  • Patent number: 7897469
Abstract: A method of manufacturing an I-MOS device includes forming a semiconductor layer (2) on a buried insulating layer (4). A gate structure (23) including a gate stack (14) is formed on the semiconductor layer, and used to (5) self align the formation of a source region (28) by implantation. Then, an etch step is used to selectively etch the gate structure (23) and this is followed by forming a drain region (36) by implantation. The method can precisely control the i-region length (38) between source region (28) and gate stack (14).

  • Patent number: 7899966
Abstract: A method for distributing interrupt load to processors in a multiprocessor system. The method includes executing current transactions with multiple processors (104, 106, 108) where each transaction is associated with one of the processors, generating an interrupt request, estimating a transaction completion time for each processor and directing the interrupt request (102) to the processor having the least estimated transaction completion time. Estimating a transaction completion time occurs periodically so that information pertaining to transaction times is stored and continually updated. According to one aspect of the invention, the step of estimating a transaction completion time for each processor occurs when the interrupt request is generated. According to another aspect of the invention, the step of communicating the interrupt request includes communicating the interrupt request to an intermediary processor prior to estimating the transaction completion time.

  • Publication number: 20110043129
Abstract: The present invention relates to a driving circuit (100) connected to a conventional phase-cut dimmer. A LED light source (30) is driven by a switched mode power supply (26), which is powered by the mains voltage through a phase-cut dimmer (10) and a rectifier (22). The current through the LED light source (30) is reduced according to the voltage level of the average rectified voltage Vin detected by a voltage sensor (24) and the on time limitation of the switched mode power supply (26). The current amplitude will be increasingly reduced towards the low voltage levels of Vin, namely towards the low dimmer knob levels. Thereby, the invention allows a LED light source driving circuit (100) connected to a conventional phase-cut dimmer to readily make the dimming curve of the LED light source (30) non-linear for being more compatible with the human eye sensitivity.

  • Publication number: 20110044408
Abstract: A received OFDM signal is demodulated by sampling the OFDM signal at successive time instants and computing a Fourier transform of the samples for a block of time instants. In addition, a sliding Fourier transform is computed at every new one of the same input samples, to extract a pilot frequency tone. From results of the sliding Fourier transform a frequency error signal is detected. This signal is fed back the in a frequency synchronization feedback loop. The frequency synchronization feedback loop may be used to track the pilot tone by adjusting a phase correction signal and/or to track sample clock frequency variations.

  • Patent number: 7893713
Abstract: This invention relates to mixed signal integrated circuits, that is, integrated circuits comprising both analog and digital circuitry. More particularly, it concerns reduction of noise in such a device. When a digital circuit is included in the same integrated circuit device as an analog circuit, the digital circuit may be an additional source of a considerable amount of noise. This results in cross-talk, electrical interference and signal distortion imposed on the analog signals. The invention provides an integrated circuit comprising analog circuitry (26) and digital circuitry (29, 30) wherein the digital circuitry includes an ASM (30). An ASM does not require a clock signal. Its operation is triggered by appropriate input conditions, but in contrast to an SSM it is idle when there in no change in its inputs, lowering the level of noise generated by the digital circuitry.

  • Publication number: 20110037861
Abstract: The invention concerns a method for digital image stabilization for removing jitter from an original sequence of images (10) generated by a camera. The original sequence (10) is applied to a stabilization algorithm (11). The global motion of a camera is estimated and filtered (110) using a default motion filter. Predetermined parameters (13, 140, 141) are extracted from both the original (10) and stabilized (12) sequences of images. A measure value is computed in order to evaluate (15) the stabilization quality and compared to a threshold. Depending on the results of the evaluation (O15, O?15) the stabilization algorithm (11) uses an alternative filter, in order to improve stabilization quality, or continues to use the default filter.
