Abstract: Various aspects of this disclosure relate to a prosthetic cover comprising an array of sensors, which transmit signals to an array of electrodes in a liner that fits over a residual limb of an amputee. Different interactions with the prosthetic cover cause different activation of the electrodes to transmit electrical current through different areas of the residual limb and modulate neurons differently within the residual limb.
Abstract: A temporary alignment system and method for holding a dental coping to an implant abutment using the same threads in the abutment that are used for definitive attachment are disclosed. The disclosed temporary fasteners initially orient and hold a coping against an abutment with a force along the same axis as the semi-definitive screw. The aligned coping can be picked-up in a closed-tray impression process without unscrewing the temporary fastener. Embodiments include threaded posts that release copings from the abutment through axial forces. Some embodiments include a threaded post with separable cap that is picked-up with the coping. Methods for converting an existing prosthesis for screw attachment to implants in a single visit and digital capture of the converted prosthesis are described.

Abstract: A data processing system for processing requests for features at a file collaboration platform implements receiving, at the file collaboration platform, a request from a client device to invoke a requested service on one or more files, wherein the requested service is associated with a feature provided by the file collaboration platform; determining a current operating status of the file collaboration platform; obtaining a feature-specific policy associated with the feature associated with the request; determining whether the requested service is allowed by the file collaboration platform based on the current operating status of the file collaboration platform and the feature-specific policy associated with the feature; allocating capacity to the request at the file collaboration platform for performing the request responsive to determining that the requested service is allowed; and sending a first message to the client device indicating that the client device may invoke the requested service.
Abstract: The present disclosure provides methods and apparatuses for phrase-based end-to-end text-to-speech (TTS) synthesis. A text may be obtained. A target phrase in the text may be identified. A phrase context of the target phrase may be determined. An acoustic feature corresponding to the target phrase may be generated based at least on the target phrase and the phrase context. A speech waveform corresponding to the target phrase may be generated based on the acoustic feature.
Abstract: Magnetoresistive element including a reference layer having a fixed reference magnetization, a sense layer having a free sense magnetization and a tunnel barrier layer between the reference layer and the sense layer; the magnetoresistive element being configured to measure an external magnetic field oriented substantially perpendicular to the plane of the layers. The reference magnetization being oriented substantially perpendicular to the plane of the reference layer. The sense magnetization including a vortex configuration in the absence of an external magnetic field, the vortex configuration being substantially parallel to the plane of the sense layer and having a vortex core magnetization along an out-of-plane axis substantially perpendicular to the plane of the sense layer.
Abstract: Devices and systems having a vertical waveguide array are provided having a plurality of vertical waveguides disposed on a support substrate in an array, where each vertical waveguide further includes a reflective layer positioned to reflect impinging light toward the support substrate, a core region extending from the reflective layer to the support substrate, the core region further comprising, a first contact region and a second contact region electrically isolated from one another disposed between the reflective layer and the support substrate, and a low refractive index material disposed between the first contact region and the second contact region. The first contact region and the second contact region are operable to create a voltage drop across the low refractive index material and the low refractive index material has a lower refractive index compared to the refractive indexes of the first contact region and the second contact region.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for providing user key material from a server to a client is disclosed. The method comprises receiving a first message from the client in a server, the first message having a user key material request, an access token and an identifier of a transport key (TrK-ID), validating the user key material request according to the access token, generating a response having user key material responsive to the user key material request, encrypting the response according to the transport key (TrK), and transmitting a second message comprising the response from the server to the client. The client decrypts the second message according to the transport key (TrK) and validates the second message using the identifier of the transport key (TrK-ID).
Abstract: In a computer system, an orchestration platform includes extensible components that interact with external systems and technology. The platform extension deploys a surrogate component or probe that acts as a bridge between the core platform and the extension technology.
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, that facilitate generating stable real-time textual translations in a target language of an input audio data stream that is recorded in a source language. An audio stream that is recorded in a first language is obtained. A partial transcription of the audio can be generated at each time interval in a plurality of successive time intervals. Each partial transcription can be translated into a second language that is different from the first language. Each translated partial transcription can be input to a model that determines whether a portion of an input translated partial transcription is stable. Based on the input translated partial transcription, the model identifies a portion of the translated partial transcription that is predicted to be stable. This stable portion of the translated partial transcription is provided for display on a user device.
Abstract: The disclosed computer-implemented method may include applying, via a sound reproduction system, sound cancellation that reduces an amplitude of various sound signals. The method further includes identifying, among the sound signals, an external sound whose amplitude is to be reduced by the sound cancellation. The method then includes analyzing the identified external sound to determine whether the identified external sound is to be made audible to a user and, upon determining that the external sound is to be made audible to the user, the method includes modifying the sound cancellation so that the identified external sound is made audible to the user. Various other methods, systems, and computer-readable media are also disclosed.

Abstract: Innovations in intra-picture prediction with multiple candidate reference lines available are described herein. For example, intra-picture prediction for a current block uses a non-adjacent reference line of sample values to predict the sample values of the current block. This can improve the effectiveness of the intra-picture prediction when the reference line of sample values that is adjacent the current block includes significant capture noise, significant quantization error, or significantly different values (compared to the current block) due to an occlusion.
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for automating software application infrastructure deployment in a cloud computing environment include defining hierarchical infrastructure layers for a software application, generating a deployment pipeline for the software application comprising pre-coded resource configuration modules, and triggering execution of the deployment pipeline to deploy the software application in the cloud computing environment.
Abstract: It is desirable to process a header by a processor for flexible processing in a stream data processing device. However, in the processing by the processor, load/store overhead increases and causes a problem in performance. Stream data is directly written to or read out from a large size data queue, a part of which is mapped to a region (window) of a general-purpose register of the processor. Imposing constraints on update of a pointer of the queue makes it possible to ensure that a large-small relationship between pointers can be constantly correctly evaluated, and thus to maintain the consistency between write to and read from the queue and the processor processing. A region, which is the same as the data queue, has a control flag queue mapped to a control and status register space of the processor, and the processor gives this control flag, so that an output from the queue is finely controlled without copying the data.
