Abstract: Techniques are described for the use of moats for isolating and singulating semiconductor devices formed on a wafer. Described techniques use dielectric films, such as an oxide-nitride film, to coat moat surfaces and provide passivation. The dielectric films may form a junction with a metal contact layer, to reduce electrical overstress that may otherwise occur in the resulting semiconductor devices. To ensure coverage of the moat surfaces, spray coating of a positive photoresist may be used.

Abstract: A situational awareness system providing geographic, personal characteristic and subject matter of interest awareness using information obtained from location reporting mobile devices. The system displays personal characteristic information for target member segments defined with a great deal of specificity, which may be followed by online queries to the target member segment. Member participation in online queries may require interested members to “opt-in” to limit query distribution to members that have indicated an interest in responding to online queries on the particular subject matter of interest. This increases the efficiency and effectiveness of the online queries, while reducing the cost and imposition on members who are not be interested in participating.

Abstract: This document describes methods, devices, systems, and means for user-equipment-coordination-set (404) selective participation in which a coordinating user equipment (111) determines which user equipments in the user-equipment-coordination-set (404) participate in a joint communication with a base station (121). The coordinating user equipment (111) receives an indication from the base station (121) specifying multiple user equipments to include in the user-equipment-coordination set (702) and determines a first subset of the multiple user equipments to participate in the joint communication with the base station (121) (704). The coordinating user equipment (111) transmits one or more joint-communication-selection messages to the first subset of the multiple user equipments that directs the first subset of the multiple user equipments to participate in the joint communication with the base station (121) (706).

Abstract: A load control device for controlling the amount of power delivered to an electrical load may include a rectifier circuit configured to receive a phase-control voltage and produce a rectified voltage. A power converter may be configured to receive the rectified voltage at an input and generate a bus voltage. An input capacitor may be coupled across the input of the power converter. The input capacitor may be adapted to charge when the magnitude of the phase control voltage is approximately zero volts. The power converter may be configured to operate in a boost mode, such that the magnitude of the bus voltage is greater than a peak magnitude of the input voltage. The power converter may be configured to operate in a buck mode to charge the input capacitor from the bus voltage when the magnitude of the phase-control voltage is approximately zero volts.

Abstract: A system and method enabling an upgraded digital recorder to detect, retrieve, decrypt, encrypt and securely store digital content retrieved from one or more legacy digital recorders. The legacy digital recorder is placed into a mode permitting access to stored digital content. An upgraded digital recorder then interfaces with the legacy digital recorder and mutual authentication is performed. Following successful authentication, the upgraded digital recorder disables most of the legacy digital recorder's functionality. Utilizing a digital key protecting the stored content from unauthorized access, the upgraded digital recorder retrieves and decrypts the digital content from the legacy digital recorder. The decrypted content is then analyzed and if needed converted to a format compatible with the upgraded digital recorder. The digital content is then indexed, encrypted and stored in the upgraded digital recorder.

Abstract: Implementations described and claimed herein provide systems and methods for a configurable optical peering fabric to dynamically create a connection between participant sites without any physical site limitations or necessity of specialized client and network provider equipment being located within such a facility. Client sites to a network may connect to a configurable switching element to be interconnected to other client sites in response to a request to connect the first client site with a second site, also connected to network, via the switching element. A request may trigger verification of the requested and, upon validation, transmission of an instruction to the switching element to enable the cross connect within the switching element. The first site and the second site may thus be interconnected via the switching element in response to the request, without the need to co-locate equipment or to manually install a jumper between client equipment.
