  • Patent number: 4233382
Abstract: A process for reproducing graphic information wherein a magnetic image is formed in a premagnetized layer of acicular chromium dioxide by heating the chromium dioxide selectively to above its Curie point. Uncharged ferromagnetic toner particles are then applied uniformly to the chromium dioxide layer, but adhere only in the magnetized areas. The toner particles are then transferred electrostatically to a substrate.

  • Patent number: 4232556
Abstract: In an ultrasonic transducer probe having multiple rotating transducer elements the transducer outputs are switched in response to sine and cosine signals from a resolver. The same signals are used to switch and time the display scan. If the transducers are misaligned a multiple blurred image may result. It is proposed to modify the resolver signals changing the phase of the signals for at least one transducer to bring the display signals into registration. In one example it is achieved by, for at least one transducer element output, mixing a proportion of at least one of the sine and cosine signals with the other.

  • Patent number: 4231666
Abstract: A mixing device of the type having a housing of generally cylindrical construction, having an end wall with concentric arrays of axially extending mixing elements thereon, a rotor being rotatable within the housing and having on the face thereof further axially extending mixing elements in a plurality of annular concentric arrays, the mixing elements of the rotor and housing interfitting with one another. The mixing elements themselves are each defined by inner and outer part-cylindrical surfaces and by further straight surfaces forming the sides of grooves, the axes of the grooves being disposed along different tangents to an inner pitch circle which is concentric with the part-cylindrical surfaces. This provides a much better mixing effect and produces a certain reverse pumping within the mixer. These features enable the mixing elements to be made shorter with the possibility of the rotors and end walls of the housing being formed by moulding.

  • Patent number: 4232059
Abstract: A process is disclosed for delineating a patterned electroconductive coating on a substantially nonconductive substrate. The process can be used on substrates having a thickness in excess of 50 microinches. The process involves forming a substantially continuous electroconductive film on a substrate. An air abrasive resistant continuous mask film of metallic material is applied to the electroconductive film and etched to form masked and unmasked portions of the electroconductive film corresponding to the desired patterned coating. The unmasked portions of the electroconductive film are removed to leave the masked portions of the electroconductive film remaining on the substrate. The mask film can then be removed from the electroconductive film resulting in the desired pattern delineated in the electroconductive film on the substrate or the mask can remain in place and be used to form an integral part of the device formed with the substrate.

  • Patent number: 4231212
Abstract: To place the bags on a filling spout, the bags are hurled one at a time w the valve flange through a shaping tube, which is distanced from the spout as to allow the filled bag to be removed from the spout without displacing the tube. The bag is hurled at high speed by at least one continuously moving belt engaging the bag body along the entire length of the tube, as to be placed on the spout substantially when the valve flange leaves the tube. This latter is formed of two symmetric parts, the distance between which is adjustable by means of double screws having two ends threaded in opposite directions and engaging corresponding holes of the two parts of the tube.
