    Abstract: Disclosed are methods for generating oxygen via an electrolysis reaction. In one aspect, a method includes: repeatedly performing a reflectance measuring routine, the reflectance measuring routine including: alternatingly outputting light at each of the plurality of electromagnetic radiation emitting devices; and monitoring light received at one or more of the electromagnetic radiation receiving devices as a result of the alternating output; determining, based on the light received at the one or more electromagnetic radiation receiving devices, whether a predetermined gesture has been performed; and performing a function associated with the predetermined gesture when the predetermined gesture has been performed.

    Abstract: A device for collecting material from a solid surface, and optionally concentrating the collected material, for subsequent analysis includes a nebulizer that generates and discharges a fluid stream, and a collector positioned to intercept material caused by the fluid stream after it is deflected from the solid surface. The device is usable in a sample collection process having steps of spraying a fluid stream of gas containing nebulized solvent as the solid surface, positioning a collector to intercept material carried by the fluid.     Abstract: A solar cell production method involves printing longer central gridlines and one or more pairs of shorter “side” gridlines such that end points of the two gridline sets form step patterns on octagonal (pseudo-square) substrates. A special printhead is used that includes a set of central nozzles which receive ink from a first valve by way of a first flow channel to print the longer central gridlines, and additional sets of side nozzles that receive ink from additional valves by way of additional flow channels to print the shorter “side” gridlines. The central nozzles have outlet orifices that offset in the process direction from side outlet orifices of the side nozzles. A start signal is simultaneously sent to the valves such that ink is substantially simultaneously extruded through both the central and side orifices, whereby the extruded ink produces gridline endpoints having the desired step pattern.

    Abstract: N-type voltage-gated calcium channels (CaV2.2) are critical mediators of neurotransmitter release and are thought to be involved with transmission of nociception. The use of conventional CaV2.2 blockers in pain therapeutics is limited by side effects. Reported herein is a means to suppress both inflammatory and neuropathic pain without directly blocking CaV2.2, but rather by inhibiting the binding of the axonal collapsin response mediator protein 2 (CRMP-2), a protein known to enhance CaV2.2 function. A 15 amino acid peptide of CRMP-2 fused to the protein transduction domain of the HIV tat protein (TAT CBD3) reduced meningeal blood flow induced by activation of the trigeminovascular system, prevented inflammation-induced tactile hypernociception induced by intraplantar formalin and nocifensive behavior following corneal capsaicin application, and reversed neuropathic hypernociception produced by the antiretroviral drug 2?,3?-dideoxycytidine.
