Abstract: High density polyethylene made using a cobalt or iron complex of a selected tridentate ligand as a polymerization catalyst may be made into packaging which has advantageous properties, especially lower permeation to ambient materials such as oxygen and/or water. The packaging, such as bottles, bags and rigid storage tanks, may be formed by conventional methods.
Abstract: This invention is directed to a process for electrocoating bulk articles to provide a corrosion protective coating and comprises the following steps:
(1) the bulk articles to be coated are placed in an electrically conductive receiving container and the container and bulk articles are electrocoated with an aqueous electrocoating composition containing a film forming binder and electrically conductive components;
(2) baking the coated bulk articles and the receiving container to form an electrically conductive coating on the bulk articles and the container and removing the coated bulk articles from the container; and
(3) repeating steps (1) and (2) at least once without any intermediate cleaning of the receiving container having an electrically conductive coating.
The advantage of the novel process of this invention is that the receiving container can be used at least twice and up to six times without any intermediate cleaning or removal of the applied electrocoating layer.

Abstract: The invention describes a cutting knife for a cutting tool for cutting through adhesive beads on glass panes of vehicles, having a cross section that is bent into a U-shape and comprises a first limb, configured as the attachment part, with a receiving opening for attachment to an oscillating drive, and a second limb that is configured as the cutting part and is joined via an intermediate part to the attachment part of the cutting knife, the intermediate part and the cutting part being shaped such that a distance exists in the radial direction between the center point of the receiving opening and at least one cutting edge. The cutting part has, in a middle region between its outer free end and its angled transition to the intermediate part, a lesser width than at the transition and at the outer end. This results in a reduced susceptibility to breakage.

Abstract: An automated, computer-controlled landfill condensate injection system includes a pump that pumps condensate into a flare chamber at a pressure that is sufficiently high and through a nozzle that is configured to vaporize the condensate without requiring the use of high pressure air injected with the condensate. Secondary injection lines can also be provided that terminate in nozzles which are vertically staggered from each other along the chamber, to inject additional condensate into the flare and thus dispose of it at a higher rate depending on vaporization conditions. Computer-controlled valves can be provided in the lines for selectively opening and closing the lines.
