  • Patent number: 7530362
Abstract: Low profile wash pads, usable alone or with other like pads in a module array, are disclosed whereby one or more motor driven or motorless vehicles may be wheeled onto or across (or other object placed upon) a full drainage impervious washing platform such that substantially all spent wash liquid and removed debris are caused to flow off from the washing platform to an edge collector or gutter. Debris accumulation at the washing platform is avoided and processing of gutter-contained spent wash liquid and removed debris can occur in offset relation to and without interfering with ongoing washing on the washing platform. Several modes for processing the drainage comprising spent wash liquid and removed debris contained in the gutter are disclosed, one mode comprising automated processing using a screw conveyor.

  • Patent number: 7530432
Abstract: An air bladder actuated railroad car retarder is designed to simplify installation, operate in a manner imposing minimal stress on the bladder, improve preventive maintenance, and simplify access to the main fulcrum bearings. The air bladder actuator is made with lightweight aluminum end plates and utilizes a unique stud assembly for attaching the actuator to the retarder pivot arms. Rigid mounting of the air bladder with a unique pivot geometry exposes the bladder to minimal lateral deflection which is balanced in both directions. A simple stroke limiter assembly, external to the air bladder, is also used to measure and monitor wear of the main fulcrum bearings. The stroke limiter assembly is easily demountable and removable to enhance access to the main fulcrum pivot for replacement of the fulcrum bearings.

  • Patent number: 7532152
Abstract: An automotive radar system having a high frequency radio transmitter which generates a radar signal in a known direction. A high frequency radio receiver receives echoes from the radar signal in which each echo represents a reflection of the radar signal from an object. A processor then identifies animate objects, if any, from the received echoes within a range of interest and generates an alert signal for each such identified animate object.

  • Publication number: 20090115564
Abstract: A transformer to isolate a primary winding from a signal winding include a primary substrate (which may comprise a printed circuit board (PCB)) and a secondary substrate. The primary and secondary substrates may each have three openings to allow first and second E-E core halves to be joined therebetween. A first insulator may be disposed between the primary and secondary substrates to isolate the primary substrate from the secondary substrate. A second insulator may secure the primary and secondary substrates in place and insulate the secondary substrate from the core. The primary and secondary substrates may each include a Faraday shield its outer layers. A shield slit to prevent shorting between the legs of the E-E core may be formed by cutting a channel in the shield between the opening of the primary and secondary substrates. A retaining clip may be used to clamp together the primary substrate, first and second core E-E core halves, secondary substrate and second insulator.

  • Publication number: 20090113798
Abstract: A security window for shielding a secured space against forceful attacks generally includes a lateral profile, a pane having outer and inner surfaces, a clamping assembly adapted to hold the pane, a column protruding from the lateral profile, and a first seal disposed longitudinally along the column. The clamping assembly is rotatably coupled to the lateral profile. In operation, the pane moves between closed and open positions upon rotation of the clamping assembly. The column spans longitudinally along the pane and the clamping assembly. The first seal is adapted to hinder fluid from passing through the pane and the clamping assembly and abuts the outer surface of the pane when the pane is located in the closed position.

  • Publication number: 20090114788
Abstract: A motor vehicle transmission includes a housing, a parking gear and a retainer. The housing has a support wall. The parking gear is pivotally coupled to the support wall of the housing by a pivot pin. The pivot pin has an end that protrudes outwardly from the support wall. The retainer has a proximal end fixedly secured to the support wall and a distal end contacting the end of the pivot pin to retain the pivot pin in the support wall. The retainer is elastically deformed upon securing the proximal end to the support wall and continuously axially biasing the pivot pin toward the housing. Additionally, the distal end is shaped to retain the end of the pivot pin, thereby axially constraining the pivot pin relative to the housing and, at the same time, preventing rotation of the retainer about the fastener.

  • Publication number: 20090115215
Abstract: A center console assembly for a motor vehicle includes a pair of side walls generally parallel and spaced apart from each other; a storage compartment extending between the side walls; and a tray supported on the side walls. A tab extends outwardly from at least one of the side walls and extends into a recess formed in the tray to retain the tray in a retained position to prevent the tray from sliding along the side walls. The tab has a ramped leading surface that facilitates insertion of the tab into the recess as the tray is moved along the side walls toward the retained position.

  • Publication number: 20090115509
Abstract: An accurate linear equivalent of an analog signal may be produced across an isolation barrier by driving a primary transformer winding with a drive amplifier and compensation amplifier, where the compensation operational amplifier amplifies a difference between a signal produced on a sense winding of the transformer and a combination of the input analog signal and output of the drive amplifier. The system may be stabilized by a lead-lag network between the sense winding, input signal, and operational amplifier. The transformer may comprise an isolation barrier to isolate the input analog signal from a signal winding. The primary winding of the transformer, driven by the operational amplifier and driver amplifier circuit, may produce a linear equivalent of the input analog signal across the isolation barrier on a signal winding of the transformer.
