Abstract: Disclosed is a decoding method which uses an intra-screen prediction. A decoding method which uses an intra prediction performed in a decoding apparatus comprises the steps of: receiving a bit stream; obtaining decoding information from the received bit stream; generating a prediction block for a current block to be decoded using the obtained decoding information; and restoring the current block by adding a residual block obtained from the bit stream and the prediction block. Accordingly, a compression ratio of an image can be improved.

Abstract: Various methods and devices for spatial molecular analysis from tissue is provided. For example, a method of spatially mapping a tissue sample is provided with a microarray having a plurality of wells, wherein adjacent wells are separated by a shearing surface; overlaying said microarray with a tissue sample; applying a deformable substrate to an upper surface of said tissue sample; applying a force to the deformable substrate, thereby forcing underlying tissue sample into the plurality of wells; shearing the tissue sample along the shearing surface into a plurality of tissue sample islands, with each unique tissue sample island positioned in a unique well; and imaging or quantifying said plurality of tissue sample islands, thereby generating a spatial map of said tissue sample. The imaging and/or quantifying may use a nucleic acid amplification technique.

Abstract: A cutting tool adapter for creating an underpinning structure and method of creating the underpinning structure are provided. In some examples, the cutting tool adapter may connect a cutting tool to a working machine arm to enable the cutting tool to cut and dislodge soil below an existing foundation or structure. As the soil is cut and dislodged, it is mechanical mixed with an additive, such as a cementitious material, via the cutting tool. The mixed soil and additive may then harden in the area below the existing structure or foundation to create an underpinning structure to provide additional support for the existing structure or foundation.

Abstract: Various methods and systems are related to pulse-based automatic gain control. In one example, pulse-based automatic gain control (AGC) includes a variable gain amplifier (VGA) configured to amplify an analog input signal to generate an analog output signal based upon an amplification control signal; an integrate-and-fire (IF) sampler configured to generate a pulse train corresponding to the analog output signal; and a gain adjustment configured to generate the amplification control signal based upon a comparison of time between pulses of the pulse train to a reference time. Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for determining spatial distribution of an absolute phase of RF transmit field B1+ and/or RF receive field B1? in an MRI system are described herein. An example method can include selecting a transmit coil for which to measure the absolute phase of the RF transmit field B1+, exciting nuclear spins in MR nuclei using at least two transmit configurations of the transmit coil, and detecting first and MR signals arising from exciting nuclear spins in MR nuclei using first and second transmit configurations, respectively. The method can also include acquiring first and second sets of complex k-space data from the first and second MR signals, respectively, and estimating an absolute phase B1+ map of the transmit coil using the first set of complex k-space data and the second set of complex k-space data.
Abstract: A camera system is provided to increase a baseline. The camera system includes a single lens, and an image sensor includes at least one pixel array, each of the at least one pixel array including a plurality of pixels in a two-dimensional arrangement and a single microlens disposed on the plurality of pixels to be shared. Light shielding layers formed with Offset Pixel Apertures (OPAs) are disposed on at least two pixels of the plurality of pixels, and the OPAs are formed on the light shielding layers to maximize a spaced distance between the OPAs.
