  • Patent number: 5177733
Abstract: A casing of a sound record playing apparatus includes an upper body (1B) and a lower body (1A), and a vibration plate (16) is formed by reducing a thickness of a part of the upper body. An inner surface of the vibration plate is in abutment with a pickup (13) to amplify the vibrations of the pickup. Thus, a conical speaker which has been used conventionary can be eliminated, and the thickness of the recording disk reproducing apparatus is reduced.

  • Patent number: 5164927
Abstract: A disk record sound reproducing apparatus includes a turntable having a cylindrical rib formed on the lower surface thereof and protruding downwardly therefrom. A plurality of selection levers, equal in number to a number of modulated grooves of a disk record, are pivotably disposed below the turntable, the levers being arranged radially with respect to the center of the turntable. Each selection lever has a drawn-down arm and a holding arm which are respectively engageable with a part of the turntable and the lower edge of the rib. When one of the selection levers is turned, the turntable is lowered by the draw-down arm which presses down the part of the turntable, and at the same time, the holding arm rides over the lower edge of the rib and enters the inside of the rib. Thus, the turntable together with the record disk is maintained at its lowered position, and the application of stylus force to the disk record is released.

  • Patent number: 5161791
Abstract: An apparatus for feeding sheets such as labels or covers includes a holder having a groove-shaped cross section opening upwardly. The holder is formed with a take-out port at one end, and holds the covers stacked horizontally with their surfaces facing horizontally. A pressing body connected to a rodless cylinder presses the stacked covers with a constant force towards the take-out port. A suction machine having a sucking disk at one end confronting a cover exposed from the take-out port attracts the exposed cover one-by-one. A stepping motor coupled to the suction machine turns the suction machine downwardly to 90.degree. so that the cover attracted to the sucking disk abuts against a top aperture of a container which is carried on a conveyor. When the suction machine releases the attraction of the cover, the cover is left on the top aperture of the container to cover the top aperture.

  • Patent number: 5156037
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a clamping apparatus for securing to and pulling upon an enlarged end of a longitudinal member of an automobile or vehicle chassis. The clamping apparatus has a pair of facing jaw members each having a bearing portion, a pulling portion, and an intermediate portion therebetween. The bearing portions each have a groove that cooperate to substantially surround the periphery of the longitudinal member perpendicular to its longitudinal axis such that the clamping apparatus may not slide off the longitudinal member, while the hearing portions bear upon the enlarged end as an axial pulling force is transferred from the clamping apparatus to the automobile chassis.

  • Patent number: 5149085
Abstract: An athletic training device is provided for determining the forward rotation of the hand in relation to the wrist of an athlete. The device comprises a pair of bands, a first band disposed about the wrist and a second band disposed about the knuckles of a hand of an athlete. A strap is connected between the two bands. The length of the strap is greater than the distance between the two bands when the hand is not rotated forwardly. When the wrist is rotated forwardly, the strap is placed under tension and pulled toward the hand of the athlete. This movement of the strap triggers a sensing mechanism, which in turn closes a circuit and triggers a signalling mechanism. Thus, an athlete can determine when complete forward rotation of his or her wrist has occurred. In a preferred embodiment, the signalling mechanism includes an audible sound generating device.

  • Patent number: 5144123
Abstract: An image dissecting intensifier tube for use in an x-ray examination system is taught. X-ray photons pass through a subject are received by the image dissecting intensifier tube, which converts the photons to electrons. By use of electrostatic plates, the electrons are accelerated, deflected horizontally and vertically, and focused as they pass through the tube. The electrons emit from the tube by feeding the electron image line-by-line through a small aperture formed in the anode of the tube. The video signal that pass through the aperture are received by a multiplier tube built onto the image dissecting intensifier tube which amplifies the signal. The signal passes to a video control unit, which takes the amplified signal and mixes the signal with horizontal and vertical sweep signals, producing a composite video signal. The composite video signal is then displayed on a monitor for viewing. The image obtained is brighter and clearer than that achieved by traditional x-ray systems.

  • Patent number: 5138602
Abstract: A turn table having a sound recording disk or record mounted thereon is normally urged upwardly by a spring disposed between a lower surface of the turn table and a chassis of a casing to apply a stylus force to a pickup. A weight member is rotatably and eccentrically supported on an inside mounting plate, and an operating claw having a slant surface formed on a lower surface is fixed to the weight member. When a shock is applied to the weight member externally, the weight member rotates by an inertia force in a plane perpendicular to a rotary shaft of the turn table. As a result, the operating claw on the weight member moves toward an upper end of the rotary shaft. The slant surface of the operating claw rides over the upper end of the rotary shaft to downwardly press the rotary shaft together with the turn table. Thus, the stylus force of the pickup is released.

  • Patent number: 5135172
Abstract: A paint spray gun including a housing, an assembly and an air cap for controlling paint fanning. An air restrictor limits the total air cap pressure, such that it may emit a high volume of spray at a low air cap pressure. The restriction of pressure is achieved by restricting air flow within the housing by an enlarged section of a central rod which cooperates with a bore forward in the bolt, which connects the housing to the assembly. Movement of the rod controls both the valve movement and the pressure.

  • Patent number: 5129822
Abstract: This dental casting apparatus includes a track, and a tray. The track has an inner and an outer track wall and a first and a second end portion which combine to define a chamber. A hardenable wet stone material is positionable within the chamber of the track. After the stone is allowed to harden within the track, a sharp knife cuts through the stone and the track to form a plurality of dies. The tray has an inner tray wall and outer tray wall which combine to define a recessed portion. The individual dies are positionable within the tray recessed portion, and are readily engageable and disengageable therefrom. The dental casting apparatus also includes a mechanism for securely retaining the dies to the tray in such a manner that each die can be individually removed from the tray without disengaging adjacent dies.
