Abstract: A method for reducing artifacts in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) data includes acquiring a k-space dataset of an anatomical subject using a MRI scanner. An iterative compressed sensing reconstruction method is used to generate a reconstructed image based on the k-space dataset. This iterative compressed sensing reconstruction method uses (a) L1-norm based total variation constraints applied the temporal and spatial dimensions of the k-space dataset and (b) a low rank constraint. After the reconstructed image is generated, a deep learning network is used to generate an artifact image depicting motion artifacts present in the reconstructed image. The reconstructed image is subtracted from the artifact image to yield a final image with the motion artifacts removed.

Abstract: A wavelength multiplexing device is disclosed. When light is irradiated on a first longitudinal end region of a metal nano-structure, surface plasmon polaritons are generated in the first longitudinal end region. The surface plasmon polaritons and the light are coupled with each other to form first coupled surface plasmon polaritons, wherein the first coupled surface plasmon polaritons propagate along and on a surface of the metal nano-structure. When the first coupled surface plasmon polaritons reach a two-dimensional material layer, excitons are induced in the two-dimensional material layer, wherein the induced excitons and the first coupled surface plasmon polaritons are coupled with each other to form second coupled surface plasmon polaritons. The second coupled surface plasmon polaritons propagate along and on a surface of the metal nano-structure toward a second longitudinal end thereof.

Abstract: Using chemical genetic screening, we discovered a small molecule Cellulosin (aka endosidin20 or ES20) that causes cell swollen and inhibits plant growth, but does not disrupt global vesicle trafficking. By doing mutant screening, we obtained multiple alleles of Arabidopsis thaliana that are resistant to Cellulosin inhibition in growth. Those mutated amino acid residues are conserved across plant species. Cellulosin targets a group of cellulose synthases (CesAs) of Arabidopsis thaliana by binding to a conserved domain essential for the catalytic activity of CesA. Cellulosin may target and inhibit all subtypes of CesAs in plants. The present invention relates to Cellulosin, a cellulose synthase inhibitor, its analogs or derivatives as abroad-spectrum herbicide. The mutated genes, their protein products and a cell or a plant having those mutated genes or expressing those protein products are within the scope of this disclosure.
