  • Publication number: 20230119597
Abstract: A drain cover and drain cover system are disclosed. The drain cover includes a flange portion that rests on a bottom of a body designed for use with running water, such as a bathtub or shower. The drain cover overlays a drain on the body to prevent water from going down the drain until the water exceeds a predetermined height in the body. Further, the drain cover does not require fasteners to maintain it in place, instead relying upon hydrostatic pressure applied to the drain cover by the water and friction between the drain cover and the body.

  • Publication number: 20230095287
Abstract: A package for a medical device such as an intermittent catheter has a case which is closed at one end and open at the other end. A cap is connected to the case by a hinge to permit selectable movement of the cap between an open position, wherein access is provided to the open end of the case, and a closed position, wherein the cap prevents access to the open end of the case. A seal is connected to one of the cap and case. The seal is engageable with the other of the cap and case when the cap is closed to form a barrier that maintains a sterile environment inside the package. The seal can be repeatedly made and broken whenever the user closes or opens the cap, respectively. One of the case and cap has a latch and the other has a receptacle for receiving the latch to releasably retain the cap in a closed position. The latches fit into the receptacle to prevent lateral forces from distorting the cap when the cap is closed. A locking slide may be used to lock the cap to the case.

  • Publication number: 20230061993
Abstract: A design application is configured to generate a latent space representation of a fleet of pre-existing vehicles. The design application encodes vehicle designs associated with the fleet of pre-existing vehicles into the latent space representation to generate a first latent space location. The first latent space location represents the characteristic style associated with the fleet of pre-existing vehicles. The design application encodes a sample design provided by a user into the latent space representation to produce a second latent space location. The design application then determines a distance between the first latent space location and the second latent space location. Based on the distance, the design application generates a style metric that indicates the aesthetic similarity between the sample design and the vehicle designs associated with the fleet of pre-existing vehicles. The design application can also generate new vehicle designs based on the latent space representation and the sample design.

  • Publication number: 20230060989
Abstract: In various embodiments, a generative design application generates and evaluates automotive designs. In operation, the generative design application computes a first set of metric values based on a set of metrics associated with design goal(s) and a first set of parameter values for a parameterized automobile model. The generative design application then performs optimization operation(s) on the first set of parameter values based on the first set of metric values to generate a second set of parameter values. Subsequently, the generative design application generates at least one design based on the second set of parameter values that is more convergent with respect to at least one of the design goals than a previously generated design. Advantageously, less time and effort are required to generate and evaluate multiple designs and then optimize those designs relative to more manual prior art approaches.

  • Patent number: 11568316
Abstract: Churn-aware training of a classifier which reduces the difference between predictions of two different models, such as a prior generation of a classification model and a subsequent generation. A second dataset of labelled data is scored on a prior generation of a classification model, wherein the prior generation was trained on a first dataset of labelled data. A subsequent generation of a classification model is trained with the second dataset of labelled data, wherein in training of the subsequent generation, weighting of at least some of the labelled data in the second dataset, such as labelled data threat yielded an incorrect classification, is adjusted based on the score of such labelled data in the prior generation.

  • Publication number: 20230026207
Abstract: Various embodiments include methods and apparatus structured to install an optical fiber cable into a well at a well site. In a from-bottom-to-top embodiment, an anchor deployed at a selected location in a hole of the well can be used and the optical fiber cable can be pulled up to a surface of the well from the selected location. In a from-top-to-bottom embodiment, an optical fiber cable can be moved down from the surface until an end of the optical fiber cable is locked at a selected location by a catcher disposed at the selected location. With the optical fiber cable in the well, a portion of the optical fiber cable can be coupled to surface instrumentation. Additional apparatus, systems, and methods can be implemented in a variety of applications.

  • Publication number: 20220400141
Abstract: In various implementations, a productivity application allows selected content from an electronic document to be shared with and edited by multiple users through instances of a collaboration component. The collaboration component includes a distributed data structure that stores state information about the shared content. The component also includes application logic for managing the state information to reflect user edits and other such changes. This allows the selected content to be shared with the users in any application that supports the collaboration component and without the entirety of the document having to be shared. A user can experience the content in the context of applications other than the productivity application that hosts the document.
