Abstract: Disclosed is a method of adjusting the molecular weight of syndiotactic 1,2-polybutadiene prepared using an iron-based catalyst. In the present application, when an iron-based catalyst catalyzes the polymerization of butadiene to prepare syndiotactic 1,2-polybutadiene, alpha-olefins are added as a molecular weight regulator, and a chain transfer effect is achieved through competitive adsorption. At the same time, since alpha-olefins are stable to iron-based catalysts, cannot be initiated to polymerize, and are easy to separate from butadiene, they have a significant effect on molecular weight regulation and do not have a significant effect on activity, making it possible to prepare syndiotactic 1,2-polybutadiene thermoplastic elastomers with number average molecular weights ranging from 3,000-250,000. The syndiotactic 1,2-polybutadiene rubber prepared by the present application has better processability.

Abstract: An electrocardiograph (ECG) signal quality evaluation method based on a multi-scale convolutional and densely connected network is provided. Firstly, an original ECG signal is preprocessed to remove a baseline drift and power line interference. Then, based on a consistency principle of a label determining result and a principle of setting a confidence coefficient, an AlexNet model is trained to mutually correct incorrect labels in a dataset to obtain a final ECG signal fragment for quality classification. Finally, the signal fragment is input into an improved lightweight densely connected quality classification model to classify quality of the ECG signal fragment.

Abstract: Nearly all existing direct current (DC) chemical vapor sensing methodologies are based on charge transfer between sensor and adsorbed molecules. However, the high binding energy at the charge-trapped sites, which is critical for high sensitivity, significantly slows sensors' response and makes the detection of non-polar molecules difficult. By exploiting the incomplete screening effect of graphene, this disclosure demonstrates a DC graphene electronic sensor for rapid (sub-second) and sensitive (ppb) detection of a broad range of vapor analytes, including polar, non-polar, organic and inorganic molecules. Molecular adsorption induced capacitance change in the graphene transistor is revealed to be the main sensing mechanism. This work provides an avenue for a broad spectrum real-time gas sensing technology and serves as an ideal testbed for probing molecular physisorption on graphene.

Abstract: Multifunctional microelectronics fiber probes can be chronically implanted in tissue of awake-behaving animals for understanding brain-viscera communication. These fiber probes can be made using thermal drawing to make hundreds of meters of flexible fiber that incorporates features such as light sources, electrodes, thermal sensors, and microfluidic channels in a multilayered configuration. The fiber mechanics can be tuned for two distinct device layouts: (1) higher-modulus, flexible brain fibers for implantation into deep-brain; and (2) soft, compliant gut fibers for implantation into the small intestine. Brain fibers can modulate the deep-brain mesolimbic reward pathway. Gut fibers can perform peripheral optogenetic stimulation of vagal afferents from the intestine to stimulate brain reward neurons.

Abstract: The present embodiments relate to a soft magnetic composite synthesized via spark plasma sintering with both high saturation magnetic polarization and high electrical resistivity for efficient soft magnetic cores. CoFe powder particles coated with an insulating layer of Al2O3 were used as feedstock material to improve the electrical resistivity while retaining high saturation magnetic polarization. By maintaining a continuous non-magnetic Al2O3 phase throughout the material, both a high saturation magnetic polarization, above 1.5 T, and high electrical resistivity, above 100 ??·m, were achieved. Through microstructural characterization of samples consolidated at various temperatures, the role of microstructural evolution on the magnetic and electronic properties of the composite was elucidated.
