a wireless system wherein most data traffic is Web page oriented.

Abstract: A correction data acquisition method for an image display device, which is used to display a predetermined image using a plurality of primary colors. An offset image at a black level is displayed at an image display section of the image display device. A multiband offset captured data is acquired by capturing the offset image through filters corresponding to primary colors. Primary color images at predetermined signal levels of the corresponding primary colors are displayed sequentially. A multiband primary color captured data is acquired by capturing the primary color images through the filters for the corresponding primary colors. Primary color scale images are displayed by varying input signal levels of the corresponding primary colors sequentially. • Patent number: 7555040
Abstract: A method and apparatus generating an error signal and an update vector signal used to generate filter tap coefficients for an equalizer filter residing in an equalizer. The equalizer filter outputs an equalized signal in response to receiving a sample data stream. The error signal is generated by down-sampling the equalized signal, subtracting the equalized signal from a reference signal, and filtering and down-sampling the resulting signal. Simultaneously, the update vector signal is generated by converting scalar samples of the sample data stream to a data vector signal and descrambling, filtering, and down-sampling the data vector signal. A tap coefficients generator is used to generate the filter tap coefficients for updating the equalizer filter based on the error signal and the update vector signal.

  • Patent number: 7555307
Abstract: A method system and components for outer loop power control particularly useful for non-real time/real time data services uses data transmitted in many bursts of short duration, called Temp-DCH allocations. A target metric, preferably, target SIR, is adjusted with differing step up and step down levels to converge on a relatively low steady state level of step up and step down target metric adjustments. The initial target SIR and the transient step size for target SIR adjustment is determined in a dynamic way in the outer loop power control for each Temp-DCH allocation of non-real time data.

  • Patent number: 7554964
Abstract: A cellular system utilizes transmission diversity by transmitting a plurality time slotted signals for communicating data. A transmitting station including a transmitter configured to transmit a plurality of data signals corresponding to the data in different time slots. The time slot occurring at different times so that transmitted data signals are not simultaneously transmitted. A receiving station includes a receiver for sequentially receiving the data signals and a combiner for reconstructing the data from the received data signals. Preferably, the transmitting station has a plurality of spaced apart antennas from which the respective data signals are transmitted. Preferably, the system is a CDMA system where the data signals are transmitted from the transmitting station as a plurality of PN spread spectrum signals which are formed by spreading and modulating the data with different PN codes. The receiving station then reconstructs the data by first despreading and demodulating the received data signals.

  • Patent number: 7549324
Abstract: The present invention is a consistency transmitter for the measurement of consistency, viscosity, and other properties of matter. The transmitter consists of a measuring element, attached to a bearing-mounted shaft and rotated in the matter to be measured by a direct drive motor that is positioned coaxially with the measuring element and its shaft. The stator of the direct drive motor is integrated into the consistency transmitter body, its rotor into the shaft. The stator is coaxially attached to a first flange that transmits the torsional force of the motor with flexible elements to a second flange positioned on the shaft. The first and second flanges are attached to differential elements with which the phase angle between the flanges is measured using measuring elements located near the flanges. The shaft of the measuring element is bearing-mounted inside a tubular torsion shaft.

  • Patent number: 7551680
Abstract: A wireless communication method of exploiting the radio frequency (RF) physical environment to establish a sufficient number of usable multiple paths of RF propagation for facilitating communications. The method is implemented in a wireless communication system including at least one transmitter and at least one receiver. The receiver's antenna is directed towards one of a plurality of reception paths and receives a data stream from the transmitter via the reception path that the receiver antenna is directed towards. The receiver decodes the data stream, reconstructs a modulation pattern of the decoded data stream, and subtracts the reconstructed data stream from a sum of all of the signals received by the receiver via the reception paths. The receiver provides received signal direction information associated with reception paths to the transmitter. The transmitter adjusts and/or eliminates one or more of the reception paths that are unusable based on the signal direction information.
