  • Publication number: 20220262561
Abstract: In one aspect, described is a magnetic-core inductor design approach that leverages NiZn ferrites with low loss at RF, distributed gaps and field balancing to achieve improved performance eat tens of MHz and at hundreds of watts and above. Also described is an inductor design which achieves “self-shielding” in which the magnetic field generated by the element is wholly contained within the physical volume of the structure rather than extending into space as a conventional air-core inductor would. This approach enables significant reductions of system enclosure volume and improvements in overall system efficiency.

  • Publication number: 20220259658
Abstract: The disclosure provides a miRNA marker for the treatment and/or diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease (AD), and the miRNA marker is a miRNA23 cluster. The disclosure provides use of the miRNA23 cluster in the diagnosis and treatment of AD. The expression of the miRNA23 cluster is detected using primers for the microRNA marker through AD model cells, AD model animals and natural aging animals, and blood of AD patients, and it is found that the expression of the miRNA23 cluster is significantly reduced during the progression of AD, which reduces neuronal apoptosis by inhibiting the GSK-3?-mediated tau protein phosphorylation. Therefore, the miRNA23 cluster can be used as a novel biomarker and therapeutic target for the early, non-invasive diagnosis and treatment of AD.

  • Publication number: 20220262071
Abstract: Provided is a method for generating a hollow structure of a 3D model on the basis of a 2D laminated cross-sectional outline to reduce the amount of using a material or the weight of a printed matter during laminating and manufacturing. The method for generating a hollow structure based on a 2D laminated cross-sectional outline, according to an embodiment of the present invention, comprises the steps of: slicing the 3D model; generating a hollow structure outline on the basis of the result of the slicing; detecting an overhang area between adjacent hollow structure outlines; recalculating the hollow structure outline according to the result of detecting the overhang area; and generating a hollow structure mesh on the basis of the recalculated hollow structure outline. Accordingly, because 2D laminated cross-sectional data is used, a hollow structure can be generated without separate data processing, thereby reducing a calculation burden.

  • Patent number: 11418030
Abstract: Fast simultaneous feasibility testing (SFT) for management of an electrical power grid is achieved through various innovations. The computation problem relates to evaluation of candidate solutions for external power flows into a power grid, with respect to predetermined constraints and contingencies. Storage and computations are reduced by formulating the problem in terms of transactional nodes (e.g. third party connections for generators and loads) instead of the larger number of bus nodes. Further advantages are achieved by precomputing matrices that can be reused across multiple SFT invocations, organizing matrices and operations to reduce storage and computation, and eliminating branches that have no contingency violations.

  • Patent number: 11412963
Abstract: The concentration of substance in blood is measured non-invasively, with high accuracy and with simple configuration. Laser light generated by a light source is locally irradiated on the body epithelium of a subject, and the resulting diffused reflected light is detected by a light detector. The laser light has a wavelength of 9.26 ?m. The laser light is generated by converting and amplifying pulsed excitation light from an excitation light source to a long wavelength. A plate-shaped window that is transparent to mid-infrared light is brought in close contact with the body epithelium. The glucose concentration in interstitial fluid can be calculated using normalized light intensity calculated from a signal ratio of signals from a monitoring light detector and the light detector.
