Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an apparatus and method for synthetically making an ultra-wide imaging bandwidth in millimeter-wave frequencies, resulting in improved image resolutions to values previously unattained. The synthetic approach sums up a number of available sub-bands to build an unavailable ultra-wideband system. Each sub-band contains a transceiver unit which is optimized for operation within that specific sub-band. The number and position of the sub-bands can be adjusted to cover any frequency range as required for the specific application.

Abstract: A method for treating a subject with cancer by administering to the subject a therapeutically effective amount of a recombinant Herpes Simplex Virus-1 (HSV-1) that expresses only a C-terminal portion of ?134.5 protein (e.g., amino acid residues 147-263) with no wild-type or intact ?134.5 protein expression is provided. The recombinant HSV-1 of this invention instigates immune activation, selectively replicates in cancer cells, and resists clearance by interferon.

Abstract: The present disclosure describes a unique, two-part, water-soluble polymer matrix material and a method of application that immobilizes a wide variety of loose powder or crystalline hazardous materials and renders them “safe” or at least “safer” for handling and transport. The polymer matrix material is a two-part polymer material comprising a liquid cross-linking polymer and a cross-linking agent, initiator, or biocide contained in a solution. The cross-linking agent functions to cross-link the polymer and cause it to harden in place.

The system may include a direct current coil adjacent to the metal plate, and a current source. The system may include one or more processors and a computer readable medium including instructions that cause the system to perform operations to determine that an electromagnetic interference signal is incident on the system, the electromagnetic interference signal characterized by a frequency. The system may also determine a current amount associated with the frequency. The system may provide the current amount to the direct current coil such that a magnetic field is generated such that the tunable metal patch geometrically shifts.

Abstract: One aspect of the invention provides a method of treating a cornea. The method includes controlling a light source to apply light energy pulses to a single corneal layer selected from the group consisting of: an anterior corneal layer and a posterior corneal layer. The light energy pulses are below an optical breakdown threshold for the cornea and ionize water molecules within the treated corneal layer to generate reactive oxygen species that cross-link collagen within the single corneal layer. Another aspect of the invention provides a method of treating a cornea. The method includes controlling a light source to apply light energy pulses to at least a corneal stroma layer of a cornea. The light energy pulses are below an optical breakdown threshold for the cornea and ionize water molecules within the treated corneal stromal layer to generate reactive oxygen species that cross-link collagen within the cornea.
