Abstract: A vitamin E dry powder, which contains a protein colloid and a disaccharide as carriers, is prepared by dispersing a vitamin E ester in a residual liquor, low in alkaline earth metal ions and rich in lactose, from the production of lactose, in the presence of from 2 to 30% by weight, based on the solids content of the residual liquor, of a caseinate, and spray-drying the dispersion. The vitamin E dry powder thus prepared is stable, easy to dose and physiologically safe, so that it can be used for any desired purpose.

Abstract: Polyoxyalkylene polyamines are prepared by first reacting a polyoxyalkylene polyol or a polyoxyalkylene glycol monoether with a halogen-containing compound. The resulting halogenated ether is then aminated by the reaction therewith of a mono- or polyamine. The resulting products are substantially monoamine or polyamine derivatives depending upon the amine reactants. The resulting amines hereof are useful as intermediates for preparing cationic surfactants, cationic polymers and as fuel detergent additives.

Abstract: A process for the preparation of butenediol diacetate by reacting butadiene with oxygen and acetic acid or with a compound which liberates acetic acid under the reaction conditions, over a solid catalyst which contains a platinum metal and one or more elements of main group 5 or 6, in the presence of butanediol diacetate, butanediol monoacetate, butanediol or a mixture of these, and the use of the butenediol diacetate, thus obtained, to prepare butane-1,4-diol by hydrogenating and then hydrolyzing the diacetate.
Abstract: Surface-coating binders based on a reaction product of Mannich bases, obtained from polyhydric phenols, secondary amines and formaldehyde, with epoxy resins. The Mannich bases and/or the epoxy resins carry hydroxyl groups, bonded to aliphatic structures, which have been converted to urethane groups by reaction with partially blocked polyisocyanates. When protonized and diluted with water, the surface-coating binders may be used as cationic electrocoatings.

Abstract: A process for the continuous production of an ethylene copolymer by compressing a mixture of ethylene and comonomer in a pre-compressor and a post-compressor, copolymerizing the mixture in a polymerization zone at a high temperature and high pressure, transferring the reaction mixture into a high pressure product isolation zone, from there into a low pressure product isolation zone and thereafter into a discharge extruder, and recycling the greater part of the unconverted monomer into the polymerization process and passing a small part of the unconverted gas into a low temperature isolation zone, in which process a small part of the gas recycled from the high pressure product isolation zone is passed into the low temperature isolation zone, which is preferably under a pressure of from 10 to 30 bar and at from -10.degree. to -50.degree. C., and all the gas taken off the low pressure product isolation zone is fed to the pre-compressor.
