Abstract: A circuit arrangement for producing a composite waveform comprises a multiplexer controlled by a logic network for successively energizing a load with an aperiodic voltage from a switching circuit and one or more sine waves or other periodic voltages continuously produced by respective oscillation generators. The logic network includes a cycle counter stepped by a selected oscillation generator for terminating the transmission of its output voltage ater a preset number of cycles. An analog comparator, continuously receiving a d-c potential from a manually settable voltage source and a sawtooth voltage from each oscillation generator, emits an enabling pulse to the logic network upon detecting a coincidence between the sawtooth voltage of a selected generator and either the manually selected d-c potential or the sawtooth voltage from another selected oscillation generator.

Abstract: Surfaces of articles made of polyethylene, polypropylene, crystalline dipolymers of ethylene with propylene, blends of two or more of the above, and blends of any of the above with elastomeric ethylene/propylene copolymers or with EPDM copolymers are prepared for painting by priming with a chlorinated polymeric material selected from a chlorinated polypropylene and chlorinated polypropylene containing carboxylic anhydride groups, and exposing to ultraviolet radiation. This treatment improves both dry and wet adhesion of paint to surfaces of articles made of single polyolefins as well as of their blends with elastomeric copolymers in which the latter constitute at most 50% of the total polymer.

Abstract: Fluorinated allylisocyanurates are extremely efficient gelling agents for fluoroelastomers. Blends of fluorinated allylisocyanurate gelled fluoroelastomers with non-gelled fluoroelastomers have improved processability as compared with non-gelled fluoroelastomers and blends of other gelled fluoroelastomers with non-gelled fluoroelastomers.

These compounds are useful as hypotensive agents.
Abstract: Preparation of an electrically conductive pattern by adhering a prolonged tack toner which is activated by heating to the toner-receptive image areas of an inert substrate, the temperature is reduced and to the activated toner is applied a prolonged tack toner having conductive metal particles and glass frit as components; optionally the steps of heating, temperature reduction and toner application are repeated at least one time, and then the toned image is burned and fired. An electrically conductive pattern is obtained which is useful, for example, as an electric circuit. The process is also useful in the application of resistor and dielectric materials.

Abstract: The angular relation of a Sach foot to a shin may be adjusted during assembly to provide a desired heel height so that one type of Sach foot may be stocked for each shoe size and adapted for different heights of heel. The connecting bolt passes through a rotatable trunnion transverse to the length of the foot and is pivotable between fore and aft limits, and material is removed from the confronting surfaces of the foot and shin during fitting or packing material is inserted between them to effect such angular displacement.
Abstract: Process comprising contacting and reacting a diarylmethanol having 13 to 25 carbon atoms and of the formula RCHOHR' wherein each of R and R' is aryl, the same or different, in the liquid state, at a temperature of about 130.degree.-260.degree. C., with gaseous oxygen to produce hydrogen peroxide and diaryl ketone of the formula RCOR' wherein R and R' are the same as above.
Abstract: A discharge gate clamping device for clamping a lower plate of a discharge gate. A pair of torsion bars are mounted on the side of the lower plate each having a respective first end connected to a crank arm, and each torsion bar has a second end carrying a cam. When the crank arm is rotated the torsion bars rotate for rotating the cams which press against a surface for lifting the lower plate upward. Because each cam is mounted on an independent torsion bar, a uniform pressure is applied to the lower plate of the discharge gate.

Abstract: Tobacco plants are harvested by having an operator ride a harvesting vehicle along a plant row so that as plants are successively cut from the ground by a cutter on the vehicle, the operator may grasp the severed plant and impale the same onto an upright stake likewise carried by the vehicle. As the stake becomes loaded with plants, the operator may remove the loaded stake from its holding socket on the vehicle and lay the same on a rearwardly disposed deck. He then replaces the loaded stake with an empty stake obtained from a supply thereof carried by the vehicle, and repeats the cutting, impaling and replacement steps until a sufficiently large accumulation of loaded stakes has been obtained on the deck. Thereupon, the deck is tilted to an inclined position so as to dump the plant-loaded stakes onto the ground in a pile, whereupon the cycle is repeated.
Abstract: In a process for the solution mining of a uranium ore formation using an aqueous alkaline carbonate leaching solution containing hydrogen peroxide as oxidant, the solution is passed through the ore formation in the presence of an alkylidene-1,1-diphosphonic acid. Such an acid has been found to be unique in its capability for stabilizing the peroxide against decomposition in the presence of the uranium ore.
Abstract: Water-borne reaction products of (a) carboxylfunctional polymers; (b) modified polyepoxides; and (c) tertiary amines are useful as film-forming components of coating compositions which can be spray-, flow-, dip-, roller-, or electro-coated.
