  • Patent number: 9876478
Abstract: Apparatus and methods for wireless local area network (WLAN) power amplifiers are provided. In certain configurations, a WLAN power amplifier system includes a WLAN power amplifier, an output impedance matching network, and an envelope tracker. The WLAN power amplifier includes an input that receives a WLAN signal having a fundamental frequency and an output that generates an amplified WLAN signal for transmission over an antenna. The output impedance matching network is electrically connected to the output of the WLAN power amplifier, and can provide a load line impedance between 10? and 35? at the fundamental frequency. The envelope tracker receives an envelope of the WLAN signal, and controls a voltage level of a power supply of the WLAN power amplifier based on the envelope signal.

  • Publication number: 20170340308
Abstract: A low profile endocavity needle guide device for an ultrasonic probe is disclosed. The device includes a needle guide and a clamp assembly. The needle guide is a tubular member configured to enable an elongated needle to be extended through it. The clamp assembly includes a first clamp member, a second clamp member and a slidable member. The first clamp member is pivotable with respect to the second clamp member between an engagement position and a release position, and vice versa. The slidable member is mounted on the first clamp member and includes a low profile projection which engages a ramped surface of the first clamp member to pivot the first clamp member to the engagement position when the projection is slid up the ramped surface, and to enable the first clamp member to move to the release position when the projection is slid down the ramp surface.

  • Publication number: 20170195972
Abstract: Embodiments described herein relate to an envelope tracking system that uses a single-bit digital signal to encode an analog envelope tracking control signal, or envelope tracking signal for brevity. In certain embodiments, the envelope tracking system can estimate or measure the amplitude of the baseband signal. The envelope tracking system can further estimate the amplitude of the envelope of the RF signal. The system can convert the amplitude of the envelope signal to a single-bit digital signal, typically at a higher, oversample rate. The single-bit digital signal can be transmitted in, for example, a low-voltage differential signaling (LVDS) format, from a transceiver to an envelope tracker. An analog-to-digital converter (ADC or A/D) can convert the single-bit digital signal back to an analog envelope signal. Moreover, a driver can increase the power of the A/D output envelope signal to produce an envelope-tracking supply voltage for a power amplifier.

  • Patent number: 9692360
Abstract: A system improve amplifier efficiency of operation relative to that of an amplifier with fixed biasing and fixed matching conditions receives a power level and an indicator of amplifier operation. The indicator is at least one of channel, channel bandwidth, out-of band spectral requirements, spectral mask requirements, error vector magnitude, modulation rate, and modulation type. A controller generates a control signal based at least in part on the power level and the indicator to control at least one of the bias current and the matching conditions of matching circuits. The matching conditions and bias current for channels at an edge of a channel band are different from the bias current and matching conditions for channels nearer a center of the channel band.

  • Publication number: 20170149400
Abstract: A system improve amplifier efficiency of operation relative to that of an amplifier with fixed biasing is operating channel dependent. A control circuit determines a bias current for an amplifying transistor of an amplifier circuit based at least in part on an operating channel. The amplifying transistor operates in a multi-channel system, where the bias current for the amplifying transistor operating at channels at an edge of a channel band is different from the bias current for the amplifying transistor operating at channels nearer a center of the channel band.

  • Publication number: 20170074443
Abstract: In one embodiment, the invention is directed to a high-pressure bi-directional sealing system having circumferentially extending outer support rings (1520, 1900), annular, axial seals (1600, 1800) between the outer support rings (1520, 1900) and a circumferentially extending inner support ring (1700) located between the annular, axial seals (1600, 1800). The outer support rings (1520, 1900), seals (1600, 1800), and circumferentially extending inner support ring (1700) are located within a space between an outer tube (1502) and an inner tube (1504) that is telescopically disposed within the outer tube (1502). Seals (1600) and (1800) are oriented in opposite directions. Specifically, the opening of seal (1600) is facing in a first direction and the opening of seal (1800) is facing in a second direction that is opposite the first direction. This configuration enables the high-pressure bi-directional sealing system to handle pressure in both directions.

  • Publication number: 20160352538
Abstract: Network service insertion includes determining a tunnel interface corresponding to a service entity to which an incoming packet is to be directed, the tunnel interface being determined based on software defined network (SDN) flow rules. Further, the incoming packet can be encapsulated based on a tunnel configuration corresponding to the tunnel interface to generate an encapsulated packet such that the encapsulated packet includes media access control (MAC) address headers and a virtual local area network (VLAN) tag associated with the incoming packet. The encapsulated packet can be sent to the service entity through the tunnel interface for network service insertion.

  • Publication number: 20160279207
Abstract: The invention features methods of treating melanoma by modulating an activity of GDF6 in melanoma cells. In one aspect, the methods involve downregulating an activity of GDF6, for example, by using an anti-GDF6 binding molecule, such as an inactivating antibody. Another aspect features treating a subject by first screening for the presence of GDF6 and then treating the subject with an inhibitor of a GDF6 activity. Screening assays for identification of modulators of an activity of GDF6 are also featured.

  • Patent number: 9449250
Abstract: Techniques for providing an image download protection may be provided. In particular, an original image may be protected from being downloaded by providing a substitute image in its place, identified by a plurality of layers that are configured to look substantially similar to the original image. However, when a user device attempts to quickly store the image (e.g., by right-clicking on the image and selecting “save”), the user device can be hindered from downloading the substantially similar looking image because only one layer may be stored on the user device. In some examples, the layer of the image looks substantially distinct from the original image, but the layer in combination with a plurality of other layers can look substantially similar to the original image.

  • Patent number: 9440141
Abstract: A competitive table game includes a rapidly spinning game wheel, an annular collection area, a base, and a plurality of rollable playing pieces. The game wheel is rotatably connected onto the base while the annular collection area is concentrically positioned around the game wheel. During each game, the players roll the plurality of rollable playing pieces on a smooth top surface of the game wheel as the plurality of rollable playing pieces is tangentially positioned on the smooth top surface and released attempting to match the linear velocity at the respective position on the game wheel. Then the plurality of rollable playing pieces moves across the smooth top surface and drops into the annular collection area, where the winner of each game is determined according to the game rules of each different game and the positioning of the plurality of rollable playing pieces. Other embodiments are described and shown.
