Abstract: Systems and methods for improving the use of precipitation sensors, such as radar and rain gauges, are described herein. In an embodiment, an agricultural intelligence computer system receives one or more digital precipitation records comprising a plurality of digital data values representing precipitation amount at a plurality of locations. The system additionally receives one or more digital forecast records comprising a plurality of digital data values representing precipitation forecasts, each of which comprising predictions of precipitation at a plurality of lead times. The system identifies a plurality of forecast values for a plurality of locations at a particular time, each of the plurality of forecast values corresponding to a different lead time. The system uses the plurality of forecast values to generate a probability of precipitation at each of the plurality of locations.

Abstract: A method for conserving resources in a distributed system includes receiving an event-criteria list from a resource controller. The event-criteria list includes one or more events watched by the resource controller and the resource controller controls at least one target resource and is configured to respond to events from the event-criteria list that occur. The method also includes determining whether the resource controller is idle. When the resource controller is idle, the method includes terminating the resource controller, determining whether any event from the event-criteria list occurs after terminating the resource controller, and, when at least one event from the event-criteria list occurs after terminating the resource controller, recreating the resource controller.

Abstract: An electronic device, computer program product, and method present augmented reality (AR) imagery at an AR display device with contextual, adaptive brightening control. The AR display device includes eyeglasses having lenses positioned in front of eyes of a person. A first camera sensor detects ambient light. An AR projector displays AR imagery on the lenses. A second camera sensor is configured to detect whether the eyes of the person are open or closed. A controller of the electronic device is communicatively coupled to the AR display device. The controller detects brightness of the ambient light. The controller dynamically adjusts brightness of the AR imagery in relation to the brightness of the ambient light. The controller reduces the brightness of the AR imagery in response to determining a brightness context that the eyes of the person have been closed for longer than threshold period of time.

Abstract: Various hanging assemblies are disclosed. The hanging assembly can be configured to hold a bathing accessory, such as a loofa or a bath sponge, to more effectively dry the bathing accessory between uses. The hanging assembly can include a hanging apparatus and an adhesive component configured to adhere the hanging apparatus to a surface, such as a shower wall. The hanging assembly can include a base portion, a hook portion, and an intermediate portion extending between the base portion and the hook portion. The base portion can include a proximal side opposite a distal side. The adhesive component can be applied to the proximal side of the base portion to adhere the hanging apparatus to the surface.

Abstract: A volatiles consuming eductor system for coated scrap metal furnaces with separate delacquering and melt chambers. Motive gas is forced through an inlet into a mixing chamber in a direction opposite a suction port, creating a Venturi that draws gases from the delaquering chamber through the mixing chamber. The motive gas and the drawn gases mix and are forced through a discharge port, ignited, and injected into the melt chamber to help heat the melt chamber. A computer monitors process conditions and controls a regulator that adjusts the motive gas flow in response to those conditions.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method includes generating, using a transaction management computing subsystem of an advertising platform, a set of primary bid requests responsive to receipt of an advertising call. Each primary bid request includes information sufficient to characterize an impression consumer and information sufficient to characterize each of one or more impressions identified in the advertising call. The method also includes sending the set of primary bid requests from the transaction management computing subsystem to a first set of decisioning computing subsystems of the advertising platform. Each decisioning computing subsystem of the first set being operable to generate a bid response based on the information included in a primary bid request.

Abstract: The disclosed technology provides solutions for protecting the health of ride-sharing passengers by detecting passenger illnesses, and taking precautions to safely address potentially exposed vehicles. A process of the disclosed technology can include steps for: collecting sensor-data corresponding with one or more AV passengers, determining a likelihood that at least one of the AV passengers is suffering from a physical illness, and transmitting a wellness notification to a fleet management system if the likelihood exceeds a predetermined threshold. Systems and machine-readable media are also provided.

The method comprises receiving an application service availability message by the UE that identifies a plurality of networks that provide access to an identified application executing on an edge computing node within the network; for each network identified in the application service availability message, receiving by the UE an application service figure-of-merit determined by that network associated with a prospective application layer connection between the UE and an edge computing node executing the identified application that is located in that network; based on evaluating the figure-of-merit associated with each network establishing an application layer connection by the UE via the selected network to the application executing on the edge computing node in the selected network.

Abstract: A vehicle of the present disclosure may include at least one pair of opposing wheels coupled to a tiltable central chassis by a four-bar linkage or the like, such that the wheels are configured to tilt in unison with the central chassis. A steering actuator and/or a tilting actuator may be discretely controllable by an electronic controller of the vehicle. The controller may include processing logic configured to maintain alignment between a median plane of the chassis and a net force vector caused by gravity and any induced centrifugal forces. Various control algorithms may be utilized to steer the vehicle along a desired path, either autonomously or semi-autonomously.
