  • Patent number: 6202926
Abstract: A magnetic recording medium, and methods of making and reading the same, including on at least a portion of a substrate an irreversible recording layer which contains an irreversible recording material undergoing an irreversible change of saturation magnetization upon heating. The invention involves the steps of previously heating the irreversible recording layer to form an initial heated region in which a plurality of heated bars whose saturation magnetization has been irreversibly changed are arrayed in a bar code pattern, and converting unheated bars disposed between the heated bars into a heated state for changing the array pattern of heated bars, thereby recording the information.

  • Patent number: 6200840
Abstract: A method for preventing boron segregation and out diffusion to form PMOS devices is disclosed. The method includes a semiconductor substrate which is provided and forms a gate oxide layer as well as a gate layer on top of the semiconductor substrate. Next, a photoresist layer is formed on a top surface of the gate layer, moreover, pattern transfers onto the photoresist layer after going through an exposure and a development. Furthermore, the gate layer and the gate oxide layer are then etched by using the photoresist layer as a mask, and the photoresist layer is removed afterward. In succession, a thin nitride oxide (NO, N2O) layer is grown by utilizing rapid thermal oxidation (RTO) and rapid thermal nitridation (RTN). Hereafter, high doped drain regions of boron ion shallow junctions are formed by carrying out ion implantation. A TEOS layer and a silicon nitride layer are deposited by using LPCVD, and forming spacers by etching the silicon nitride layer and the TEOS layer.

  • Patent number: 6200870
Abstract: A method for forming a gate that improves the quality of the gate includes sequentially forming a gate oxide layer, a polysilicon layer, a conductive layer and a masking layer on a substrate. Thereafter, the masking layer, the conductive layer, the polysilicon layer and the gate oxide layer are patterned to form the gate. Then, a passivation layer, for increasing the thermal stability and the chemical stability of the gate, is formed on the sidewall of the conductive layer by ion implantation with nitrogen cations. The nitrogen cations are doped into the substrate, under the gate oxide layer, by ion implantation, which can improve the penetration of the phosphorus ions.

  • Patent number: 6201572
Abstract: The present invention provides an active pixel sensor read-out channel that includes an active pixel. The active pixel drives an active pixel output to a signal voltage having an amplitude proportional to an intensity of light received by the active pixel. The active pixel drives the active pixel output to a reference voltage when the active pixel is not exposed to light. The active pixel output is connected to a sample and hold circuit. The sample and hold circuit samples and stores the signal voltage and samples and stores the reference voltage. A buffer amplifier generates a difference voltage between the sampled and stored signal voltage and the sampled and stored reference voltage.

  • Patent number: 6200110
Abstract: An air compressor includes a housing having a tube extended from the top and having a passage communicating the housing with the tube and having a tapered surface. A piston is slidably received in the chamber of the housing and is forced to move along the housing in a reciprocating action and to force the air out through the tube via the passage. The provision of the tapered surface allows the piston to smoothly move in the housing. A stop is adjustably spring-biased to block the passage. The piston has a spring blade to block an aperture to control the air into the housing.

  • Patent number: 6197664
Abstract: A method for plating conductive material in through apertures and blind apertures of a substrate which has a conductive material on its upper and lower surfaces. In a typical configuration for plating a via, there is a first region of conductive material adjacent to, but outside of, the aperture which forms the via and a second region of conductive material inside of the aperture. The second conductive region is selected to be the cathode of the plating process. The structure is placed in a plating bath, a first potential is applied to the first region of conductive material, and a second potential is applied to the second region of conductive material, with the second potential being different from the first potential. Under these conditions, material will plate onto the second region of conductive material to fill the aperture.
