Patent number: 4634806Abstract: A high-voltage insulator which is suitable for use in chambers carrying gas highly charged with solid particles and is used particularly in electrostatic filters used for cleaning an exhaust gas derived from internal combustion engines used to drive motor vehicles. The high-voltage insulator is columnar in structure, having shield-like ribs succeeding one another at intervals, adjacent to each of which in the insulator is one recess. With the remaining insulator parts having a smaller diameter, this recess forms a sharp edge, which defines discharge paths toward the flank of the shield-like ribs. Inside these paths, the insulator is kept free of soot coatings or conductive coatings, so that the insulator itself offers high resistance to leakage currents, which would cause insupportable power losses.Type: GrantFiled: November 26, 1984Date of Patent: January 6, 1987Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventors: Gottlob Haag, Karl-Heinz Hagele, Helmut Harer

Patent number: 4633837Abstract: To control the fuel injection pressure, in particular in high-pressure injection in self-igniting internal combustion engines, the pumping or supply phase of a cam-driven, intermittently operating pump piston of a fuel injection pump is determined by the closing time of a relief-metering valve and controlled in such a manner that the closing of the relief-metering valve for the supply onset (FB) is earlier, by the amount .DELTA..alpha., than the opening of control valves by way of which the fuel pumped by the pump piston is supplied to the individual injection locations. By means of the initial pumping amount or pre-stroke (.DELTA.h or .DELTA..alpha.), fuel is pumped into a closed system, and the injection pressure present at the injection valve at the instant of the opening (SB) is thus controlled.Type: GrantFiled: September 24, 1985Date of Patent: January 6, 1987Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventors: Rudolf Babitzka, Ernst Linder, Wilhelm Polach

Patent number: 4632466Abstract: A dual-circuit pressure medium brake system is equipped with relay valves disposed ahead of the brake cylinders. Each brake circuit is equipped with a control also acting in the other circuit and overlapping each other, and a primary brake circuit is designed in such a way that it contains all control elements necessary for optimal brake pressure adaptation, while a secondary brake circuit is merely an auxiliary brake circuit without control elements. In this manner each brake pressure metering can be simultaneously adjusted. During the loss of the primary brake circuit, the secondary brake circuit guarantees a minimal brake pressure. Such a pressure medium brake system is preferably used in air brake systems of motor vehicles.Type: GrantFiled: September 8, 1982Date of Patent: December 30, 1986Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventors: Ingolf Grauel, Gunter Kulke, Egbert Muller, Werner Stumpe

Patent number: 4630582Abstract: The invention is directed to an arrangement for rapidly adjusting an electromagnetic load associated with internal combustion engines. The output signals of two control systems are combined in a logic circuit such that priority is assigned to one of the two control systems. Dependent on the output signal of the higher-order control system, an evaluation circuit acts on a switch arrangement to thereby suitably influence the signal resulting from the combining operation of the output signals of the two control systems. This arrangement makes it possible to speed up the delivery of the output signal of the higher-order control system to the electromagnetic load which may be an injection valve, for example. The higher-order control system may be a smooth-running control system.Type: GrantFiled: October 17, 1984Date of Patent: December 23, 1986Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventors: Thomas Kuttner, Max Straubel, Wolf Wessel

Patent number: 4629259Abstract: To reduce the transmission requirement of transmitting data between brake controlled microprocessors (7, 8, 9; 20-25) and a reference microprocessor, or reference microprocessor section (15) within one of the wheel speed microprocessors, the microprocessors are connected in a ring connection, or ring bus (13; 26, 27). The microprocessors generate, in each processing cycle, a code number based on the then pertaining operating conditions of the wheel or axle with which the respective microprocessor is associated. A code number determines one of several slopes for changing the reference signal. The code numbers are applied to the ring connection and thus to the reference microprocessor, where they are compared with stored code numbers, in which the stored code numbers are arranged in a predetermined priority sequence.Type: GrantFiled: September 26, 1985Date of Patent: December 16, 1986Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventor: Jurgen Brauninger
