Patent number: 7438960Abstract: A transparent article includes a continuous polyester matrix having at least one incompatible filler dispersed therein. The incompatible filler provides domains in the polyester matrix, each domain having a particular dimension, thus providing a range of dimensions for the domains in the article. To create haze, the dimensions are within the range of from about 380 nm to about 720 nm. Once the range of dimensions is determined, a light absorbent composition can be found which absorbs light at a range of wavelengths that at least substantially covers the range of dimensions of the domains. Patent number: 7440755Abstract: A system and method for finding a wireless local area network, WLAN, when a mobile terminal is connected to a cellular network. A position associated with each WLAN operating within the coverage area of the cellular network is stored in a database. At predefined intervals or conditions, the system determines a current position of the mobile terminal, and determines whether the current position of the mobile terminal is close enough to a stored WLAN position for the mobile terminal to connect to the WLAN corresponding to the stored WLAN position. If so, a notification is sent to the mobile terminal indicating that the mobile terminal is within range of the identified WLAN. The mobile terminal then scans for the identified WLAN.Type: GrantFiled: June 17, 2003Date of Patent: October 21, 2008Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget L M Ericsson (PUBL)Inventors: Kumar Balachandran, Havish Koorapaty, Rajaram Ramesh

Patent number: 7437175Abstract: Methods and apparatus for determining when uplink synchronization has been achieved when entering or adding a link in soft handover to a new node in a communication system. Transmit power control (TPC) commands from the new link are not included in a TPC command combination until an uplink synchronization detector determines that synchronization has been achieved. Since in many communication systems, a pattern of TPC commands is transmitted on the new downlink as long as the new node's uplink is not synchronized, the uplink synchronization detector can determine whether synchronization has been achieved by determining whether the TPC command pattern is present in the new downlink. In this way, the UL synchronization detector reduces the occurrence and magnitude of unwanted peaks and dips in uplink transmitted power.Type: GrantFiled: May 6, 2004Date of Patent: October 14, 2008Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget L M Ericsson (publ)Inventors: Bengt Lindoff, Bo Bernhardsson
