    Abstract: Systems and method herein provide for energy buffering. In one embodiment, a system includes an energy buffer comprising at least two energy storage elements. Each energy storage element is operable to buffer electrical energy. The system also includes a switch module operable to charge a first of the at least two energy storage elements while discharging a second of the at least two energy storage elements, and to discharge the first energy storage element while charging the second energy storage element after charging the first energy storage element. The switched charging of the energy storage elements compensates voltage variations between the energy storage elements to increase available electrical energy from the energy buffer.

The releasable optical attachment comprises optical enhancement elements allowing universal compatibility without the need of an application or special program to re-orient the image therein permitting less loss of picture acuity and blanket usability to HIPAA-verified smartphone applications used in hospitals and patient's electronic health records.     Abstract: A millimeter-wave frequency synthesizer generates a millimeter wave by photomixing two Kerr-soliton microcombs. A single-frequency laser beam is modulated to create first and second pump components having first and second pump frequencies. The first pump component excites a first microresonator to create a first microcomb while the second pump component excites a second microresonator to generate a second microcomb. A pair of comb lines from the two microcombs is detected to generate a low-frequency beat note that is phase-locked by identically tuning the pump frequencies. Another pair of comb lines is detected with a high-speed photodiode to generate the millimeter wave. The frequency of the millimeter wave is based on (i) the difference between the pump frequencies, (ii) the difference between the repetition rates, and (iii) the index of the comb lines that are photomixed to generate the millimeter wave.

    Abstract: Various embodiments provide for the implementation of volumetric diffractive optics equivalent functionality via cascaded planar elements. To illustrate the principle, a design 3D diffractive optics and implement a two-layer continuous phase-only design on a single spatial light modulator (SLM) with a folded system. The system provides dynamic and efficient multiplexing capability. Numerical and experimental results show this approach improves system performance such as diffraction efficiency, spatial/spectral selectivity, and number of multiplexing functions relative to 2D devices while providing dynamic large space-bandwidth relative to current static volume diffractive optics. The limitations and capabilities of dynamic 3D diffractive optics are discussed.

In-process monitoring of the PEGylation process was used in the method to reduce levels of unPEGylated htCBS C15S and htCBS C15S with insufficient PEGylation. Administration of the PEGylated htCBS C15S had efficacy throughout the course of treatment for homocystinuria.
