Abstract: The present invention generally relates to a method for creating a chemically structured surface with structural elements as small as 1 nm, on a material that does not itself display a high degree of ordering, using thin molecular layers that minimize the material added through the coating. Abstract: Herein provided is a new soybean variety designated ‘G13LL-44’ as well as the seeds, plants and derivatives of the new soybean variety ‘G13LL-44’. Also provided are tissue cultures of the new soybean variety ‘G13LL-44’ and the plants regenerated therefrom. Methods for producing soybean plants by crossing the new soybean variety ‘G13LL-44’ with itself or another soybean variety and plants produced by such methods are also provided. ‘G13LL-44’ is a MG VII line with glufosinate tolerance technology, and with resistance to race 3 of the soybean cyst nematode and frogeye leaf spot, and moderate resistance to southern root-knot nematode. ‘G13LL-44’ yielded 1.4 bu/ac (2.3%) greater than its recurrent parent ‘G00-3213’, across 11 environments and 0.5 bu/ac more than the high-yielding check cultivar ‘AG738 RR’. ‘G13LL-44’ provides a high yielding glufosinate tolerant soybean cultivar with superior nematode resistance.

Abstract: A method for imaging an object by ultrasound elastography through continuous vibration of the ultrasound transducer is taught. An actuator directly in contact with the ultrasound transducer continuously vibrates the transducer in an axial direction, inducing shear waves in the tissue and allowing for real-time shear wave imaging. Axial motion of the transducer contaminates the shear wave images of the tissue, and must be suppressed. Therefore, several methods for correcting for shear wave artifact caused by the motion of the transducer are additionally taught.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides an improved method for photobleaching an eye of a subject. The disclosed method may be used in a number of psychophysical test methods, including, but not limited to, measurement of dark adaptation. The improved method for photobleaching involves at least one of the following improvements: (i) the use of a bleaching light emitting a particular wavelength of light or a tailored spectrum of wavelengths; (ii) restricting or otherwise spatially tailoring the region of the retina that is subject to photobleaching; and (iii) utilizing a bleaching light having an intensity that is at or below the intensity of ambient daylight. The present disclosure additionally provides a combination of a photobleaching light and an apparatus to administer a psychophysical test suitable for use in practicing the disclosed methods.
Abstract: The new variety ‘TH-1008’ is provided. The new and distinct variety flowers in early March in south Georgia, requiring frost protection for acceptable yields. The fruit of the new variety ‘TH-1008’ are ripen in early May in south Georgia and are very large, firm, and have good flavor. The new variety ‘TH-1008’ is compact with an estimated chilling requirement of about 200 to 300 hours at or below approximately 7° C. The asexually reproduced variety is reliably propagated vegetatively.
