  • Patent number: 7188138
Abstract: When a network resource request having a domain name is received, it is determined whether the network resource can be accessed from the domain name. Rather than, or in addition to, displaying an error message or processing a search request in response to determining that a network resource can not be accessed, the domain name can instead be redirected to a registration service where the domain name can be automatically used to perform a registration request and determine domain name availability. When the domain name is not available for registration, domain name registrant information is provided. However, when the domain name is determined available, a registration form is provided.

  • Patent number: 7136932
Abstract: When a network resource request having a domain name is received, it can be determined whether the domain name is a fictitious domain name (FDN). For instance, the highest level domain (HLD) of a domain name that is determined not resolvable is called a top level domain alias (TLDA) and such a domain name is a FDN having a TLDA. Rather than displaying an error message upon determining that a domain name is (fictitious) a FDN, instead a URL having a resolvable domain name can be generated. Content if any, may then be located, presented, displayed, notified, and/or accessed accordingly. For example, the autosearch feature of a web browser can be enabled to provide further resolution processing by generating and/or resolving a resolvable domain name upon detecting a FDN from a received domain name.

  • Patent number: 7136725
Abstract: At a first time, an authorized directive is received by the utility provider to perform an operative action for shedding load of a power system by a minimum system load value on or before a second time. The utility provider may operate the SCADA/DCS system to assist in selecting a set of circuits wherein the total circuit load value of the selection is greater than or equal to the minimum system load value. In response to circuit selection, the SCADA/DCS system selects the corresponding set of circuit breakers and consults the circuit-subscriber notification database to select a set of subscribers corresponding to the selected set of circuits. A system, product, and/or device adapted for communicating data in response to circuit selection may then be accessed by the SCADA/DCS system to communicate to the selected set of subscribers an intention of performing the operative action on or before the second time.

  • Publication number: 20060232267
Abstract: Resistivity ? values of a lubricating oil are repeatedly determined at a predetermined temperature (range) as it is in use in a working mechanism such as a vehicle engine. Such accumulated properties over operating time of the working lubricant can be plotted graphically to display a curve with, for example, a first portion where d?/dt>0, a maximum ?max at a time t1 where d?/dt=0, a second portion where d?/dt<0, a minimum ?min at a time t2 where d?/dt again is zero, and a third portion where d?/dt>0. Furthermore, there can exist another time t3, where d?/dt exhibits a discontinuous change (increase) with time. Characteristics of the ? vs. t curve, including, the values of t1, t2, t3, ?max, ?min, and the ratio ?max/?min can be compared with like data on like lubricant oils in estimating the remaining useful life of the present operating lubricant oil.

  • Patent number: 7120236
Abstract: When any user request other than that of a phone number subscription request is received from a user, it may be determined whether a subscription request is offered to the user in response to the received request. When an offer is to be provided, a phone number subscription request may be offered either before, during, or after processing the received request.

  • Publication number: 20060180396
Abstract: An apparatus for collecting lubricant, such as from a vacuum pump, is disclosed. In certain embodiments the apparatus includes a cabinet for retaining a vacuum pump and a variable depth basin beneath the cabinet for collecting lubricant from a vacuum pump. In specific implementations the variable depth basin is deepest proximate the front of the cabinet.

  • Publication number: 20060180397
Abstract: An apparatus and method for adjusting the orientation of a lubricant-retaining basin is disclosed. The apparatus includes a cabinet configured for retaining a vacuum pump and a lubricant-retaining basin. A rotatable member engages the lubricant-retaining basin and elevates the back end of the basin to permit drainage of lubricant from the front end of the basin.

  • Publication number: 20060170314
Abstract: An cabinet for retaining a vacuum pump. The cabinet includes, in certain embodiments, removable access panels that allow access to the interior of the cabinet and to a vacuum pump placed within the cabinet. In certain embodiments the cabinet includes a top surface and at least one side surface. Portions of these top and side surfaces are removable from the cabinet to allow access to a vacuum pump that can be placed within the cabinet.

  • Publication number: 20060161239
Abstract: A stent delivery system is disclosed that has an outer assembly and an inner assembly that accommodates a stent. The inner assembly further has an external assembly contact area projecting from its surface that frictionally contacts an inner surface of the outer assembly. The contact area is positioned at one end of the inner assembly, proximal to the stent accommodating area. Also disclosed is a method of using the stent delivery system.

  • Patent number: 7046364
Abstract: A method and apparatus for matching the gloss level of a printed region of a media substrate surface to the gloss level of a non-printed region of the media substrate surface are provided. Optical reflection intensities are measured in both printed and non-printed regions of the media substrate surface and read by a gloss sensing device which communicates the intensities to a printer controller. The printer controller compares the reflection intensities for the two regions to determine if they are substantially equivalent. If they are not substantially equivalent, the printer controller instructs alterations in printing parameters, e.g., temperature and/or pressure of fuser rollers, in an effort to establish equivalence.

  • Patent number: 7035896
Abstract: A device, network access apparatus executes any program such as a servlet, applet, script, or web browser. When a user logs in or when the user executes a program or in response to a user login, the system date/time may be determined. A URI corresponding to the system date/time may be retrieved from at least one data record of a database. The retrieved URI may then be accessed/resolved. In addition, the determination of the system date/time may be configured in response to any kind of login such as a network or web based login for the purpose of retrieving a URI as a starting page.

  • Patent number: 7010568
Abstract: An accessible URI may be generated in response to determining that an existing valid URI is inaccessible. When a valid URI is determined to be not accessible, then a valid URI may be generated to access content by extracting keywords from the non-query component URI (e.g., directory, domain, port, or fragment, etc.) of the inaccessible URI and using such keywords as a search request or as the query portion of the generated accessible URI.
