  • Patent number: 11366243
Abstract: Disclosed is a system and method for improving the performance of downhole Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) systems by simultaneous use of co-propagating and counter-propagating Distributed Raman Amplification (DRA). It uses a surface DRA system with a surface DAS system to combine their laser sources where the distal end of the downhole sensing fiber use uses a Wavelength Division Multiplexer (WDM) to optically split the DRA and DAS signals onto two optical fibers. The DAS fiber/signal is terminated with a low reflectance termination to minimize a potential back reflection whereas the DRA fiber is terminated with a high reflectance termination causing all the light to reflect back up the sensing fiber. This arrangement allows for simultaneous co and counter-propagating DRA of the DAS signals, both the transmitted pulse and the back scattered light, thus creating the maximum amount of gain possible.

  • Patent number: 11334779
Abstract: This disclosure relates to technology for embedding machine-readable labels (“MRLs”) into digital media files. Digital media files may be presented on different screen sizes, having different resolutions, different frame refresh rates and other display properties. Each screen may therefore present an MRL differently, potentially negatively impacting scan-ability of the presented MRL. Systems disclosed herein receive a set of design choices for an MRL. The systems may resize pre-existing content in one or more video frames of the media file and create a space within each video frame for displaying the MRL. The systems may render a resultant video file for a target screen size that includes a reliably scannable MRL embedded in the video frame(s).

  • Patent number: 11335120
Abstract: The present disclosure provides systems and methods that perform face reconstruction based on an image of a face. In particular, one example system of the present disclosure combines a machine-learned image recognition model with a face modeler that uses a morphable model of a human's facial appearance. The image recognition model can be a deep learning model that generates an embedding in response to receipt of an image (e.g., an uncontrolled image of a face). The example system can further include a small, lightweight, translation model structurally positioned between the image recognition model and the face modeler. The translation model can be a machine-learned model that is trained to receive the embedding generated by the image recognition model and, in response, output a plurality of facial modeling parameter values usable by the face modeler to generate a model of the face.

  • Patent number: 11308246
Abstract: A design engine includes a geometry module and a metric module that interoperate to generate optimal design options. The geometry module initially generates a spectrum of design options for a structure based on project constraints and design criteria set forth by potential occupants of the structure. The metric module then analyzes each design option and generates, for any given design option, a set of metrics that indicates how well the given design option meets the design criteria. The geometry module then generates additional design options in an evolutionary manner to improve the metrics generated for subsequent design options.
