Abstract: A self-erecting end-loading top-dispensing container which is convertible from a substantially flattened configuration for shipping the empty container into an erected box-like configuration for loading product into the container and for shipping loaded containers. By removing a tear-away portion of the top panel, the container is convertible into a tray having an open top for dispensing product. Connecting webs join the end closures of the container to the front and rear side walls, preserving the structural integrity of the container when the removable top is torn away.

Abstract: Medical grade pressure sensitive adhesive compositions comprising a homogeneous mixture of one or more polyisobutylenes or blends of one or more polyisobutylenes and butyl rubber, one or more styrene radial or block type copolymers, mineral oil, one or more water soluble hydrocolloid gums, and a tackifier. One or more water swellable cohesive strengthening agents, an antioxidant, and various other optional ingredients may be included within the adhesive composition.
Abstract: A low temperature and pressure process for preparing rimantadine in high yields from 1-adamantyl methyl ketoxime is provided. The process comprises contacting a solution of the ketoxime with hydrogen in the presence of a platinum on carbon catalyst at a low temperature and pressure, e.g., room temperature and a pressure of about 25-115 psia (170-790 KPa) are preferred.
Abstract: A fluid levitated generally convex support member particularly useful in supporting a pallet, plate or belt such that the pallet, plate or belt load may be moved in an air powered track system, the system including at least one concave track with means for supporting and guiding the convex member and the pallet, plate or belt thereabove on a thin film of pressurized air jetting from nozzles in the track. The support member includes a generally tubular, flexible and partly deformable outer member and means for internally stressing the outer member so that under load there will be controlled deformation thereof. The deformed member will be closely complementary to the track surface to maximize load carrying capacity while minimizing fluid support power requirements and the detrimental effect of track deformities.
Abstract: An improved process for preparing an optically anisotropic pitch which comprises heating a pitch feed material at a temperature within the range of about 350.degree. C. to 450.degree. C. while passing an inert gas therethrough at a rate of at least 2.5 SCFH/lb of pitch feed material and agitating said pitch feed material at a stirrer rate of from about 500 to 600 rpm to obtain an essentially 100% mesophase pitch product suitable for carbon production.

Abstract: This track, particularly for use with electrically self-propelled vehicles, has various elements for interfering with vehicle passage. Different effects are obtained--amusing, fascinating, or enhanced competitive play with two or more vehicles. Most of the interfering elements are detachable, and usable in different combinations and arbitrarily selectable positions. Three element types are (1) bumps that redirect the vehicles, tending to make them go around curves in the track without moving to the sides; (2) small flooring sections operated (by levers) vertically through holes in the track floor, to variably influence the vehicles' passage along the track; and (3) a gate, with a releasable catch, for starting cars along the track simultaneously in a race.
Abstract: A polyester composition in organic solvents with about 40% polyester, 26% melamine crosslinker and 16% cellulose acetate butyrate provides a coating composition with 18% binder solids.
Abstract: Photosensitive coating composition consisting essentially of an ethylenic unsaturated compound, a photoinitiator or photoinitiator system, an organic polymeric binder, discrete, substantially nonswellable, nonagglomerating, crosslinked beads, 0.1 to 4.0 .mu.m in average diameter size, at least 90% of the beads by population below 6.0 .mu.m, as defined and a solvent for the binder. The crosslinked beads can be present in positive-working systems. Preferred beads are trimethylolpropane triacrylate. The coating composition can be dried quickly into the form of a film which is useful as a dry film photoresist.
Abstract: A heterogeneous immunoassay for digoxin. An excess of labeled anti-digoxin antibody is added to a test sample and the resulting reaction mixture is contacted with a solid phase having ouabain immobilized thereon. All the free, labeled antibody binds to the oubain. The eluted digoxin anti-digoxin antibody complex is measured for label activity. A competitive mode is also disclosed.
Abstract: A process for the synthesis of the photosensitive polyamic acid derivatives which are polyimide precursors, comprising the sequential steps:(1) Partially derivatizing an aromatic dianhydride with a reactive monomer containing a photosensitive moiety;(2) Condensation polymerizing the partially derivatized aromatic dianhydride with aromatic diamine to form polyamic acid;(3) Isoimidization of the polyamic acid;(4) Condensation of the polyisoimide to polyamic acid derivative by reaction with additional reactive monomer; and(5) Separation of the polyamic acid derivative.
Abstract: 2- and 3-Nitroterephthalamic acids are prepared by ammonolysis of dialkyl nitroterephthalates. The terephthalamic acids are useful as intermediates in the preparation of difunctional compounds useful in the preparation of aromatic polyamides and polybenzimidazoles.
Abstract: Antibacterial activity is exhibited by (3-acylamino)-2-azetidinones having in the 1-position a group of the formula ##STR1## or a salt or ester thereof wherein R.sub.5 and R.sub.6 are the same or different and each is hydrogen or alkyl.
Abstract: A compact and portable drain having particular application to recreational vehicles such that sewage contained within a holding tank thereof can be relatively easily and efficiently emptied and disposed of at a sewage dump. The drain is connected between a drain hose and a receptacle at the exterior of the recreational vehicle. The flow of sewage through the drain is controlled by a manually operated, reciprocating valve plate which is positioned to either block or open a flow path through the drain. Thus, the valve plate can be opened so that sewage may be drained from the holding tank to a sewage dump by way of the drain and drain hose. A water inlet is also connected to the drain, so as to permit the holding tank to be flushed and cleaned via the drain once the sewage is removed from the holding tank and the valve plate is closed.

The quantity of said substance is sufficient, even in the presence of a nucleating agent, to depress the freezing point of the reaction product obtained by combining said first-mentioned titanate with 2,4-pentanedione. Also methods of preparing the reaction product are disclosed.
