  • Patent number: 9320328
Abstract: In one example, a textile fastener may include a pegging member, and a receiving member. The receiving member may include a flange portion configured to support at least a portion of the textile, and an opening disposed within the flange portion configured to receive the pegging member. In some cases, the pegging member may be configured to apply a friction force between the textile and the receiving member when the pegging member is inserted into the opening. Magnetic interaction between the pegging member and the receiving member may maintain the friction force between the textile and the receiving member.

  • Patent number: 9304845
Abstract: A sequence code verification system can be designed to include a data reader, a validity engine, and an error notifier. The data reader can read sequence codes from consecutive logical blocks. The validity engine can invalidate write operations in response to checking data validity by applying comparison operations to sequence codes and block offsets of batch write operations. The error notifier can notify a user of an error for each invalidated write operation batch. The system can validate data written to logical blocks on a storage subsystem adapted so that, during write operations, an additional sequence code is written to each logical block of data. The sequence code can remain constant for each write operation batch and the sequence code can be incremented for each new write operation batch.

  • Publication number: 20150272246
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention are directed to textile fasteners. In one embodiment, the textile fastener may include a spherical member and a receiving member. The receiving member may include a flange portion and an opening within the flange portion where the opening is configured to receive the spherical member. In an embodiment, the insertion of the spherical member at least partially into the opening applies a friction force between the textile and the receiving member thereby attaching the textile fastener to the textile. In particular, magnetic interaction between the spherical member and the receiving member may maintain the friction force between the textile and the receiving member. The textile fastener also includes a cover member that substantially conceals the spherical member and the receiving member from view. The cover member may be an ornamental or functional structure, including a wearable electronic device.

  • Patent number: 9054863
Abstract: Aspects of the present invention provide machines, systems, and methods in which industrial control systems may be secured from compromise and/or disruption via authentication and firewall. In particular, an industrial controller may: randomly generate an exchange key and send the exchange key to a client device in response to a transaction request originating from the client device; combine the exchange key with a locally stored pass key to produce an authentication code; and compare a challenge key received from the client device to the authentication code to determine a match between the challenge key and the authentication code. A successful match between the challenge key and the authentication code may allow the client device to further access the industrial controller using a common industrial protocol (CIP), and a failed match between the challenge key and the authentication code may prevent the client device from further access to the industrial controller.

  • Publication number: 20140340689
Abstract: The present disclosure provides an OCT imaging system to reduce or eliminate frequency-domain aliasing artifacts. The frequency is shifted using a carrier frequency to define a sampling range substantially centered on the carrier frequency. An image of the sample is generated from a displayed imaging range that consists of a subset of the frequencies within the sampling range. Furthermore, the system may be configured to determine the carrier frequency such that a Nyquist frequency corresponding to the shifted frequency is extended beyond either an upper or a lower bound of an OCT quality envelope corresponding to the first portion of light. Additionally, the carrier frequency may be determined such that a lower bound of the OCT quality envelope is greater or less than a zero-frequency DC limit.
