Abstract: 5,5,7,7-tetramethyl-3-substituted or unsubstituted-phenylfuro[3,4-e]-as-triazines and corresponding 4-oxides, e.g., 5,7-dihydro-5,5,7,7-tetramethyl-3-phenylfuro[3,4-e]-as-triazine and 5,7-dihydro-5,5,7,7-tetramethyl-3-phenylfuro[3,4-e]-as-triazine-4-oxide, are prepared from 2,2,5,5-tetramethyl-3,4(2H,5H)-furandione-3-hydrazone-4-oximes and are useful as sleep inducers and minor tranquilizers.

Abstract: Disclosed are compounds which are tetracyclic derivatives of imidazo[2,1-b]quinazolinones, e.g., 6-(p-fluorobenzyl)-1,2,3,4,4a,12a-hexahydrobenzimidazo[2,1-b]quinazolin-11 (6H)-one. The compounds are also useful as bronchodilator agents, and certain compounds are also useful as tranquillizers and sedative/hypnotic agents. The compounds may be prepared by reacting an isatoic anhydride with a 2-organomercapto-hexahydrobenzimidazole or hexahydrocyclopentimidazole such as 3a,4,5,6,7,7a-hexahydro-2-mercaptomethyl-3H-benzimidazole.

Abstract: 1,3-Dihydrocarbyl-pyrazole compounds, having a 5-hydroxyl group in free or nickel salt form, characterized by a ketoxyimino group bound directly to the 4-position of the pyrazole ring through the ketoxyimino functional carbon atom, which are useful as stabilizers of organic materials against the adverse effects of ultraviolet light.

Abstract: The purpose of the invention are new benzene phosphonous acid compounds in which two to four benzene nuclei are bound together and which contain one to three phosphorus atoms. The new compounds are free acids, their salts with inorganic cations, their esters, thioesters or amides. The invention concerns also the manufacture of these benzene phosphonous acid compounds and their use for the stabilization of organic materials.

Abstract: 5,5,7,7-tetramethyl-3-substituted or unsubstituted-phenylfuro[3,4-e]-as-triazines, e.g., 5,7-dihydro-5,5,7,7-tetramethyl-3-(m-nitrophenyl)furo[3,4-e]-as-triazine, are prepared by reacting a 2,2,5,5-tetramethyl-3,4(2H,5H)furandione with substituted or unsubstituted benzimidic acid hydrazide under an inert atmosphere in the presence of an inert organic solvent and are useful as sleep inducers and minor tranquilizers.

Abstract: This invention relates to an apparatus for the humidification of a gas, and it comprises an outer container having an inner chamber and a top cover. Within the inner chamber is a helix-shaped gas bubble conveyer. Water is introduced into the container, which in turn, fills the chamber. Gas bubbles are introduced into the chamber, and as they traverse the helix pathway, they are saturated with the water. Means are provided for recirculating the water and maintaining it at any desired temperature.
