Abstract: A system for collecting biomass for the production of ethanol is disclosed. Also disclosed is a method for collecting biomass. The method comprising: harvesting biomass with a combine, wherein a first portion of the biomass is substantially forced against the ground and a second portion of the biomass passes through the combine and forming bales comprising the second portion of the biomass. According to an aspect, the bales comprise a majority of the second portion of the biomass and a small part of the first portion of the biomass.

Abstract: Compounds are disclosed that are effective in inhibition of fatty acid amide hydrolase, an enzyme responsible for catabolism of endogenous cannabinoids such as anandamide. The compounds are useful as analgesic compounds and as sleep-inducing compounds, that can be orally administered, and that can have a relatively long duration of effect. Methods of preparation of the compounds are also provided. The compounds are conformationally constrained analogs of heterocyclylketones such as oxazolylketones.

Abstract: An electrode assembly for a plasma reaction chamber used in semiconductor substrate processing. The assembly includes an upper showerhead electrode which is mechanically attached to a backing plate by a series of spaced apart cam locks. A guard ring surrounds the backing plate and is movable to positions at which openings in the guard ring align with openings in the backing plate so that the cam locks can be rotated with a tool to release locking pins extending from the upper face of the electrode.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for the production of ethylene glycol using a feedstock comprising an oxalate and a catalyst containing copper and/or a copper oxide, comprising contacting the feedstock with the catalyst in a reactor under the conditions of a temperature in the range from about 170 to about 270° C., a weight hourly space velocity of the oxalate in the range from about 0.2 to about 5 h?1, a molar ratio of hydrogen to the oxalate in the range from about 40:1 to about 200:1 and a reaction pressure in the range from about 1.5 to about 10 MPa, to produce an effluent containing ethylene glycol, in which the reactor is a tube-array reactor using partitioned heat exchange and adopting outer and inner tubes configured in a double-tube structure to facilitate the heat exchange of the catalyst.

Abstract: Presented are systems and methods for identifying an active participant in a conferencing event. A sound input is received from the active participant in the conferencing event at a microphone associated with an electronic device. The sound input is compared to a pre-defined voice of a particular participant, and when a match is found, the active participant is identified to be that particular participant. A message is then sent to a server indicating that the active participant has been identified. The server then provides the identity information of the active participant in the conferencing event.

Abstract: The subject invention pertains to compositions and methods for promoting repair of damaged nerve tissue using nerve grafts and preparation of nerve grafts. The compositions and methods of the subject invention can be employed to restore the continuity of nerve interrupted by disease, traumatic events or surgical procedures. Compositions of the subject invention comprise one or more chondroitin sulfate proteoglycan (CSPG)-degrading enzymes that promote axonal penetration into damaged nerve tissue and nerve graft. The invention also concerns methods for promoting repair of damaged nerve tissue using the present compositions and nerve tissue treated according to such methods. The invention also includes storage solutions for nerve tissue.

The C-shaped reflecting plate includes a parabolic surface defining a symmetrical axis and a focusing axis. The heat pipe is disposed on the focusing axis of the parabolic surface with a working fluid flowing therein. In the case of pharmaceutical delivery, the medication is delivered to the treatment site via an applicator. Power sources other than electricity include, but are not limited to, the temperature of a person's body heat exceeding the ambient temperature of surrounding air.

Abstract: The invention provides a pharmaceutical composition comprising a synthetic or naturally occurring charged phospholipid, which is formulated into a dosage form for administration to a subject or which is administered as a food additive. Negatively charged phospholipid composition increase the net negative charge on intravascular lipoproteins, enhance the clearance of cholesterol and regulate the function of lipolytic enzymes, retard prothrombin formation and aid in the clearance of virus and bacterial particles. Negatively charged lipid compositions can therefore be administered to humans and animals for the treatment of hyperlipidemia and blood coagulation disorders and to reduce the levels of virus, bacteria, and endotoxins in the blood stream. Positively charged lipid compositions can be administered to delay lipoprotein clearance from the plasma compartment and give longer duration of activity for drugs which are associated with lipoproteins.

Abstract: According to the present invention, a multi-dimensional image detection apparatus includes a touch surface, at least one two-vision image sensing module located proximally to the touch surface, and a control module coupled to the image sensing module. The multiple-dimensional image detection apparatus can detect a foreign object's image with at least two different dimensional modes. A method of multiple-dimensional image detection is also disclosed by reading the image data acquired by the image sensing module and comparing with a pre-stored background data to determine detecting the foreign object under a predetermined dimensional mode.
